Wow, those people in that watch shop were so generous, personable, and easy-going. I see a lot of watch videos where the workers are just so snobbish and don't treat the customer that genuinely. Next time I am in London, I will check these people out.

@@jolin8493 I saw it on Van Rijk's Jeweller's website two months ago. He is a Toronto dealer specializing in used watches. That was in Canadian dollars, which was a real bargain. The watch may have been in poor cosmetic condition (scratches etc.). Of course you can't see it online.

I use way too much time on watches, videos, checking prices, forums etc, instead of focusing on making money and build a better future. I already have my dream watch with my one-watch policy (Rolex Explorer 2 polar), so why wasting my time on this? Watch business is the new gold rush with all kind of weird people trying to make money on products in high demand/low production, and increasing prices. After the next financial crash a lot of people will sit with collections who fell in value, just like in 2008, and regret they thought watch prices would never stop growing. I maybe, just maybe are willing to change my Explorer to a Platona, when the prices fell. Thats also a nice one-watch to use.

People who buy this kind of watch don’t know that they pay for the watch and the diamonds. But when it comes to selling the watch it’s only worth what the diamonds are worth. The watch Value is gone. And my problem is that these watches are not made in volume. These are collector pieces and destroying them breaks my heart

If you buy a Rolex worth 30k and it’s worth 50k with after market diamonds and I buy it with the diamonds now let’s say it gradually goes up to about 40k over time now when I come to sell the watch iced out it’s gonna be worth more than I payed for it since the watch has gone up. The problem is that when coming to sell the watch most likely you’re gonna be selling it back to jeweller you bought it from or another jeweller

No offence to Rolex, in fact i love its timeless design. In this case, RM played its role really well. Limited supply really drive ppl nuts. The higher the price, the more desirable it became, the stronger the perception towards the brand! Well RM was a good investment couple of years ago when u still can buy the watch for 1/3 of the price today!

Me as a nerd, those are the watches i throw 6 digits into :D with RM however the prices are flying, due to all the stock sitting at the dealers. If they finally decide that it's time to sell, we would see a bleeding market. But it's more profitable to hold on for them. Crazy!

To me a rolex, or a "desired piece" never had any magic. However, the tech that you can appreciate in HYT or RM watches is insane. Me as a nerd, those are the watches i throw 6 digits into :D
with RM however the prices are flying, due to all the stock sitting at the dealers. If they finally decide that it's time to sell, we would see a bleeding market. But it's more profitable to hold on for them. Crazy!
