Thank you for this video, I’m Day 6 after ACL surgery and its a struggle, physically and mentally. I’m so bored and it’s hard to stay positive, but good to see your journey and that it’ll get better.
I'm day 14, just took off my bandages and I'm struggling with physio. My stitches are drying up and it feels like my stitches are going to tear when I try bending. Should I continue as normal as when I had bandages and the stitches weren't "dry"?
Going through my second ACL reconstruction (also other leg) and I couldn’t relate to anything more than this. The mood shifts from positivity to anger to negativity, mixed with workouts on my other extremities. Appreciate the workout ideals
Two weeks after ACL and meniscus repair surgery, quad tendon graft. So far so much better but those first few days were the hardest thing ever! For anyone reading be patient time will go by fast!!
You are doing great Delilah.. it really takes strength to manage yourself twice through such a traumatic injury. I understand how it feels for a sporty person to keep watch on every step of themselves to recover from Injury.
Thanks for this video. I'm currently three weeks post OP on my second ACL + meniskus repair (also the other leg) and this video gives me some currage to get through with it. It's though comparing it to the first recovery. This time I have to walk 6 weeks on crutches in total until I am finally allowed to put some more weight on the injured knee. As a person that is quite active it's been hard to reduce workouts and the mental battle of staying inside while life goes on outside is difficult.
Hey Delilah! Hope you’re doing well, just wanted to say how refreshing it is to hear another athlete deal with the struggle of going thru an ACL injury & recovery. It’s been some of the darkest points in my life but I continue to look at it with a positive mindset. I could relate to most of the stuff you were talking about too, so just thought you deserved to hear this🙏💯
Ha..... Try have a complete ACL, MCL AND MENISCUS RUPTURE. Thanks for the video. I'm 3 weeks post op and only now starting to feel normal again. I've broken many bones in my body and gone through a lot of rehab. This is by far the worst thing I've ever had to deal with. Stay healthy ppl. Positive mind and healthy bodies.
@@chadoliver23 Hey there - sorry to hear. My physio has kept my bend at 40 degrees max for 6 weeks. I'm braced and straight until the 6 week mark. They said the most important is not to strain the MCL and keep the ACL straight. I'm in week 6 now and it's feeling a lot better, starting to load bear now only. GOOD LUCK
I feel you there, I completely tore my ACL, PCL, and LCL, 14 weeks post op and I can bend at 117 but and haven’t gotten fully straight but trying to stay positive
I've never related harder to anything ever -- "I thought a change of scenery would make me less angry and it didn't." About to go into an ACL reconstruction/meniscus transplant, less than a year after a hip labrum repair, so just know you're not alone in the repetitive injuries :)
Best wishes for a full recovery! Full, not fast. Play the long game and listen to the PT! I need to go and get mine done. I had an ACL recon in 2004 and I've stretched it and it hurts since 2020. But I'm so scared of operations I've been hoping it would get better but it really hasn't. Need to just face facts and get the op done. But thank you for the upbeat positive video. Makes me motivated just to face my fear and get over this nightmare that I've lived with for the past 4 years.
@@hahaharden2506 thanks for asking! Doing pretty good. No pain and trying to get more strenght by the day. Mobility is still only like 90 deg. Max, but I think it’s ok for 2,5 weeks post surgery. It also depends on the swelling level. Unfortunately due to meniscus repair I have to use cruches for 4 weeks total after which I can really start walking.
@@Ronk3li ohh same surgery so I wanna learn your progress going how¿ and I think it looks very well. I am in the 4th day of after post op and i have some pain exactly.. what do you recommend for me for first two weeks¿?
@@hahaharden2506 Ok good! So the worst pain will be going away soon. I’m no expert and can talk only with my 3 week post-op experience. First week I was pretty much just resting, doing ice/cold treatment, keeping leg up, ankle pumping (to get the blood flowing) and trying to get the quad firing, also straight leg raises. Thats all I did the 2nd week as well before my physio meeting 2 weeks post op. Then I got my stiches taken away and some new excercises. I really didn’t do too much excercises but now later on I think I should pick up the pace by a little. But during 2 first weeks for you I wouldn’t be too worried about what to do. Just rest and try to get blood flowing and swelling down 👍 It’s not a sprint but a marathon! :)

Great to see your content. I'm about to have my acl and meniscus surgery so the insight into your experience is helping me gear up for whats 3 weeks down the road for me. What would you say is something you forget to prep for in preparation for the surgery?
Hey, hope this isn't too late but just had ACL surgery myself. Buy a few things: some sort of cushion for elevating your leg, nylon wraps for the handles of your braces (stops your hands and wrists hurting as much when you're on them), and a plastic sleeve thing for showering. You can cover your dressings with cling film but it's not as easy and gets annoying really fast. Finally, if you have family or friends that live in a more accessible house (e.g. a bungalow) stay with them post-op. I stayed at a bungalow for 5 days and wish I could have stayed 10 days really. Stairs are fine- if a little slow- but carrying things up and down is a hassle when you forget things. Recommend having an empty backpack for holding things as you go up and down them. Finally stay strong through the rehab- it's a novelty for a bit but after a couple of weeks it's dead boring. Just hang in there and trust the process. Good luck pal!

Oooh yeah always worried I put too much pressure on the leg. It’s so hard to know at first because it feels so whack all the time. Its really unsafe not wearing the brace during excersies. Especially on the first 2-3 weeks. Your leg should be in a straight position. You almost fell which would have mean another surgery... So anybody watching this after an ACl repair, be patient and dont rush the recovery.
I'm on day 4 and it is still so painful to get up and go to the bathroom. Even just laying down elevating my leg hurts sometimes. Also I think the cold water pump is getting my bandages wet. This sucks.

Did you have any swelling issues, on day 8 and my foot and ankle is so swole and it hurts so bad. Im doing sll the ice and elevation but its still swole
U R My HERO
so how long each recovery/rehab lasted? at least 6, 7 months?
I can totally relate your feelings because I also had an ACL SURGERY of my left knee 4 months ago
I know how its pain before surgery and how loneliness its feel...
But don't worry god is just checking our strength because he will gona give us something big in our life... Just don't giveup

Your subscriber 😊
3 days in on my first ACL reconstruction surgery, annnnnd I hate it. 😂 10/10 would not recommend
My doc asked me to not put zero weight on the operated leg until 2 weeks sucks so much lmao
I feel that. I couldn't put weight for 6 weeks because of meniscus repair 😢
Why do you risk it like that? With skiing?
kinda silly to be doing a spinning jump landing after prior ACL injury and reconstruction. Are you trying to get hurt???
How are u able to workout by day 7 or just even move that much? I’m on day 6 PO and I can barely get up to go to the bathroom my shin hurts so much
My first surgery recovery was way slower and more painful - I have a video on that one too in ACL #1. The second one in a row was just way easier from muscle memory
Internal brace surgery or normal screw one??
Yoo
Did you feel any numbness on your anterior aspect of ur leg also your on the shin bone !?!
On my first surgery (other side) yes for sure - see video timestamped here: th-cam.com/video/nkZ4LiFFS_I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=upaeelZWjeIHiaVm&t=197 I was worried blood clot but turns out the surgery cut just went across a nerve and fricked it up a little bit. the numbness went away after about a year
How did you get tare you another leg Acl?
Perfect 👍😍🙌🏻💪🏻🚴♂️
how much pain were u in
Thesame here 2months
Nice. @ least you mixed it up with both knees. Me being a glutton for punishment I’ve had 5 in my left. My last one never healed right. Knee looks like Swiss cheese. It’ll never be even close to 80%. Ride in fear 100% of the time. Ended my racing career.
How long in the brace
4-5 weeks ish until I could walk fully normally again without it
Nice didi ❤❤
Fibertape or bioscrew mam
I have nooo idea... I don't recall these options ever being brought up tbh
Me three acl surgery😅😅
On the same knee?!
@@DelilahCupp yes sam knee
@@newmatches from where did they got your graft as they might have had your hamstring graft for the earlier surgery.
Hi how are you

Im 3 weeks 1 day post surgery, first 5 days hurt like a bitch i had my right knee done 6 years ago when I was 16 that took like 10 months to recover but this one is like rapid recovery
