UPDATE: So the digital release of the film has been updated with a different Joker performance that sounds a LOT more like Mark Hamill. It appears the initial release was using a placeholder.
“I care, Joker. About Gotham. about Justice. And if this is the end, at least I go out like this, being BATMAN” - a single line that hit about as hard as any punch he has ever thrown. Though that wasn’t exactly the same DCAU Batman we know, BUT THIS is how you truly honor THE voice of Batman. Looking at you game no one will speak of.
For me, I imagine Earth-12 Batman trying to keep the peace and justice in a chaotic time and he wanted to ensure, that even when the earth is going to be destroyed, Gotham would feel safe as the end arrives.
I was so relieved when I found out that Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League wasn’t going to be his last ever performance as Batman. The best Batman of all time deserves a better send off.
This trilogy largely sucked pretty hard, but I’ll always be grateful that they got Conroy in there. This way his final performance wasn’t just as Batman, but THE BTAS Batman, punching Hamill’s Joker in the face one last time, with an absolutely perfect final line to boot.
I haven't really been keeping up with DC, but I really liked Batman: The Animated Series. I'm really glad that Kevin's last role felt like a respectful book end to the original series. May Kevin Conroy rest in peace and I wish the Batman franchise good luck going forward. Also, thanks for the special shoutout at the beginning, Pup. I really appreciate it.
As someone who was literally born 2 weeks before BTAS 6:09 that hit hard, I was and always will be a Batman fan and Kevin is hands down the best, I may be miss remembering it but I do believe by the time I was 12 years old there was 8 different people who portered Batman, And as much as it made me sad when Adam passed I was equally as sad when Kevin passed but watching this, First time seeing it here in this video that scene destroyed me I actually had to pause, put down my phone and actually walk away for a moment, because that was a hell of a line and the way he said it had so much felling behind it that if someone told me this wasn’t the actual last lines he recorded as Batman I would not believe it, in my head and deep down in my heart this is the canon last time he was in a recording studio I will not take it any other way, And to top it off the watchtower is there so it’s implied this happened after JLU so Bats, knowing the world is ending, goes home changes into his old suit and stands on the building that most likely gives him the best possible view of Gotham to watch over his city one last time and then to get jumped by Joker, now that is art.
Unfortunately I never got to meet Kevin Conroy and that will be a painful lifelong regret of mine for the rest of my life😢, as in, not getting to meet him when he did his many public appearances since he was a regular at Comic-Con events. However to raise my self-esteem a little bit, another deceased Batman actor, I got to meet before he died, was Adam West. Reminding myself that I got to meet Adam West before he died does raise my self-esteem a little bit though. Also I did get to meet Mark Hamill last fall, but the pain and wound of not having met Kevin Conroy is forever permanent
For being such a disappointing movie I will admit the Kevin Conroy scene did get me and was such an amazing scene and very awesome and makes me sad that he’s gone but that’s just my opinion.
Honestly I like the Crisis Trilogy, sure it have Flaws but it still feels like a Good Movie with a complicated Storyline, still better than the CW Monstrosity, as for this Sent Off from Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as the Best Voices of Batman and the Joker, especially how this is the Last Time we would ever hear this Version of Kevin as Batman, Rest in Peace Cape Crusader, you might be gone but never Forgotten.
Kevin's voice did change in the 90's. I think during BTAS, he made his voice less gravely and more refined and youthful-like. He used that voice a lot as Batman in the 2000's and onwards
@@mitchfletcher2386 Are you sure? I didn't hear any gruffness. Then again, I might be mistaken. It's been years since I sat down and watched BTAS and mostly hear Kevin via the Arkham games.
I loved that scene, and it was a nice way to say goodbye to the animated series and Kevin Conroy's performance as Batman. I will still miss him as Batman.
Even with some weird animation, continuity errors, and whatnot, I feel comfortable in saying this is the sendoff Kevin Conroy deserved. Farewell Batman
I didn’t mind Mark’s Joker sounded a bit different, just wish we had joker like full blown cackling as the wave got closer to them. Cos the animation when we cut back to joker just before Batman grabs him is as if jokers been laughing for a while
Selfishly i wished kevin was the main batman that survives and that we saw throughout this crisis trilogy with him having a complete arc that concludes with him making the greatest sacrifice but this cameo hits just as hard and is among the best sendoffs we could’ve gotten
I'm so grateful that Suicide Squad kill the Justice League wasn't Kevin Conroys' last performance. This one scene right here is how you pay tribute and honor THE voice of Batman unlike that game.
They should recon Kill the Justice League as an alternate timeline or outside the main Arkham universe. Arkham Knight was the perfect last chapter in the series.
Ed Brubaker as a creator on Caped Crusader could be amazing with all the creator owned crime comics he’s done and a few appropriate masked characters too (i.e. Daredevil and Batman and his neo noir spin for the WildStorm universe in Sleeper).
I'm surprised how people can make long videos like this from a 2 minute clip, while I will probably spend just as much time talking about this when I compare the movie to the last 4 issues of the original comic.
22:50 This is nothing to do with Kevin Conroy, but when Bruce Timm and his fetishes in Batman and Harley Quinn & The Killing Joke were mentioned in the video, I couldn't help imagining Matt Reeves and Ed Bruebaker taking him aside when making Batman The Caped Crusader and saying something along the lines of "Remember, Bruce, it's 1 butt per person and just because a male and a female character have some chemistry and have a fight scene, they don't have to sleep together afterwards, you know." 😂
It was a sweet send off but Crisis on Infinite Earths has been done to death at this point. And no one wanted the DC Animated Universe to be erased from existence simply because one voice actor died and another retired from the role. No one expected frequent returns but in stuff like MAWS it’s nice to see references to that universe. Now I got to wonder if season three returns to the multiverse concept, can they now not reference the supposed worlds destroyed here? That seems unjust and creatively limiting. And what if this new universe fails? Reboot again or will we get to see a revisit of past animated world that was supposedly destroyed in this trilogy?
I should mention there’s still the rumor that Batman will return in a dlc for Kill The Justice League and Kevin already recorded lines for that before he died. But to be honest and I say this as someone who really cares about Kevin and Batman….. I hope the game gets discontinued before that happens. My reasoning as to why is because it would not only be a lazy attempt to fix Kill The Justice League’s story, it could still damage Batman’s character somehow and I just don’t want him to be in this disgusting game any further. I rather Kevin’s cameo in Crisis Part 3 to be maintained as his final performance because it’s pretty much the best way to give him a proper goodbye.
@@ChannelPup most of them, but especially the ones about the meaning behind Kevin Conroy’s last lines. I think it makes sense that they make us feel that way, but I’m not sure how reasonable it is to assume so much of the behind the scenes of what went into them.
The DCAMU is so cool but the TomorrowVerse is just kinda disappointing cause they had a plan but the lead of the TomorrowVerse got removed and replaced by someone who had no idea what was going on
@@ChannelPupI'm an idiot. I misunderstood what you said😅 When you said his theme, i thought you meant Shirley, the creator's theme, not the character Batman's theme. Sorry about that😅

He still is all of those things. 🦇💖

Coming from someone who's given up hope and faith on DC, even I admit, this was a beautiful ending for Kevin Conroy. R.I.P 🏳️🌈🦇
Seeing all the world's destroyed killed some part of the child in me. But it was cool to see the cameos
I’ll miss Kevin conroy as Batman and mark hamil as joker oh and Batman beyond is in the movie and part 2
The question being a chad
HOT TAKE: My personal favorites voice versions of Conroy and Hamill are from TAS
But I thought Mark DIDNT reprise his role in this instance. It was just Kevin, right?

I don't think so
his voice is closer to Robert Pattinson
than Kevin Konroy
and since Matt Reeves is involved he will be
Another thing that doesn’t makes sense: Joker shouldn’t even be alive at that point
