He passed away for lung cancer on April 10, 2022. He was 82 years old. He takes a picture of several great works in a lifetime, and is often learned about in Japan. But it's regrettable that only "HOUSE" is learned about in the world.
George C. ObayashiArchive on youtube. His made for tv 1982 movie Lovely Devil is also on youtube. So is the only anime he ever directed (Kenya Boy), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and The Rocking Horsemen.
@@teewaytrayvonicus31 His 1986 movie Bound for the Fields, the Mountains, and the Seacoast is on TH-cam too. It's very different from House, but incredible in its own way.
This man is a cinema genius, thanks to him i had my first close to the Japanese cinema which is one of the most beautiful and underrated of all and has so many hidden gems in his history

@@Renfield97 yup, no worries bro, I think i´m just gonna go for the second option. I hope one day we could have a nice and complete streaming services, I mean no more private licensing to companies, a word where studios actually care for there craft and give an comfortable solution to piracy. The closest solution to this is the amazing criterion channel, but its only available in the U.S. because of licensing and legal problems, and it cost 10 dollars a moth, (A really good price, but, plus a VPN it en ups super high, and for a student its not going to happen) so the only answer right now is on a film festival in your country, buy a really expensive blu-ray or piracy, I have like half a terabit of piracy movies on my computer, why, I love classic cinema, I love the media, but its just too expensive, I cant pay for that... anyways haha, I got a bit headed up, my apologies. Nobuhiko Obayashi died on April 10, 2020. It's not 2022. He died of lung cancer at his home in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
Obayashi is totally charming! And kudos for the excellent real time translation!

That was way too short a session to discuss House. Man that could have gone on for hours. What a golden moment.
