- Nick Plewniak has been a recognizable face on our channel for nearly a decade now. He's built crazy looking drag cars since at least 2013 when we first ran into him and the Stretchy Truck. His most recent creation "Straight Gangster" is another 1933 Dodge, stuffed full with a wicked twin turbo big block set up. It was still in its testing phase when we saw it at War in the Woods, but boy this thing looks promising. At least once it stops doing power wheelies at the finish line!

That truck lives up to its name and Nick pulls another one out of the bag! Fricking awesome.
So let me say this. Nick is a genius when it comes to cars and numbers on the build of a car. If that kid had a race shop I would pay big ass money for him to build me a race car. I watched every video of straight gangster build. The detail he goes into and why this has to be 1mm that way or 3cm higher is insane. Most underrated tuner and builder in no prep racing.
This dude is smart. I can tell by the way he talks he isn't an average racer/builder, he has some unique ideas, and big BALLS!

@4:50 As a 21 year military pilot, this is what we call 'rotation' when you're going down the runway. It's usually a good thing. This is an exception.
Nick gets this new build dialed in and he's going to be in the winners circle quite often next year.. he's learned alot from his other unconventional builds and he's put all that knowledge into straight gangster.. those power wheelies are crazy.. early congratulations to nick and Maddie who are about to be parents for the first time

Such a Fitting name for the ol 33 dodge. Lookin' at that sucker on the line loading up on a burnout, Reminds me of a 30s Gangster without a suit jacket on, sleeves rolled up ready to knock your teeth in.

Rear wing has its job. we have gone 10mph with the front wheels still on the ground at that wing/chassis setting. The bumps can /will toss the front end tho and that’s why we have now built a front splitter for the car!
That wing is the only reason the front end comes up. It looks cool but it's making the car a lot slower and less stable/safe. It's gotta go or he's going to crash.
Not gonna lie, this is VERY VERY unique in my opinion
Out of all of the rides Nick's been on, my favorite one is without a doubt The Dirty 30, that car was VERY unique and uncommon on the track and on the street👌🏾👌🏾

Could it be that huge rear wing that's making the front wheels lift at the line? The wing is really high and hangs way back. I can imagine it makes downforce somewhere behind the truck, and as it gets to the top end of the track, the wing is pushing down really hard and lifting the front wheels.
Was thinking the same thing but I have watched the truck before and it never pulls the wheels like that and other people have said there is a big bump at around 500 foot and they pull timing there to resettle the car
Is he the only one getting air off the bump in track?

Holy shit!! You would never guess that truck has active aero! And what a beast!
But just like Americans do he fails to recognise the active aero won't do shit because it is lower than the cab so the airflow is already flying high over that wing! If the moveable wing was on the higher wing it would work better but it's in a pointless position.

@@wellby5000 I know plenty about aerodynamics fella, do you? Look this wing won't do shit as the vortex coming from the front starts to barrel roll by the time it hits that rear wing! Learn aerodynamics before you try to show you know anything as it just makes you look American. Two main racers have joined the aerodynamic clubs (Daddy Dave & Jeff Lutz) and more will follow.
My opinion on the wheelie across the line is the wing on the back, at the higher speeds entering the traps the wing is unloading the front end like a plane does when it takes off. Maybe remove the wing completely and retune suspension to suit,or, Change angle on wing or lower it to, or, below roofline and maybe bring it back closer to the rear of car. Sick car, love the fact that owner built, raced and developed. Hope he gets it sorted. RICK from Australia.

I believe his wing is too far back from center of rear wheel to be beneficial to cars run. Maybe add frame to run rear wheels back a bit and keep the wheel (bumper stands) to a minimum, cause the wheelies will come back to bite him someday

Wow, how so many people think it’s the wing NOT if you watched nicks journey you would know that he doesn’t really that often due to that track condition. He is really young and if you listened the different front tires, people have to pay attention my God videos from street racing to motocross people don’t pay attention to what happens and they make comments without putting everything into perspective and taking all actual facts into it, people pay attention!!!!

There a lot of safeties built into This car but yes it’s not ideal and we have since built a front splitter for the car to give a lil extra insurance!
