Akk Ultra wide-band 5W VTX

- The previous AKK 5W/10W VTX's I looked at were very powerful, but a little difficult to mount on a regular quad. This new 5W version, aside from having an ultra-wide band from 4.9Ghz to 6Ghz, also has standard 30.5mm mounting holes so is much more quad-freindly. Let's install it and fly it!!

Manufacturer need to stop giving those pigtails with high watt vtx. They raise the swr enough to fry the rf amplifier. Direct antenna connection is the best way.
Very interesting review. Beautiful skies and water. Too bad the wind was so high and I’m sure the winds were even greater aloft. One thing that comes to mind with the dodgy ERS numbers. I had a similar problem that I had talked to you about a very long time ago and in my drawer way too many spare parts I had another brand new radio, master ERS and I switch them out and everything changed for the better. I’m not sure if you recall regarding that issue. And I wonder if the receiver is just not up to snuff?? I hope you have the opportunity to do some repetitive flights out of that area. I really enjoy the view vicariously.
Could be a dodgy rx. Trouble is that without the ELRS power on the OSD (like I had on Walksnail) it was difficult to establish where the issue was. So I'll definately fly that one again there (hopefully in less wind)
my guess is the little black thing on the wire is a voltage regulator for if you use 8s etc
I think it's only spec'd up to 6S - maybe, I don't think I can be bother to cut the heat shrink off to look though :)

Yes, that old R9 not performing at all...I can go 2 kms on 25mw on my TBS Crossfire...LC filters usually run both power and ground through them...The diagonal lines are almost certainly ESC noise....Had to laugh at your cows fan club.....lol...🤔😏😂🇬🇧
Perhaps - although it's been absolutely fine before. I'll do some more tests, but I can swap it over to something more official. The cows love me, they follow me around the field when I walk through it :)
More than worthless at 5w, illegal in most places unless your OSD is showing your licensed call-sign.
In many places it is - hence the call to check your local laws
put crossfire and 50 and that will solve the problem elrs is nice but it open source and even with radiomaster quality will be an issuse just like my boxer experience took them three times to get me the radio without problem were as my tbs tango and mamba radios worked with no problems, and i have had more elrs receivers go bad on me than tbs crossfire.
You say opensource like it's a bad thing lol the majority of our hobby is open source and that's the only reason it's gotten as far as it has. Also you're the odd duck majority of people are extremely happy on ELRS maybe you were using Matek receivers lol.
