    With the cable being too short just stretch the cable. It's coiled and designed to be stretched.
    In terms of lowering ffb, just map ffb multiplier buttons.
    Also, make sure you have a powered USB hub with enough power to control everything. Usually at least 4w per port.
    Great video and wheel!

      would you need a powered USB hub if you are using this wheel with a Simagic wheelbase as well?

      Aside from Simucube, Simagic is the 2nd best you can get. The wheels, bases, pedals are top quality with all metal and carbon fiber materials all around. There is not cheap plastic or cheap materials anywhere, and all the wheels look like actual real racing wheels and not like toys. For me Simagic is the best when it comes to overall design if you want to build a proper rig (cockpit). And prices are not cheap but considering the quality, you pay for what you get...I don't even want to talk of other brands, but aside from Simucube and Simagic (and a couple more brands), all the rest are making overpriced toys.

      Agree. Love my Simagic wheel and pedals. They feel really solid with good quality materials, no frills. The software is also a lot better than it was several months ago. I'm sure Simucube is even better, but Simagic defo still sits comfortably above Fanatec for me.@@Foxiol

      I mean not at all really lol. It’s simucube if your rich , then simagic. Asetek is great but they still have 1/3 of a eco system so as far as I’m concerned that’s not a contender. Simagic is the best normal priced gear.

    I have had a Simagic Alpha Mini and the GT4 wheel ( not Alcantara ) for 2 years of rough simracing and they are as good today as when they arrived new . If the GT Neo is of the same standard it is a winner . I also have the P1000i pedals and they're great too, it seems the Simagic ecosystem is getting better and better .

    Jardier I just watched your video and enjoyed it, as I do with all of your video’s. An easy way to fix your short wire problem is to use a USB extension cord. You can find them online almost anywhere. I have been using Simagic products since they brought out the M10 wheelbase. They sell solid products. I hope this helps with your short wire issue. Thanks for all your content, by the way. They’ve been great to watch. Looking forward to see your races, this year. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾

      The weight in the center generates little inertia, the weight of the QR is imperceptible and it is not as important for the base as it would be important for the steering wheel grips to be very heavy.

    Hello Jardier:
    I love your videos. Excuse my poorly translated English. I also have DD2+ club sport formula 2.5 and am thinking of upgrading to a slightly larger steering wheel. I am evaluating LEOXZ XGT Pro.
    It is similar to the SIMAGIC GT NEO but does not need a USB cable, you do not need the Podium Hub (you need QR2 Leoxz) and you can operate the Fanatec base from the steering wheel while driving. The Leoxz is more expensive but it must be taken into account that the Podium Hub (€150) is not necessary and the Leoxz QR2 costs the same as the Fanatec one doing the compatibility work. Greetings.

    Nice video! About the cable: I also use a coiled cable and I simply tied a little rope around the 3rd last round of the coil and fixated it to my wheelbase/plate mount/rig.
    But maybe your usb hub /extention cable is a bit too cheap? I have a cheap hub were usb sticks almost fall out if held upside down and I also have a hub that can hold an external 2.5" hdd drive 😅

    Some of the features you can map on the wheel lights seems really cool but you have to glance the wheel to actually see them, which makes many things just a gimmick. Like helicorsa i just can't see being actually useful but TC or ABS flashes and maybe yellow flags would work. Seems like a really solid wheel for the price.

    I have the Simagic Alpha U wheelbase. By all reports it is superior to the fanatec DD2 and on par with the SC2 pro. Also Simagic quotes constant/sustained torque not peak torque. So its 23nm rating should be compared to the 20nm holding torque that fanatec quotes for the DD2 not the 25nm peak torque rating. Simagic is also constantly releasing updates making it better. Reviews said it was equal to the SC2 pro as of like 6 months ago. It’s only gotten substantially better since. My guess is it’s now probably on par with the asetek wheelbases.

    So do the settings you like but you know how you can keep 23nm on max torque? Alright keep that there but on the ffb setting in the software the setting top left turn that down to 60 or 70% you will notice a ton of details pop out. So what that does is it allows the signals to come through and not clip. So all of these details you arent losing.
    I got an ultimate also!
    But yeah you will absolutely love it. Just please try thos out. Race beyond matters taught me this trick hes been sim racing for 15 years and he dialed in his ultimate to feel like simucube.
    But yeah do that leave damper and things off. Keep smoothness at 1 and turn interpelation up to 4 or 5! That will reduce noise but allow details to come through still.

    Different cars have different RPMs and redline point. Ofc it would be annoying to change %s when you change the car. In Simhub there is a 'Car settings' (on the left side). There you can change at which RPMs EACH car will flash (in 'per car overrides'). It remembers each settings for the car and when it detects that you are driving for example Aston V8 your RPMs lights will flash earlier if you set it up like that.

    I'd say you are an "simracing enthousiast" that tries out new products. Yeah, it's not a review that is completely unbiased. Your nature is not to be negative about things in general. I look to other channels for review, but when you have a look at new gear, I ALWAYS click it right away to see your enthousiasm :)

    Looks great, I always wondered why you didn't use your Fanatec GT podium wheel you have fopr ACC. I have the Podium Porsche and Fomula 2.5 wheels, I use the Porsche wheel for ACC.

    Hey Jardier, I didn't realize you were running a DD2. Do you have both your ACC in-game and DD2 settings posted somewhere? I have a DD2 as well and race in ACC about 90% of the time. If it works for you, I know it'll work for me! Thanks!

    Awesome video as always. Did you notice any vibrating/rattling, sounds coming from the buttons on the wheel. I have just sent back my MOZA KS Wheel. Because the buttons rattled a lot, it was so loud !!! So I’m thinking of getting the GT NEO instead. Hopefully this wheel has better build quality 👍🏻

    how to set up it up that the rgb lightning works in ACC?

  • @RonJeremy514
    @RonJeremy514 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There could be an easy fix for the cable to not be unplugged accidentally: just like customizable mechanical keyboards, the company would have to replace the original cable with an "aviator" coiled cable, where the middle section of it is a 5-pin connection held together by screwing a metal fitting cap on it with your fingers. The other two ends plugging into the device and the computer are your typical USB connectors as usual (or in this case, there is a magnet plug but whatever). Simple as that.

    I think Fanatec really needs a GT wheel to fit into this category/size of wheel. The McLaren GT3 wheel is great but it’s really due a refresh or a V3 with better materials

      The maglink cable is just for 3rd party bases. Should still connect on Simagic bases via the pins/wireless

    Now they just need a round wheel that looks this good for under $300. I've been looking at buying a whole new set up and been going back and forth between Moza and Simagic. I prefer Moza's wheels and that they don't do wireless for data connection, but from what I've heard and read Simagic bases feel better and they might be switching away from wireless data on the wheels(the neo has a bunch of extra pins on it like Moza). I'll probably just wait a little longer, I've been waiting almost a year now anyway.

    How's your pace with 300mm wheel vs 270?

  • @MaartenRobijn
    @MaartenRobijn 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Cable tips: during normal racing driving, you will not rotate that much. During calibration: just unplug the magnetic connector. It's not required to connect while calibrating the Fanatec wheelbase. After calibrating, connect and then start the game. Other tip: place the USB connection rotated 90 degrees, so you connect it from steering wheel to the left (not to the back). If you understand what i mean. It means the stress on the USB plug is less and when the stress is high, it is more likely to unplug without damaging the connector. But yeah, it's a disadvantage to have a USB cable. Wireless (Bluetooth) would be nice, but's that comes with more expensive wheels.

    Hello Jardier, did you try fanatec mclaren gt3 v2 wheel? They are selling it for 200Euro and is working with DD2 without any issue just you will need to use it with metal QR2. I am using it with DD2 so would be interesting for me to see your opinion on that wheel as you have experience with other wheels. This Simagic wheel you can use also without podium hub, with just QR2 and Sim racing machine emulator or with leoxz qr2 core which is also emulating fanatec wheel for the base. You will save also some space between you and base as you will attach QR2 diractly to wheel.
