    Gratz on 5K subs! You should also do highway 174 in Ottawa. It’s turning into the quiet the expressway despite its short run.

      Thank you. I did record a section of 174 last autumn, but it just looked like a mess with all of the construction that is ongoing.

    We just took a day trip to San Diego traffic and I must say freeways there are much nicer and less congested than in LA!! I have made a driving video from Santa Ana to San Diego that is coming up!

    Congrats on 5K subscribers! I-5 in San Diego is pretty cool! Also I heard something about CA-905 possibly turning into I-905.

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It seems likely 905 was numbered that way to eventually be turned into an interstate.

      @@AsphaltPlanet1 And it wasn't always CA-905. Back in the 70s and early-to-mid 80s, it was CA-117, and then the number was changed to 905 in the mid-80s when they extended it via Otay Mesa Rd. to reach the then-new Otay Mesa Border Crossing, though the area from just east of I-805 by Brown Field and to the Otay Mesa Border Crossing was not of freeway standard and had at-grade intersections until around 2000, if not even a bit after 2000. They built the current CA-905 freeway to bypass Otay Mesa Rd. and Brown Field in the 2000s, and just recently completed the interchange with the CA-125 toll road, which had been a partial interchange for close to 15 years, and now they're building a similar CA-11 extension to a planned future third border crossing to try to alleviate some of the horrible border traffic at both current border crossings, as well to allow better access to the binational airport they have in that area.

      @@cjs83172 CA-905 was once signed as I-905 in 2003, but it didn't last long. It soon turned back into a state route.

      @@jayiiful And those two signs on NB I-5 that had CA-905 signed as I-905 when the signs were changed over in late-2001 to the current reflective signs were almost certainly erroneous. They have a similarly notated road side sign on SB I-5 approaching the I-15 interchange noting it as I-15, even though it's officially (and will always be) CA-15.

    Out of curiosity, I wonder how many people were not paying attention, and missed that last exit in USA (I like to call that the last chance to exit) when they did not intend on going into Mexico, resulting in an unintentional border crossing? I hear it can be a PAIN if that happens!

    Great drive! Did you know Canada and US has more road traffic accident death rate than Japan? US has 10.92 per 100,000, Canada has 5.17 per 100,000, and Japan has 2.37 per 100,000.

    There was an 18 wheeler driver driving eastbound on the westbound interstate 210 from Pasadena to Duarte California like if the driver was in Manchester England since eastbound’s on the left hand side with Manchester’s freeways. This driver wasn’t driving the right direction when it comes to driving in the U.S. the driver needs to get arrested for driving east on the left side of the road since we don’t drive that way in the U.S.

    To think that at the very end of I-5 is the end of the USA, but still a bit more than 1,000 miles to reach the end of land

    Dear Asphalt Planet. I'm a Japanese who makes music as a hobby. I would like to use part of your video and upload it to My TH-cam (Kenny Kugai) because it matches the image of the guitar song I made recently. Not used for profit. Also, if you don't mind, I will introduce your channel. Part of Interstate 5 - San Diego South.
