We all dreamt of a world where robots do all of our work. Dreams are becoming reality, because in a district of Japan, in a robot hotel, we can experience how some parts of the future will be lived like. A robot hotel in Tokyo, in reception, in restaurant, and in other fields of duty, no people work. Robots take all the responsibilities.

Imagine 20 years from now how advanced and improved these robots will become. Scary to think how It'll eat more of the jobs where already unemployment is a major issue
Kind of like Total Recall, Ghost in the Shell or Blade Runner 2049
Forreal I’m glad someone else understands this. Also I hate this because it’s removing all human interaction. Interacting with each other is what makes humans human. All this automation is getting rid of our natural instincts
This definitely will in a major war

the hotel feels really empty and it lacks the warmness that only can come from human interaction.. Japan is turning to robots for cutting human labor costs, but where will the unemployed humans go? how will they survive?
What if our existence wasn't dependent upon constantly participating in capitalism? If robots could do all of our work, why couldn't everyone spend their time enjoying life, instead of working for someone else just to earn the right to live?
They can work as a maintenance team 👍
Thing is japan has low unemployment rate compared to other developed countries and Japan is actually one of the countries where there is actually shortage of workers compared to the unemployed one because of most of japanese are old and can no longer work.
@@jacobaguado3333 We all have the right to live from the very moment of our birth...But the thing is not capitalism, if you want to live comfortably you definitely need to do something for your survival same as other creatures exist on earth...nothing is free..It is the law of nature...of course I am not talking about capitalism here..

@@skygen6757 what if we are in an energy crisis? Did you hear of the black outs in Austria and Germany? Usually, hospitals should got a generator but this should work out for at least 3 days. After that we are helpless. And 1 week without energy is absolutely horrible.
Japan havent experienced a power outage since the tsunami in 2011
@@xXDieRoseXx This won't happen in Japan lol everything is organized from situations such as fire or power outage. I mean when building such a hotel full of robots they must have thought about the cons of it and started to create a solution for what will happen.

Such as jamming the machines or short circuiting robots. Of COURSE they SHOULD be watching EVERYTHING, and would apprehend thieves and vandals right away, but some don't CARE if they're caught. In Japan they may have harsh laws against things like that, but OTHER countries may become victims because of this technology. Also, this type of facility would PROBABLY have absolutely NO PRIVACY because of monitoring.
Japan is already living in 2050 in technology
Ya Japan is incredible 👍
I can’t imagine myself checking in at this hotel. It feels so weird even when I’m just watching it from my phone’s screen. I hope other countries would never imitate this.
Yeah robots are taking over the world
up
@Eman Abdirihman Precisely. Inventions like this is truly mind blowing, but the sad part is that robots and AI have already taken millions of jobs, they make workers obsolete.
@@user-po4yd7wp3i That's won't happen. The world changes, so do our jobs. New ones will replace the unnecessary ones. The only concerning thing is how human interaction will degenerate due to excessive automation. Social media already creates enough of a disconnect considering how much of a mask it offers, I can't imagine how it would be when we will be able to fully pretend to be someone whom we aren't.
Just make robot that only do heavy lifting jobs
Sometimes I feel like I should have been born in an era where people liked interacting with each other rather than only living life for efficiency. Nah I am not happy at all. Even human interaction has changed. People can chat with each other for hours but can't talk to each other face to face for 10mins without a break.

I absolutely cannot enjoy talking face to face. It’s so tiring having to control the facial expressions I make and the things I say, and I always end up embarrassing myself. At least when typing, I can think longer before acting.
@@imthecoolest50 this happened because of the social barrier that was created due to the lack of f2f communication. Trust me or not but I sometimes feel the same. But with the right person, you will never get tired of talking. It's another way of choosing the right persons. Like you will never feel anxious with them. "What will they think" it's a bad thing and one of the main causes of depression. And facial expressions are important to communicate, sometimes no words are needed to communicate. As there are enough options like chatting or others, your skills of talking face to face will never develop because you will never get used to it. It's like you are stuck on the screen. If you want to get the girl you like, you create another personality to impress her (online). But this distorts the real personality of thyself. A lot of people do the same and get hurt when they meet.
This may seem progressive from an engineering standpoint point, but I think it creates a toxic dependency on AI and disconnects us from our tranquil relationship with the natural world. Eerie as heck.

Yeah, I would find it a horrible condition to ask something from robots...better to be with humans and ask their help..ヽ༼⁰o⁰;༽ノ
I always felt like if robots were to replace humans, it would be pretty convenient. Now that you get the see what it has actually become it feels a bit emotionless and isolated. As much as I like what technology brings to this world, it removes this idea of "mistakes". I can't put it into words but when everything is going as how it should be the world feels like a boring place to live in, humans are and never will be perfect, which makes it all the better to have.
As well as social interactions, I feel like if you lived in a world with almost no human interaction it will affect you mentally. Everyone should have someone to interacted with often even if it's just for a moment.
I love the the concept and idea that japan has brought, but I feel like this might not go as well as they thought it would.
I also think that if they made the robots a bit more kid-friendly or non human like would make them more pleasing to look at and interact with. But that's just my opinion
It would not be long before one goes insane in a world without human interaction, but that is unlikely to ever happen
honestly, i hate it when people try make the robot REALLY realistic, they try to make them blend in with human looks but its rather more freaky than appealing, so i agree, people should make robots more kid friendly.

"we all dream about a robotic-world" no sir, we DO NOT. I dream about the 70's when you had to go to the bank, postoffice, stand in line, it was a whole procedure, to get access to your own money or to recieve a parcel. I miss in the 90's when we went to video-shops to rent a video, it was something the kids looked forward to every Friday, I miss everything where you had to go to places to do something. And I miss the big toyshops, in my country we hardly have any toy-shops anymore, we must order from the computer, BORING. Life is boring now, old people are lonelier than ever because they don't get that interaction with people anymore. I am so glad that I was born in the 60's and got to live life while there was life to live.
Yeah.
I know it sucks. The 60s was nice
your comment brought tears in my eyes
I read “the McDonaldization of society” by George Ritzer. He wrote everything about the fast food and its affections. This is the world we live in and everyday it becomes more like a McDonald’s restaurant
Old people being lonely has always been a thing, the youth are focused on themselves. Change is inevitable
Dude, that hotel run by robots seems extremely depressing. I would personally never go there!
think about it the suicide rates would dbl if ppl who are on the brink stay there. you re looking for advice, nurturing, opinions, reassurance. just to get, "im sorry please explain?"
Seems great to me.
We are replacing inferior employees (humans) with superior employees (machines). We don't go to a hotel to form a relationship with anyone. We go to hotels with people we ALREADY have a relationship with. For example your spouse or children or friends. THAT is the relationship. Not someone at a hotel front desk you speak with for 10min.
I want to see a world where we have NO HUMAN employees. Why would I want to deal with a human that is slow, rude, and not knowledgeable. I want a fast robot that gets the jobs done with minimal to zero need for explanation.
And finally, most people complain about working. So those people should embrace AI more than anyone. Imagine a world where every job is done by robots. NO ONE would be working. This way you have more time to spend on your hobbies, family, and friends.
AI will free humanity in the same way fire, antibiotics, and electricity freed humans. I don't think you realize how stupid you sound. You actually WANT to work?

I love this comment 🙌, yes you're right I'm grateful for being alive, literally.
dumb comment of the day
As a science student, this is fascinating to me.
I really hope this whole Robotic thing stays primarily in Asia and not all around the world, because that would just be horrible!... 🤯
Excuse me , stay in Japan only 🤨
@@violet2501 exactly I don’t want this to come to Bangladesh
@@whowantsbrowncheese1684 Hi I'm Bread Gennie , I wanna audition for Jinhit ent. So can I give audition??
@@violet2501 If it's currently just in Japan, then yes, stay there!.... That's why I just said Asia, because I was not sure if others were embracing this idea in other parts of Asia too!.... This is a terrible creation and one to destroy our relationship with robotic technology!....
@@whowantsbrowncheese1684 This is just AWFUL!..... The only people that love these robots are the Greedy Corporations who would rather have Billions in their bank accounts then to employ real humans to work and live. Also, all the introverts who hate people and all they want to do is eliminate all human contact and be surrounded by lifeless & synthetic forms of machinery, that lack all feelings, empathy, sympathy or emotions!..... That is NOT a healthy nor sustainable way of life for Human Beings whatsoever!!!......
This is both interesting and scary at the same time.....
Fun fact when something wrong happened in hotels we can't complain to them
I'm guessing that this robot hotel is way cheaper to stay in than the conventional hotel with humans.
Now imagine being at this hotel and a robot knocking on your door at 2 am. Now that would be scarier than a haunting.
Waited for this video! I support you as much as i can, you deserved it.
I don't really know how to feel about this. This is fascinatingly creepy.

Wow a much better robot showcase video than ones on most tech channels
I would never stay in such a hotel where i pay for rooms and services and do everything myself
Thanks for uploading a video like this. I'm getting more addicted to your content.
On the hindsight, this proves how high tech Japan can be. We can’t please everyone. There are ppl who enjoy this set up whereas some who don’t. This is life people.
PS: the music at the background doesn’t help.
Yeah, I've seen another video of this hotel before a few years ago and it's nothing new, though I'm still fascinated by it! I was surprised by the sheer amount of pessimistic comments though, it's probably how the video paints it in an eerie vibe, but also mostly due to people's paranoia of technological progress. Though I can understand it's probably because of the uncanny movements of the robots as well, which will hopefully become more fluid as robotics develop.
Nah mate it gives me chills!
@@777loki9 Yeah, a lot of people in the comments are already saying that, though we all have our takes on it. There's videos who paint it in a much more positive light though.
I find it fascinating and incredible tbh. It will cause far less social disconnect than social media of today and, honestly, robots can help people feel less lonely so they can find joy. Also, the fact that so many aren't fond of it means it won't take over Hotel jobs as some claim... Personally think this is awesome. All in all this is a promising development. :-)
@@puffypau6046 Yeah I think people are paranoid about this even though it's practically just a real life version of video game NPC's lol. I find it uplifting and hopeful in all honesty.
That hotel is very clean. Even cockroaches are definitely robots too!
Let's go!

In Iraq we have popular saying “No one will to put his feet in heaven if there would be no humans [in it]”
"الجنة بدون ناس ما تنداس"
That void the people feel...is unimaginable
This could pass as a Black Mirror episode. There's this feeling of satisfaction yet terrifying at the same time.
I was in this museum in 2014, and even at that time, they were doing this play with Asimo. I was hoping things would change in 7 years.

This might be the way of the future. Hotels can definitely cut a lot of costs using robots 🧐🤨
Robots might affect employment badly in the near future. People should prepare themselves.
Lots of people gonna lose there jobs then. I like the idea maybe it should be mixed half and half.
Hotel workers where I live are people who get a job at the hotel if their total house income is already low (granted not everyone in that industry but a good majority) it's a place with nice people who want to work in a good environment while also being able to increase skills From laundry to landscaping and guest service. I felt an empty gut feeling watching this. If the hotel owners can't afford actual human employees then they need to get out of that business as fast as they can.
On the other side, Japan is a place that explores different ideas in ways of living such as a non human maintained hotel. Even some restaurants near where I live has a tablet where the register would be where people could order food without having to talk to the workers. Which is just another replacement for that potential worker. These days unemployment has alot due to the government giving them relief money for not "being able to get a job" so if that's how it's going to be then let's all get ourselves fired and let the robots take over. That's basically a retirement plan for the entire country.
I don’t understand the obsession with cutting cost why let the govt be more supportive with all the taxes that they take and help the industry the only fucking industry that is blooming is Politicians 😠
I don't like robots too much too
But for the unemployment part
If people are switching all systems to rely on robots without the need of humans then this also means that we need alot of robots which ig will need alot of humans so I don't think it will change that much
