    I have a tuxedo cat named Oscar. He is 20 years old and an indoor cat. He's still very active and still eats a lot. Oscar came to us as a stray in 2002 and one year old at the time. He is the best cat that ever had.

    I’ve had several tuxedo cats. They all fit into the boxes you described. Our current black and white little guy is a rescue. He ended up in our yard, crying. It was in February. He was cold, hungry and a mess. We live in the Arkansas Ozarks, where the land is stony and rocky. His little feet were dry and cracked. We took him in, fed him and nursed him with a lot of TLC. We brought him to our vet and had him neutered, chipped, full dental check up and tooth protective coating. He was treated for fleas and worms. He got everything he needed. He bonded with us very fast. He wanted to be near us all the time. He got his own bedroom so we could close the door and protect our other resident cat from diseases until we had him tested. It’s been 2 1/2 months since he joined us. We named him Luke Stonewalker. He’s wonderful. Vet said he was 5 years old but we don’t believe that’s correct. He’s tiny and he is just like a kitten. He acts like a kitten and plays like a kitten. He talks almost constantly. He’s adorable. AND he’s very smart! He started studying our house from the day one. Everything was new to him. He would look at the fridge, or the stove or some other item and watch with 100 % attention as we used these things. You could see his brain taking it all in. He’s awesome! He is very happy and so are we!

    Our sweet tuxedo cat, Stella, is 7 years old. We met her when she was a year old at our local Humane Society. All of the other kitties were sleeping in their litter pans; Stella was sitting there watching every move we made. Our eyes met and she slowly placed her left paw on the glass that separated us. I knew immediately that I had just been adopted by this beautiful creature. She is so smart and sweet. And so very loved.

    We have twelve tuxedo cats, (two pregnant sisters were abandoned in our neighborhood) they're all hilarious, brilliant and amazing. After the babies were born, we were going to rehome the kittens, but we fell in love with them and decided to keep them. One of the best decisions we've ever made.

    • @brucejeric6701
      @brucejeric6701 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. Exactly as we did many years ago. Took 8 babies in the house we found outside in 3 different litters plus all thd strays that have ever showed up on our farm. One of the best parts of our lives. I fixed 16 strays one year. After that things slowed down in this rural neighborhood which is good. Now many have died and we are down to 5 in the house and 2 outdoors. We are in our 70’s and worry so about not outliving them. My biggest fear!!!!

    • @brucejeric6701
      @brucejeric6701 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Forgot to mention all were tuxedo cats. Years ago that’s all that were born in this area. There was one big tuxedo male that ruled the neighborhood. Took me many years to catch and fix. Kind of sorry I did because it took something out of him and he didn’t survive long in the wild. He was around for years getting all females pregnant. Then it was less than a year after he was fixed anx he was gone

    My Blade, my tux, left us last year, just before his 18th birthday, he was diabetic for 2.5 years and I think I was not a good cat-mommy by letting him get to 15# (which I think resulted in his diabetes). BUT, he was THE BEST cat I have ever had, right up until the end, SO intelligent, really understood what I was saying and "did" what he was told, obedient and easily trained, played catch and retrieved like a dog, and slept by my side for nearly 18 years with his head on my pillow. He never was an outside cat and was completely content inside with his "litter sister". She just left us recently, just short of 19 YO. I miss my "kids" so much, I am just surfing to look at others' cats, to satiate my cat-cravings.. this is the first time I haven't had a cat and I love them so much. If you don't have a cat, I highly recommend a tux. Thanks for listening and sharing your stories for me to enjoy vicariously.

    Point #7: They are bat s#it crazy. I've had two and both of them were lovable but quite unpredictable. Both of them could defy gravity like no other cats I've ever seen. One could run down the drapes as fast as it could run up. The other was known to run sideways across the kitchen cabinets in order to jump up to the top of the refrigerator. As this video says, DO NOT get a tuxedo unless you are prepared for a cat with LOTS of energy. They are also very intelligent and empathetic animals.

    I have a Tuxedo cat named Tucker. I feed the homeless cats on my street. Tucker was just a kitten when he showed up at my door. He stood out not only by his "tux" but also by his demeanor. Tucker, like the other felines, would approach me and meow but he would do so more vigorously. We quickly established a friendship, and in December I decided to adopt him. Tucker closely fits the resemblance of the image of a tuxedo feline portrayed in the video. He's very personable, affectionate, and intelligent. He has also grown very quickly. We're great pals!

    We adopted a tuxedo cat 3 months ago. About 1 wk after we brought her home she got so sick. Turned out she still had Coccidia her original owner thought was cured. 3 vet visits, 5 meds later shes finally well! She’s strictly indoor, but has her own catio. She’s definitely smart; shes also needy, stubborn, playful, sleeps in some crazy positions including on my chest. She also rules our house.

    I had two tuxedo cats Sox and Jessie. Jessie was a wee rescue - she had been abandoned on a bus. Sox was the kitten of a pregnant female rescued from a colony living under an old building. What lucky finds they were and how lucky was I to share my life with them. I loved them with all my heart and was heartbroken when they died. Like the tuxedo cats of other respondents my Sox was long lived being over 18 when he passed. Tuxedo cats are great and if you get the chance to own one do not pass them by.

We don't know her age because when we moved here to our new house, she was always passing around the house and sometimes coming in to look for food until we decided to pet her. She's an abandoned cat. I guess she came from a good and rich family. She's neat and know how to use everything inside our house. She doesn't eat rice and ordinary cat food. She likes everything's wet (food). We have so many things to tell about her esp. some things that we never expect to a cat could do... Well, thanks for sharing your great videos. We had to go around and put child locks on everything and change our door handles so she couldn't get into rooms that had dangerous things in them like my plants. But she is definitely smarter than all my other cats. She is very athletic and built solid compared to my other cats. She is friendly and warms up to new people quickly. But she's also very independent and doesn't snuggle as much as our other cats.

    We have a tuxedo called Chloe. I’ve always loved the fact that her black and white markings on her face are perfectly symmetrical.
    One thing we’ve always said is she behaves just like a dog. She’s not aloof or reserved at all like most cats. Even though she’s a senior now she’s just as active as ever. She’s still active to the point of following me around the house all day and wanting to interact or play with me or anyone who’s in the house. If we have a repairman in the house, she goes right up close to see what they’re doing.
    This behavior was not what I was expecting from a cat when we got her but it’s never changed. She must be a typical tuxedo.

    My second tuxie was dumped as a not weaned kitten a few years back. Someone had dumped a couple of kittens a few weeks before before (not tuxies) and unfortunately
    they didn't make it. My son and I were determined to save this one but she was hiding up inside one of our cars. We coaxed her out to eat but she would retreat back under
    and up into the car as soon as she finished. She was so little she had zero survival skills other than she was smart enough to know the car was safe. Eventually we felt that
    she trusted us enough to make a grab at her but that failed and we were afraid she'd run off. Instead the next day she walked right up to us and let us pick her up. Perhaps
    our ineptness convinced her we were harmless. She is a spoiled baby and very much a princess now and I thank God for her every day. And my other son was glad he could
    finally drive his car again.

    I had a Tux. There is his picture, on my profile. Kiki was so smart and so loving. He was a feral kitten weaned by his mom, so I rescued him. Here in Arizona, in the summer, it is brutal for ferals. He was so skinny, his pads were all cracked, and whiskers all broken. I had been feeding him, and after a little while he allowed me to pick him up. He tripled his weight in a week. My 2 other cats, both 1 year old, loved him, especially one of my one cats. He bathed him and slept with him. Kiki lived to16 years old and I still miss him. One thing about Tuxes was that he would stare directly into my eyes and make biscuits on me. I really felt he truly loved me. And yes, he did grow up too fast, I would always say that to him. And yes, he was very smart. I would push the stool in front of the television and put his blanket on it, and he and my other cat he was inclose with, would watch a cat video I put on. Wow, I miss him.😂❤

Now she’s a bit older and understands that she’s not a princess but a queen 😂 My boyfriend spoils her rotten and now she knows she’s the ruler in this house.
    She’s sassy, very vocal if she doesn’t get her way, a wild panther when there’s something she doesn’t likes. Having her wear her cone after getting spayed has been my biggest challenge with her.

      I foster kittens. When I have them spayed I fit them with a cute little onesie jump suit. It's the best thing ever and will stay on for the ten looong days till the sutures come out. Hands down it is way better than those dreadful cones.
      PS. You can always cut up a sock to suit.

      @@iconoclad That was my plan, but the vet didn’t want anything touching or intruding with the incision because there have been times when people’s pet’s surgery reopens and could get any clothes particles in the incision which could cause infection. It depends on the pets spunkiness and that’s what mine is haha

    My beloved late Tuxedo buddy Roscoe was the most loyal, loving cat I’ve ever had. He was such a sweet little guy. Lived to 17. Miss him every day.

    Our tuxedo is called Felix. He's very active and very persistent if he wants something. He can wake us at night several times. He is funny sometimes and keeps us laughing. He isn't very cuddly but he likes to know where we are. He is a real handful. He has a brother called Orion who is much more laid back. Thank the Lord. Orion is a black panther and a super smooch.

    I've got 2 kittens [so true about them growing quickly!] Baelfire [his nickname is 'Boy', and normally say it really fast like I'm from Cork, haha] is black with extremely subtle spots that I can only see in the brightest sunlight, and his sister is Aria [she was Ari before the vet told me she was a girl, so because her meows were very high pitched, like a soprano singing an *Aria*, voila... more like good save] 😁 she's grey [or blue?] with very suble stripes that only show up in the sun as well... YES extremely intelligent! and in different ways! she's very thoughtful and will work out solutions, while he is definitely quite an alpha, and attacks his obstacles head-on. Also their white patches are very similar, and the stripes down their faces almost identical, but the placements are on opposite sides of their face, so if they're side by side the stripes sort of match up. Looking forward to growing old with these tiny & beautiful beasts 💕💕

    My tux cat is called Luca and he's 1 years old..love him to bits .. before getting him, I lost a few family members and had an awful breakup with an ex . I felt very blank at times and hollow inside before getting Luca .. he's helping me to feel love again and trust others...I know I'll probably regret sending this but it's the truth ..he means the world to me ❤

    Nori-Chan is our tuxedo female. Rescued her as a six week old stray. She’s definitely a quick grower! At seven months she is tall and long. Very smart as well… knew her name very quickly.

      8 years old is not a Sr. Cat! A cat that lives into its late teens is considered old. I'd put a Sr. Cat at 13-14.

    Olivia, aged 8, us ny third tuxxy, she was the runt of her litter, but she keeps me, her dad, and her tabby brother, aged 13, very busy. She is a Chatty Cathy, and all love her to bits. She knows to sit and give 5 when asked, sometimes too smart for own good.

    My mueza is 9 months old....yet she is truly intelligent. She remembers each and every detail of a person who annoys her or whatever scares her.. She is so good at remembering places cause I always move from one country to another for business trips. She copes up with all the new places also she adjusts with all of my colleagues.
    About being playful, she is a night owl for sure for her hunter instincts. ..she starts playing with random objects whatever she finds within her comfort zone...
