Cold Weather and the ACCUAIR Suspension System on a Jeep Gladiator or Wrangler

  • Being that the ACCUAIR Suspension System for the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler does use an air compressor, whether or not it will still work in cold temperatures is a legitimate question. And, as luck would have it, this has been one heck of a winter for Cindy and I and with night time temps dropping down into the single digits. Needless to say, it's been a perfect time to see how it does.

    Cool to see the wheelbase change as you lower and maximize the bag level. I wonder if it's good to have the tcase in neutral when doing that so things don't lockup or jam as the wheels, front and rear driveshaft etc rotate ever so slightly in opposite directions when that happens. It's probably trivial. Very nice setup! The jeeps certainly can become an all consuming hobby, even when not wheeling.

    As always, excellent video content! Two questions about this Accuair kit. 1.) Do they have one available for a 2022 392 XR with the factory 35s? 2.) Factory driveshafts: do you have to modify or lengthen them? Seems like a very robust and well-engineered system! P.S. When will we see an update on your 392? We haven’t seen anything since the purchase road trip to Idaho last Summer.

    • @wayalife

      So, for now, we've been super happy with our 392 just as is, totally stock. That said, I will admit that we like this ACCUAIR system enough to consider it for our 392. Unfortunately, they do not have a bolt on kit for it at this time but, they are working on it.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not exactly correct. Each piston is controlled by an individual solenoid and so the other 3 would still be working. And, being that you still have a sway bar, that will help distribute the load but otherwise, yes, your bump stops would get more work. This isn't any different than breaking a spring and coming from someone who has broken one before, I can tell you that it's not the end of the world. @Jeff MacConnell We really do appreciate you saying as much. Yes, we have been making a lot of videos of this ACCUAIR Jeep but only because we only have a limited amount of time to work with it. Once it's out of our hands, that'll be it. Really glad to hear you trust that we do our best to show things for what they are and happy to hear our videos have been helpful to you as well.

    I'm surprised you never put on a hood bug reflector for Gladiator, or after market hook latches
