Ashley, you are without a doubt, the BEST sewing instructor I have watched on TH-cam! I am a lifelong seamstress of both clothing and craft items. (Sewing for 67 years so far.) I explained that to encourage you. One suggestion that I have is that you consider doing a close up shot of all of the hardware you will be using, before you start. I would print the names on paper and place each corresponding item under its name. In order to, individually, identifying what everything is. Then as you explain what you are about to do, everyone will remember what the different components are. By doing it at the beginning. You wouldn’t have to readjust your camera every time you pick up an item of hardware to identify it. I know how to install rivets. But I was confused when you said that you were going to screw one in. It was at the end of this video. I’m only aware of the type that has a male and female side, that are squeezed together tightly. Thank you, very much for taking the time to make your excellent videos! I wasted no time Subscribing and ‘Liking!’ I am definitely looking forward to watching videos that you already have available, and those yet to be made! You are very talented, and it’s kind of you to want to help others! God bless you for that! I’m looking forward to learning from you, and seeing things that I would also enjoy making. I appreciated the fact that even though you were primarily using a pattern that someone else designed, you modified it as you chose. And you gave good explanations for why you recommended doing something a certain way. You are a very good teacher!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! This is definitely an older video so I have changed some things about my tutorials over the past year, hopefully for the better 🥰 I like your suggestion for the hardware! I’ll definitely give it a shot!
Thanks Ashley for the great video. I just wish everyone on YT would put out videos like you have. I get so tired of the giggling, non-stop chatting, playing with the cat, unorganized video posters. I say to myself “get to the damn point already”. You’re a refreshing change.
Thank you so much 🥰 I know many youtubers choose to do live videos because editing is really a time consuming chore to say the least. But live isn’t always realistic for me. I have way too many kids and feel really bad telling them they have to stay out or be quiet if I’m live 🤣 at least if I pre-record I can just edit them right out.
Great video Ashley. Thank you so much for sharing and showing your version. Every one has their own way of making the exterior flaps and the pockets. I always have my working pocket with the card slots and the zipper pocket together, so the other side is free for other things. The lovely thing about making bags is creating them to your own liking. They look so different with every choice of material used.
I love this pouch and have a lot of these. I use one for myself. I'm completely envious with your ability to sew the final topstitching. Mine always comes out wonky. Thanks for the tutorial.
Lots of practice!! I have probably made 40 of these in the last year haha. I promise the first half of them had wonky top stitching on that last part ❤️

@@Six-Stitches I've probably made 20. So I guess I have a few more to do before I master this. LOL.
Great video! What type of Juki is your machine?
Hi! It’s a Juki DU 1181-N
I’ve made a few of these but still not sure if I will continue. Love your videos Ashley!!😊
It’s one of my best selling! I’d love to see you make some more ❤️
@@Six-Stitches after watching your videos and seeing some of the modifications, I think I’ll try it again. The zippers used to trip me up.
Perfect timing for this pattern!
Yay!! I hope you enjoy 🥰
I’m on the hunt for a new machine and would like to know the model of your Juki?
My Juki is a DU-1181N :)
Thank you!
You're very welcome!
hi, is your strap the same as in the pattern? if not what is the length?
I’m not sure to be honest! This strap is the whole length of the vinyl roll. So approximately 55” long
What interfacing do you use
Decovil light!
What do you keep in the pockets behind you hanging on the wall?
I keep all of my printed patterns and pattern pieces in those 😎
Do you make these?
During the final sewing, what do you do when you get to the zipper tabs? Push the towards lining?
Yes!
