I needed new inspiration for clear vinyl and jelly vinyl. Thank you for your well-done tutorial and for the free pattern!
Thank you!
Me again! What machine is your one? Thank you
Hi! It’s a Juki DU-1181N
Great video! What type of Juki is your machine?
Hi! It’s a Juki DU 1181-N
Love it!! what machine are you sewing on?
Thank you! It’s a juki du-1181N
So you know for next time, Jess made a tutorial 3 years back. You might check it out. I thought you did fine.
I love making zip wallets like this, but I find nicely topstitching it freaking impossible because of the inner bulk (even when just using standard fabric with non-bulky interfacing). So I just don't, and it looks fine without. As much as I love a topstitch, I will continue to love it from a distance when making these.
This looks lovely! I love those tones!
Thank you!
Thanks for a great tutorial on this cute wallet!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you Ashley.
I missed it! I thought you'd still be going 😹 it's cute!
Gm. So happy I made it! Love the colors.
Thank you!
It’s really cute
Thank you!
Can the 1341 handle thinner materials, like for tshirts or summer dresses? Or possibly even spandex/lycra? I am trying to find a sewing machine that can handle thicker stuff (like leather belts) while also being able to handle thinner materials. I cannot fit two sewing machines in our house due to space constraints. So I am looking for a good general purpose one.
@@xephadoo I think you would experience significant bunching and the 1341 would enjoy your thin materials as a mid day snack. But I would encourage you to reach out to sunny sewing and tell them exactly what you said here! I’m certain they’ll have a machine they suggest for your needs ❤️
@@Six-Stitches nice, thank you for the info and suggestion! I'll reach out to them.
@@Six-Stitches out of curiosity, what would be the thinnest project you would try on this?
Can I ask how often do you use your cylinder vs your Juki DU1181N ....just want to get either one based on people's usage ....the reason I ask I see more people use their Juki industrial rather than their cylinder .....I know it's great for top stitching but I don't want to buy something that expensive just for top stitching .....I see a lot of people make amazing bags just with their individual machines ....so I'm learning towards industrial but would like to get your opinion if I could please. Thank you
@@DC-ss5dl So, I love my cylinder arm. I do. But I’m only 5’ tall and the pedestal is VERY high even at the lowest setting. I do know they have since made it lower but I haven’t been able to get a response on if I can pay for a lower stand 😔 So I have only used my cylinder arm a handful of times because it’s really challenging for me to reach it. I’m hoping they’ll get back to me soon about the lower stand and that will help.
@@Six-Stitches thank you 😊
What are the pink add ons to your machine? Where did you purchase?
They are 3D printed parts that hold down my table.
OMG I love it! I especially love the handle hardware and everything comes together
Thank you!
What stitch length do you use/
It really depends! Most of the time I use a 4 though.
What interfacing do you use
Decovil light!
😘😍🥰
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Your video is AMAZING!!! I followed along and the bag turned out GREAT!! Thank you!!
Thank you!! 🥰
So cute! I think I need to try a vinyl Mac pack, thank you. What stitch length do you use for vinyl?
I usually use a 4 but it can really depend on what I’m doing. For construction I definitely use a 4 though. Sometimes for too stitching I’ll do 4.5-5
Thanks
I’m so excited I have mine coming on Monday. Thank you for the video now I know what to expect.🎉
Have fun!
Ashley, could you please tell me the width of the finished wrist strap and hardware?❤
I used 3/4” hardware for this bag!
❤Thank you!
Great tutorial with minimal ads. Thanks. Wee question…best method for getting creasing out after turning bags? I hate the way they look after turning. Hair drier does nothing for my bags. Thanks again x
I have a tiny cricut press that I will put inside that bag and press it. That’s the best way I have found so far and honestly, it’s not that great. You could also try stuffing your bag with a warm towel straight from the dryer. I have heard that works well but have not tried it.
@@Six-Stitchesit all looks amazing until I need to birth the bag 😭 I tried a few things before gifting the last ones including using the tiny heat press from the inside and even covering the vinyl with cotton and ironing over it but it never took them all away but did look a little better. Thank you for replying ❤
I enjoyed watching your tutorial. Very easy to follow. May I suggest you add a bit of light to where you are sewing to show more of the needle and sewing foot. It does help to see the pieces being stitched together. I really liked how the pouch was easy to sew. Very nice!
Thank you! This video is a lot older and I have since added a lot more lighting 🥰
Lovely new pattern and your fabrics are gorgeous together.
Thank you
How do you remove your rivets? Do you use a special tool?
Yes, I do have a rivet removal tool but sadly I have had it for so long I’m not sure where I even got it anymore 😭
I sure do like a nice shoulder bag. This pattern is so sweet!
It is though!!
WOW I love the way you sewed the curves! Curves are my nemesis! lol I’m so happy I found this video as I was feeling a little intimidated with this one, but you explained everything so well! Thank you!
Thank you! So happy it’s helpful for you.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for making it! Seriously wanting to purchase this machine. Are you still happy with your choice, and do you like the pedestal type stand?
You’re welcome! I am still happy with it but unfortunately it’s hard for me to use because I’m under 5’ tall. That being said, they are making the pedestal shorter now and my only regret is not waiting a bit longer to buy it because if I had the shorter pedestal I could absolutely use it more! If I want to use it the only way I can is standing 😭 which is soooo tough for me.
I got the red and black one for a friend and it is beautiful. He loves it! Thanks so much!
Yay!! So happy you and your friend love it!! The red and black one is a favorite for sure 🥰
Such a cute bag! Where is the webbing from?
Thank you!! It’s from fabric therapy!
Ashley, you are without a doubt, the BEST sewing instructor I have watched on TH-cam! I am a lifelong seamstress of both clothing and craft items. (Sewing for 67 years so far.) I explained that to encourage you. One suggestion that I have is that you consider doing a close up shot of all of the hardware you will be using, before you start. I would print the names on paper and place each corresponding item under its name. In order to, individually, identifying what everything is. Then as you explain what you are about to do, everyone will remember what the different components are. By doing it at the beginning. You wouldn’t have to readjust your camera every time you pick up an item of hardware to identify it. I know how to install rivets. But I was confused when you said that you were going to screw one in. It was at the end of this video. I’m only aware of the type that has a male and female side, that are squeezed together tightly. Thank you, very much for taking the time to make your excellent videos! I wasted no time Subscribing and ‘Liking!’ I am definitely looking forward to watching videos that you already have available, and those yet to be made! You are very talented, and it’s kind of you to want to help others! God bless you for that! I’m looking forward to learning from you, and seeing things that I would also enjoy making. I appreciated the fact that even though you were primarily using a pattern that someone else designed, you modified it as you chose. And you gave good explanations for why you recommended doing something a certain way. You are a very good teacher!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! This is definitely an older video so I have changed some things about my tutorials over the past year, hopefully for the better 🥰 I like your suggestion for the hardware! I’ll definitely give it a shot!
That’s so cute!
Thanks!!
❤
So cute
Thank you!
Love your Sea Jewel, Ashley! 😍💚 Thank you for the video! ✨
Thank YOU for another incredible pattern 🥰
Very cool!
Thanks!
I got the matte blue/purple dragon. He's so cute! He was packaged so well and arrived in perfect condition, even the horns. Thanks Ashley!
Yessss! I’m so happy you said that! I was really worried about shipping with the horns so we made sure to print the section that has the horns EXTRA STRONG so they hopefully wouldn’t break in shipping 🥰
OMG this is BEAUTIFUL!!!! i need a yellow one for my hubby! He goes by YellowDragon!!!!
We can definitely do a yellow one!

What is the name of the fabric in your lining from blended thread? The combination is gorgeous!!

Is your lining canvas or wpc? Think its from Blended Threads fabrics.
That’s correct! It’s a blended threads canvas for my lining print 🥰
