I loved that game Patrick. Clinical. This is what I have been saying for ages. You don't always have to sac your bishop to try to get a mate. Just gradually improving your position and winning pawns here and there. Gradually grinding your opponent down. At 2:57 I thought you were going to make an error but you thought it through. And at 4:46 you thought about e4 and then after Nf5 you could retreat the bishop to b8. But white would have had Ne7+ forking king and rook. It's not clear whether you saw this or not. But I am so glad that you played the patient Rfe8. You took control of the c file and took advantage of your opponent's errors. You made chess look easy today. I don't think that the engine's estimate of rating for a game are right. There is no way your opponent played like 2050. Today, I thought they played like 1300. But I thought you played like a 1500 or 1600 player and that is good enough. If you can keep this style going you will move through the 1500s early in 2025. That said, I think white resigned prematurely. You still had work to do.
The rating estimates after the game are inflated to make people feel better, I'm pretty sure. They almost always overrate players at this level. I don't think white resigned prematurely though. It's such a simple position, with a huge advantage for Patrick.

In game 587 Patrick was +4 in an endgame. He missed an easy win and then blundered his knight and lost. In game 582 it was an even position but Patrick was in time trouble. He moved his queen to a square where it could be taken for free by the bishop. In game 580 it was a rook and pawn end game. Patrick was a whopping +6 ahead and blundered a rook. He lost. In game 579 Patrick was 5.9 ahead. He missed the key move and lost the game. Honestly, Mark, I am not arguing about the position. It was a pretty easy one for black to win. But for those of who have been watching these games for a very long time we know that it's not over until it's over. :)

Another example of how low to mid rated players become weak and ineffective when there are fewer pieces on the board. Once Patrick got the queens and 2 minor pieces off, white had almost no plan or threat whatsoever. Much as sexy sacrificial checkmates look phenomenal, it's the much less often outcome.
18:34-18:38 I wouldn’t put too much stock into them figures. If a player rated 1200 has a perfect game the app will tell them they performed as a 2000 rated player
Good morning Patrick, nicely played again today and long may the streak continue! One thing to perhaps think about at 16:10 when converting winning positions is how to limit my opponents counter-play. and yes giving them the file will enable that for them so as their pawns weren't going anywhere maybe you could keep the open file until your K marches to d7, stop their rook infiltration and then proceed to mop up the board.
