Very informative and equally funny. You are hilarious. Whenever she said I notice some people doing it the wrong way - the bow hold, or no finger flexibility, I was like yeah thats me. LOL. And, I no longer saw wood, I have improved but I think I now file wood, perhaps one day I will play actual violin.
And your facial cut, eyes and also style/accent resembles so closely to a Australian men's cricketer Shane Warne. Have ever anyone told you that? I for a moment in your video thought I was listening to the Ashes commentary already! Haha Again, not for a moment saying you are not femininely beautiful, just the resemblance. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time in making videos like these. I'm an adult beginner who's trying to cope up with the pandemic by learning how to play the violin. I've purchased all of your books and they are really helping me a lot along with your video tutorials. I just want to ask if there is something that I can do to improve my bowing technique. I'm having quite a difficulty in using the whole length of the bow. I don't have any problems bowing straight from the frog upto around 3/4 of the bow length, but I notice that when I reach the upper 1/4 near the tip I need to angle my bow to reach the tip. I'm not quite sure if it's because I have short arms (I'm only 1.5 meters in height) or is it because of incorrect technique. I hope you can help me with this. Thanks again and more power to you and your channel.
We are playing the violin.. not sawing a piece of wood 😂 . I think each time my arm tries go behind shoulder... I will remember this statement and stop the movement right there! 😀
You know I only have big problems with the half note when I try to change my string in a half note it makes a bad noise or it wont be a half note Sorry for bad english :(
I need help with my left wrist. When I went to the violin shop to look for a new bow, I asked the teacher if my vibrato was right because I have been self-teaching. She said my vibrato has a nice sound but she was concerned about my wrist because it is important to keep the wrist straight. Her vibrato comes more in the arm and she said mine is more in my wrist. Apparently, over time I can develop problems with my wrist like carpal tunnel or tendinitis, if I don't keep my wrist straight. That is scary because that kind of thing runs in my family. Mine just kinda hangs over the neck like a deflated balloon. It just constantly moves back to that no matter how much I try to keep it straight. I love playing the violin, but I didn't know you can injure your wrist. Maybe you can do a video on how to safely play the violin. hahahaha
Unfortunately I cant see what you are doing with your so I cant comment on that and you may well have your wrist in the wrong position - which may cause issues.

It is probably because you are new and will develop this technique in time. Its not an uncommon issue as a beginner.
