    Wow. truly so simple yet profound I thought I breathed through my nose and kept my lips together. What the dif?! The first night no difference. The second night I did I felt so much better. I actually was really rested.
    My husband snored and sometimes he'd even stop breathing too. I let it totally be his choice. It took him a while to really feel benefited from it.
    Now, his breathing has changed. He wakes up with now feeling great. It truly is so simple, easy and yet profound results.

      I lay on my stomach with a 3 pillows to rest on and then I bring my arm up onto the pillows and rest my chin on the V shape of my arm (Where the elbow is) that way there is some force keeping my lips tight.
      I dunno how effective this is cause I probably move around and I always forget to check what position I was in. But when your getting good sleep your body should be paralyzed.

    • @MagicDuckify
      @MagicDuckify 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I have stuffy nose cause of allergies sometimes and had the same fear. What I did initially is just tape the middle of my lips so that I could still breathe through the side of my mouth if necessary. You can also get tape that you can partially breathe through (I use www.consciousbreathing.com/product/sleep-tape/). The weird thing though is that 99% of the time, the opposite will happen. What I mean is that you will wake up breathing perfectly through your nose. My theory is that the forced nose breathing triggers some natural processes that open up the nose passages, like the nitrogen gas from the lungs getting into the nasal cavity.

      Hey whoever you’re I hope you’re trying this method now, I’m have been posting comments on ppl like you who are doubting mouth taping, as it personally benefited my sleep (I started 1year ago)
      I want to share the benefits and why you should do it.
      1) lesser to no ulcers in my mouth
      2) no more waking up in the middle of the night due to dried out painful mouth
      3) wake up feeling refreshed instead of waking up feeling not rested
      4) no more congested nose (unless I’m sick with flu or legit sick)
      I was scared that I might die from congested nose while taping my mouth at first , but think about this, our brain program our nerves to survived.
      And just imagine this, if someone is pressing a pillow against ur nose and mouth to stop you from breathing, do you think you would continue falling asleep to death or wake up due to lack of oxygen. It’s logic isn’t it? If your nose are really that congested that u cant breathe through them with a taped mouth. I believe you would wake up to realise that. Take my experience for me, I never wake up in the middle of the night with congested nose ever since I started mouth taping.
      And if I helped you, please help me answer these two questions:
      1) do you have asthma or childhood asthma
      2) do you have any underbite or overbite ?
      As mouth breathers are usually relatable to sensitive nose, which some cases might led to asthma.
      And almost all mouth breather develop crooked teeth or worse, underbite/overbite
      Thank you and cheers, I hope you sleep better at night w this method as I know how frustrating it can be sleeping 7-8hrs ended feeling not rested.

    I think it it dangerous to advocate this. No offence i think this guy is higly intelligent but come on! What about those who suffer from sleep apnoea, nightmares/night terrors and pre-menopausal women who experience hit flashes andwake in pure panic with palpitations ? Is this not a little irresponsible ....?

    • @colinthomson5358
      @colinthomson5358 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you honestly think your body would not wake up if it was struggling to breathe? People probably do it all the time by moving the pillow and blocking their mouth and nose. The body would notice something is wrong and either try to jerk you into another position or wake you up.
      The nose breathing sleep is to help all those things you mention.
      BUT the tape doesn't seal your mouth shut. You can still talk and even drink as it is just a little pressure keeping your lips together.

    • @clairelynch4928

      @@colinthomson5358 Where in my comment did i say that you wouldn't wake up if the body was struggling to breathe? I think i mentioned about waking though, but sure just let's ignore that eh?!
