My husband's a video editor. He says it WAS all in one take, it's just that the "behind-the-scenes" part wasn't the EXACT behind-the-scenes take of the "official" take. They just used a different behind-the-scenes take because likely the best "behind-the-scenes" take did not match the best "official" take.
With the software they have these days i was thinking overlays on the multiple cam angles and recordings so cheers to the team for a great wardrobe and cam team. Metric rule
This PV deserve an award. Some really crappy videos have won awards and some gorgeously edited videos have won awards, but this kind of beautiful well-made video needs an award more than any of them.
Naaah! Awards are shit. Awards go to the band (actor, writer) with the best agent. Do you think Metric will ever be chosen to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Did Beethoven ever win an award?
Wow!!! This is truly amazing!!! When I first saw this music video, I thought that there was no way that they could have done this without some sort of special effects, but this video has proven me wrong. Great Job!!!
That looks REALLY fun. I love how they're dashing around hats and sweaters flung everywhere. Man, that must be tough to get all that timing! Really, REALLY great vid.
I'm really glad to know that, like the Feist video for "1 2 3 4", it's all real people and talented camera framing, and not special effects... well done Metric!
Wow!!!!! It is really nice and intriguing to see a video like this that respects the integrity of a single performance in this way. Not that I am suggesting that their is anything wrong with editing but the fact that this was shot in one take gives the video a kind of unity that most other music videos don't achieve. Fantastic work!
i never would've thought that was all done in one take. the first time i saw this, i was thinking to myself, "that is some really good editing. awesome work!
Well boys and girl, gotta say that your new cd kicks ass! Heard this on a radio station in etown, and thought, wow, metrics old stuff sure is good, only to have my sis point out this is on Fantasies! Great work and I hope to see ya for the acoustic concert in etown!
gahaha =] love that. So funny seeing them scramble around and just making it to their spots in time. Must have been satisfying to finally nail that down right.
My favorite Metric video. I was always wondered how they pulled it off. Never thought to search for the behind the scenes video. Late to the party again.
Wow, I can only imagine the panicked feeling of GO! GO! GO! It looks like you guys had fun making the video, which is awesome. Now when's that Sick Muse video coming out?
This was incredible! I seriously didn't think it was all done in one take. You guys just tied with Mute Math on the "bands that make amazing videos" haha.
Exactly how I imagined it would've looked like behind the scenes of this amazing video...when I first saw this vid, I was laughing at what was going on just out of the frame. Pretty cool.
Very interesting! I wondered how "they" were able to record this without any obvious edits. Great song and an excellent "behind the scenes" video. Well done!
omg i whas thinking so hard how the hell you can make such a clip and now it seems that it's all about speed and pecision. Nice work and an awsome song
Me neither. I thought that they were doing post-editing and cut and paste crap, but now that I see that it was one shot: --> that art direction needs some recognition too
this is one of those things where it looks like it would take forever to get right and you think there must be a trick. but when you look for the trick you realize there was no trick. it just took forever to get right.
It is an amazing video. One worthy of MTv...Opps, they cater to a certain culture now. Vh1 then,,,,,oops, the cater to a certain culture as well.....Oh, well, maybe Fuse or Paladia! This group should be featured somewhere! They rock!
Thanks for posting this. At this point, i'm not sure what's more remarkable. The video or the "making of." definitely not staged. Suppose it speaks to the their music. These guys are sincere...and this is coming from a 40 year-old copper!! lol
Despite the pressure of the timing and speed, this must have been SO much fun to make, and so satisfying to see the end video.
The amount of work in planning, rehearsing, cinematography and editing in this video to do this in one take is mind-boggling. Fantastic.
My husband's a video editor. He says it WAS all in one take, it's just that the "behind-the-scenes" part wasn't the EXACT behind-the-scenes take of the "official" take. Yeah, I noticed right away she approached the microphone differently than in the actual video. Still, this was so cool to watch!
This video deserves more views and likes!
totally and absolutely love it.
one of the greatest bands in my opinion.
this reminds me of those magic shows where they show you how the tricks are done. i love the video even more after watching this!
wow! my respect for metric just rose another notch! Glad I could see that.

That must have been a lot of fun. Stressful too no doubt, but ultimately fun. Glad someone shot the extra footage, and synched it up too. Great job.
Oh so THAT'S how they did it! I was so confused when i first saw the music video
gahaha =] love that. So funny seeing them scramble around and just making it to their spots in time. Must have been satisfying to finally nail that down right.

It's clearly not the same take as the final edit, but still pretty cool to see how they did it.
My favorite Metric video. I was always wondered how they pulled it off. Never thought to search for the behind the scenes video. Late to the party again.
It's so funny seeing everyone rushing about but it looks so seamless in the final video.
Wow, I can only imagine the panicked feeling of GO! GO! GO! It looks like you guys had fun making the video, which is awesome. Now when's that Sick Muse video coming out?
That's cool how they did it! They were pretty slick with all that ^^

This was incredible! I seriously didn't think it was all done in one take. You guys just tied with Mute Math on the "bands that make amazing videos" haha.
It seemed to me pretty obvious this was an one take video. But it's just great to see the way they did it. Awesome video!!
Exactly how I imagined it would've looked like behind the scenes of this amazing video...when I first saw this vid, I was laughing at what was going on just out of the frame. Pretty cool.
