What I really loved from the Disenchanted movie was the fact that the soundtrack really made you feel that you were in a fairy tale. Also, the beautiful moral of the movie which was that even though a woman didn't give you birth, if she raised you, she is your mom. I loved it.
I think the 'actual' message is like you should be grateful for what you have as Morgan was not grateful to have a supportive mom as Giselle

And that's what I thought about "Maleficent," how even though Maleficent didn't birth Aurora, she still took care of her and grew to love her, and since Aurora never knew her real mother, Maleficent was the alternative.
Morgan isn’t played by the same actress. She was the only returning character to be recast. This actress’s name is Gabriella Baldacchino. But the original, Rachel Covey, does make a cameo appearance with 1 line in one scene

@@grace5033 The current actress is too old for the role as well. The only recast her because the original actress declined the role, as she is focusing on composing right now.
I loved Disenchanted! it was such a treat to see these actors reprise their roles after a decade and a half and as always they absolutely nailed their performances!!!

the original actress for Morgan made a cameo in that scene where Malvina is first introduced as the evil queen. she's the one that says "for the festival m'lady" when Giselle forgot about it.
I also agree with your thoughts on Patrick's character, it truly felt like they didn't know what to do with him in the movie, there wasn't much growth even 😅
Eh I kind of get it? He was trying to find his “true purpose” in life lol. But yeah I wish they did more with him, and Tyson and Edward too! I feel like the male roles really got made dirty in this movie.
At first, I feel like his character is just forced and I didn't like it. The second time I visited this movie, I started getting it. He's just an unnecessary accessory because an evil queen or an evil step-mother doesn't need anyone. I'm actually surprised that they didn't unalive Robert because that's what happens in disney world LMAO
I really love how Disenchanted made Giselle evil like the typical evil step mothers in fairytales because she is also Morgan's step mother in real life. Everything is so magical!

I was pleasantly surprised by the plot to see her turn wicked. Also that Idina song was out of this world! But also that wand was way way too powerful 😅

Honestly the first time I watched this the first thing I thought when Giselle and Malvina started singing was that they sounded and looked like parallels of Wanda and Agatha, it looks too alike 😂
Also, Idina Menzel (Nancy) had me rolling on the floor crying with her song ‘Love Power’ I was SOBBING
My favorite part about this movie, other than the songs and costumes, is how it's about a love story between a mother and daughter. Not all love stories have to be romances since they're different kinds of love.
I needed more Patrick and Edward interacting, it was GOLD.

Well I think the reason why she’s turning evil is because when she wished for them to have a fairytale life she didn’t specify how, so now it put her life in a fairytale. And the fairytale that best fits her life is the Cinderella fairytale since she’s a stepmother of Morgan, and the woman with the black hair is now the queen and her son is a prince.

After this movie I need to see Amy Adams as more wicked characters. Like if there is a future Hocus Pocus 3 it would be awesome seeing her as a witch!
In "Enchanted," when Morgan and Giselle go on the shopping spree for the ball, Morgan asks Giselle, "Have you ever been shopping with your mother?" and Giselle answers, "I don't know. I've never had a mother." So they did mention that in the first film, but they didn't make a huge deal out of it. I loved this movie. I went into it with high expectations and it did not disappoint! It made me so happy that Nancy sang for once. Been waiting fifteen years for that! This is a great movie. 11:17 Easter egg: Those dresses are supposed to look like Belle, Snow White, and Aurora's gowns.
11:47 That's literally what I told my mom and aunties: Rosaleen (the black henchwoman) reminded me of the black stepsister Minerva in Brandy "Cinderella." Yeah, when my mom, aunties, and I watched this, we were finding all the parallels to all the other fairy tales. ("Don't forget about the chimneys") I said, "Well, she's not a chimney sweep!" (like "Mary Poppins"). When I saw the teaser trailer for this film, it showed Giselle pushing Morgan down a well, and I figured that was a portal to Andalasia since in the first film, the wishing well that Narissa pushed Giselle into was a portal to the real world. I was so happy and proud of myself that my prediction was correct when Giselle pushed Morgan into the well. 19:50 Tiana and Naveen in the right corner, and second later, two ladies that look like Belle. Well, the first movie had more of Robert and Giselle, so this movie wanted to focus more on Giselle and Morgan.
I was always hoping that they would make a sequel to enchanted and now they did, I’m happy…😊😊😊
The title of this video only cements my thoughts that Giselle sounds kinda like Wanda in a few of her villain scenes. Also Stan that Robert singing and dancing lmao. And yes it’s a real place. Kinda. It was filmed in Dundalk, Ireland! The settings they used in Ireland were Enniskerry Village Square, The Burnaby, The RDS in Dublin, Trinity College in Dublin, The Powerscourt Estate and Dundalk Train Station. Also the OG child actress is the one who mentions the festival to remind giselle about it
I was so happy that they actually animated a 2d animation. That made me so happy because they haven’t done that since princess and the frog.
Although I enjoyed seeing him initially, they could’ve put Patrick’s character in the hospital, like he was about to die and fighting for his life (bc the fathers usually never last in fairy tales) 😅
Lol I said it was like WandaVision because of the Wanda and Agatha vibe I was getting from the two + the altered reality 🤣 I loved it!
I’m very glad you enjoyed reacting to this film. While I do agree that original is iconic in its own right, I actually enjoyed the sequel just as much. I do love the themes they focused on especially how true love can found in the memories of the ones you loved. The moment that Giselle professes that Morgan is her true daughter no matter what and that Morgan accepts Giselle as her true mother is tearfully beautiful. I also how in the end, Giselle realizes that in reality there is no happily ever after, but there is living the rest of your life happily with the ones you love. I also loved all the musical moments especially Nancy’s song “Love Power”; that is how you showcase an iconic talented voice. If you were wanting more fairytale or fairytale like movies, I highly recommend Penelope, Ella Enchanted, Happily Never After 1-2, and Beastly.👩🏻🦰🪄✨👈🏻👸🏻❤️🖤
I agree! And I have seen "Penelope" (which I usually watch for Halloween), though I've never seen "Happily Never After."
The Love the amount of references in this movie that I didn’t realize at first but you pointed them out and they were funny when I realized they were there loved this vid Giselle being evil is my favorite part ❤

It was good!! The first one is definitely better but I really enjoyed this one. Beautiful set work and costumes and the ACTING. Amy Adams went OFF and Maya Rudolph was having WAY too much fun.
The first one has a charm because it's not taking itself too seriously, there is a much stronger sense of whimsy because the idea of what's happening is so unusual. Now here we have established characters doing unusual things that we now expect them to do, so the real treat for this one was Morgan getting to be an important character. And Idina Menzel singing finally lol
AND getting to see Morgan as an animated character and her getting a chance to be in Andalasia. And when it transitioned from animated to live action in "Love Power," it was SO good! I was blown away (and had chills all over because of hearing Nancy finally singing her own song).
I literally loved this movie so much, and couldn't wait for your reaction ☺
I wish we'd gotten more time in Monroeville to see what it was like before Gisele made her wish. Maybe make it a curropt town Gisele wants to reform and make safe.

This movie is so so extremely amazing! I love it so much. But the first movie it’s still my favorite out of the two still love this one too. Definitely a 8 or 9 out of 10. I loved the scene where Morgan is in andenasha (don’t think I spelt it right.) I kinda always wondered what she’d look like in animation so I thought that was cool. I started to cry during Morgan at Giselle’s memories tree was crying the rest of the movie after that. I literally said out loud oh no they’re going to make me cry and they did. Disney did such an amazing job with it. Love the videos! You do an amazing job!

She is probably the evil step mom because in the “real“ world she is a step mom and in most fairytales the step mom is the evil one and remember where that person (forgot her name) called herself a queen and now she is one 😭☺️💅🏼

It was much more fun than I thought it would be based on everyone's reactions tbh. The story is lowkey great?? It definitely could be told better though.
Like I feel like they should have done more to make Morgan into a leading lady and it would make the movie a lot better. You have to work extra hard to have two leads and both be interesting in such a short runtime, and while Giselle's personality was already established and is quirky enough to be fun, Morgan needed a lot of time and effort from the script to shine and she kinda got it bit also didn't? She's a bit one-note, first stand-off-ish (understandably so but that "she's my stepmother and that's all she'll ever be" stunt was TOO MUCH), then cute (and the spell just changing her kinda messed a proper character development arc). Even her animated version looks kinda bland AND overshadowed by Idina's song. oh well

The story could’ve been better if it was like 1 or 2 years after the first movie not a decade because if she stayed in New York for like 10 years she would’ve gotten use to that lifestyle! It does give me It’s a Wonderful Life vibes where someone wishes for a new life but realizes they have it better for their original life

I just learned they filmed in Ireland??? Edit: I just wish they hadn't cheaped out on the 2D animation. It's not BAD. The OG film just did some incredible, classic 2D animation; the characters are just so stiff in Andalasia.

To me, the first one was a lot better. I kept getting the impression during this one that the actors weren't as invested in these roles as they could have been. The song lyrics seemed off to me in this one, though I think that might have been because I was expecting songs similar to the songs in the first movie so the different style might have been what made it seem that way. Queen Narissa was entirely Evil Queen/Wicked Stepmother vibes while these two were tame. I didn't take either of them seriously. I think the stakes should have been a little higher. Neither Giselle nor Malvina were actually evil/wicked before the wish so neither of them convinced me they were either of those things after. Circling back to the stakes should have been higher, if it was shown earlier in the plot that Giselle was also being affected by the magic being drained out into the real world, instead of waiting until after the audience was told that was happening, it would have worked better. This is supposed to be visual media, not an audio book where the pictures follow the words. Movies like this need to stop telling the audience what's happening and let the audience figure it out for themselves.

This one was in concept a good idea but when it came to the dilivery sadly it fell short and that is the way most sequals are sadly and it was also slightly boring to me at times as well. I love the song Badder between Amy and Maya and yes Idina's song was amazing but no surprise there seeing how she is amazing herse;f. i saw her singing on stage in a play called If/then and it was so much better than hearing her voice through the screen. Yes you are right Maya's evil queen is very much Regina I never noticed that before so thanks for pointing it out...she is a good actress but there is only one Regina that will forever be Lana hands down. Any way this wasn't a terrible sequal I will admit but it could have been better if they had fully relized where they are going with it and the plot holes bothered me as well...there is no way Morgan would have magic or be able to save the day but I guess that comes down to the power of love between a mother and her daughter but still it lacks for me and just felt like they wanted to wrap it up so they used that idea. Grate reaction though.
