    Love this bag. I used #5 zippers for the outside side zips and they worked great. I did not change the seam allowance.

    I just had lunch with a friend who had this - someone had made it for her. i asked her to get the name of the pattern, and this is it! It's the best cell phone bag I've seen, and I'm 2 years late in finding it. I'm so glad you did the video for it - you explain so well, and it's easy to follow along. So this will be on tomorrow's agenda!! Thank you, Siah!!

    Your tutorials are wonderful and I especially love how you carefully narrate all the sewing details and resource information for us. Regarding using a domestic sewing machine, I have a Brother Tough n Strong domestic sewing machine that I use for all my bags. Here's what I did, to convert my domestic machine, I began by ordering a walking foot, nylon 70 thread, 18 needles, and changed the tension dials to the highest stitches to accommodate the thickness/tension of the thread for my machine, Also, tip, I use the affordable fusible foam to line my bags I order from Amazon - The finished products are gorgeous! Siah You make learning how to sew these patterns a joy and Thank You again, Mary Ellen

    OMG, SIAH!!! This is the 2nd one of these I’ve made so far! The first one I’m keeping for myself. It’s totally made out of waterproof canvas which was a little bit tricky…especially the card slots, and also with not being able to top stitch the lining it makes it a challenge sometimes to open the zippers without the waterproof canvas getting in the way! Ugh!!!
    You are so much fun to watch. I can’t believe you do the whole thing live, I can’t tell you how many times I had to rip stuff out!!! Lol. I’m a new bag maker! My addiction started with mask making, and it went on from there!

    It's so weird... I'm making this along with you and for some reason my credit card slots are way longer than my card slot wings. By about 3/4". Not sure what I did wrong. I measured all the lines going across per the pattern piece. And measured then with a ruler as well to make sure and yes my top is on the top. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I'm just going to keep going and trim the bottom extra 3/4" off and hope for the best... Lol

    I think your tutorial is amazing! And I appreciate that this is her first pattern, but the directions I have on my pattern were terrible. Without this video I would never have finished. Your directions are not the same as the written pattern. I read it over and over and referred back after you completed a step, they are different. I have been making bags for 20 years and this was not written well. Thanks for the video.

      I too got confused by the written instructions vs. what Kassiah did. This is my first one but I think I can now figure out better how to construct it. I ended up with the zipper pocket on one side and card slots on the other. Should be OK, I think.

    Hi, I have been watching you for a couple of months, and love your tutorials, love how you take your time sewing and do not speed sew, this way we can better see what you are doing. couple of questions if you do not mind: Do you think this is beginner friendly? If not, what pattern would you recommend for beginners. and what type of thread, weight, brand, etc. and do you use the same thread in the bobbin? Thanks so much and keep doing what you are doing!!!

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, i think this is more of an advanced beginner type of pattern. For beginner just practice a basic hobo type of bag to get a feel for how the bag is assembled and add to that. Each pattern should have if they are beginner friendly, I think Swoon has a couple and Needle & Anchor Supply Co. does as well! I use a bonded nylon 69 thread, but I also am sewing on an industrial which can handle the thicker threads. Yes I use the same weight in the bobbin. Hope this was helpful! Thanks for watching!

    Hi All, Curious, I would like to not use a swivel hook. I see some examples on the show & tell page with them. Has anyone here done two D or square rings instead of one and swivel hook. If you did, did you take another 2 1/2" for another D-ring tab from the strap or cut it from scraps? I just don't want to make my strap to short! Thanks!

    This was a great tutorial. I want to get the pattern. Did you use canvas or cotton for the floral material? Also, how do you know when to use a 1/ 4" or 3 /8" seam allowance? Does the pattern tell you? I've had a couple of patterns that leave out that info. I'm still new at this so I need that info.
    Thanks again for being a great teacher!💗

      Any kind of woven interfacing would help good

    So darn cute. Ordered. Did you mention that for the front flap you lessened the dimensions by 1/4 inch all around for BOTH interfacing and Decovil?

      Just the decovil

    would be helpful if the lining was not the same as the front piece, having hard time keeping things in the right orientation

    Hello. Greetings from Norway. I love your videos. I wonder where do you by your name tag that you put on the bag. I also want to ask if you would make a video for a pc bag with a slot inside for the pc. And extra pockets for the charging cable, mouse etc. ☺️🙏🏻

    What is that tool called that you use to help push out the corners? I am glad you made the video i couldn't understand half of that from the instruction sheet. Really looking forward to making it! Looks amazing!

    Gosh, I hate to bug you but, I am a newbie to bag-making. Throughout the video, you say
    "stitch these ends together" and I am not sure if you mean baste or sew, as you don't give stitch length most times. Thanks for being so patient with me.

    • @SiahSwag
      @SiahSwag  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I baste it’s usually done at a large stitch length. When I actually sew the seam allowance it is a smaller length. Hope that helps!!

    I think when I finally get the nerve to start making bags, I will need to colour match the thread. I dont think I will be able to use the same thread throughout the whole bag. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

    I saw this exact design by another designer 4 years ago. It is basically identical to the wallet/ clutch by Owl Be Sewing called The Maggie Bag. It is here on TH-cam posted 4 years ago. I thought I had seen this design before and thought she changed her name but she is still on TH-cam as Owl Be Sewing. So is there an issue buying a pattern from ENDesigns if Owl Be Sewing was the actual creator? Or are they the same person? I just want to be sure I am not buying a copy of another creators pattern and have trouble if I go to sell it. I am not sure how that all works but don’t want to have any issues.

    Thanks for your great instructions. Love this bag. What model is your Kingmax? We have a Kingmax but it is for heavier leather and you can’t sew fabric on it. I’d like an industrial that sews cotton, vinyl, light leather, canvas, faux leather, etc. thanks. I’m in Colorado as well . We bought our Kingmax from Ralph’s. You are excellent at instructional videos!

    Do you think a pair of readers (glasses) would fit on one side of this bag? My friend doesn't really use cash but needs her readers.

    Could you use hardware that would make the strap totally detachable or a wrist strap?

      Yes I don’t see why not
