I'm so glad that Lilith was brought into the Frasier series. As Frasier was coming to a close, they included her in an episode or two leading up to it. She and Frasier proved their friendship towards each other
I have never been to New York and I have no desire to. But if I were to imagine Bebe as Morticia Addams, I am envisioning a character like Lilith Sternin only a hell of a lot darker and a hell of a lot more pasty White.

I agree but then again sometimes....less is more. The show used her just enough to make us want more of her. Kind of brilliant. I've always loved her sudden reappearance. Great actress and absolutely drop dead gorgeous. So very sexy.

That's the brilliance of the thing, Frasier had much more life experience through his interactions at Cheers, while Niles stayed in the same stunted mental environment that they grew up in.
Actually Frasier wasn't supposed to have a brother when they started working on the new series. It's only after they saw a photo of David Hyde Pierce and were amazed at how he looked like a younger Frasier is what changed their minds.

I sort of got it, because of her colouration, very pale skin contrasting with all that beautiful long black hair, but I never got the jokes about her looks... Lilith was gorgeous!!!!!
I never realized her level of talent until she appeared on a talk show doing a scene from Chicago. I had no idea she had such talent and physicality as a singer and dancer. But since then, it shows even in this scene.
Even if Frasier had not been on CHEERS, it was not unusual for actors of sister shows, so to speak, to guest-star in each others' show, even as their regular characters.
I was born in the late 90s so i literally only knew of fraiser for years and then found when i was about 12 that fraiser was a spin off of cheers. Then i started watching cheers, and the rest is history
Both terrific characters (and actors) as well. They joined the show later after the initial season, and were such an integral part of the show in the later years, IMO. Bebe Neuwirth is still gorgeous.
When the idea of a Frasier spinoff came up after Cheers went off the air, as much as I loved Frasier, I couldn’t imagine a show with just him. When it came on and they introduced his wacky family; I knew they made the right choice. He’s the character I most identify with and scenes like this from Cheers remind me why. They did an amazing job with these shows.
One of the best scenes in TV history. Kelsey Grammar gives me hope. He's had such a singularly tragic past, and still managed not only humor but to maintain that level of humor through two shows. I believe he is one of if not the longest running character in television.
For prime time series, I think he hit the top for one character when he passed Matt Dillon. Harry Morgan might have logged more total episodes, but that was from playing a slew of characters in many series- notably December Bride, its spinoff Pete & Gladys, Dragnet, MASH and its spinoff.
Bebe Neuwirth was a 'subtle stunner', IMO. And she was a true beauty for a long, LONG time...decades. That is rare for a media beauty. Especially so for someone whom almost no one had heard of before she was 28.
Ever notice that whenever someone in the bar leaves with something or someone in their hands, there always seems to be a person entering the bar to conveniently open the door for them, when they wouldn't normally would be able to otherwise.
Well it an acceptable break from reality as a one person carrying another trying to also open a door would look very awkward, unless it fits into the plot specifically. An alternative is that can have one of the regular cast offer to the door for them. it also benefits the story that they can have the person entering provide a reaction shot. Or they can have the person carrying the other put the other person down briefly to open the door first. So if its true that what you say (it’s not something i paid much attention to this in the past when watching Cheers reruns), then I can understand why they do it this way, especially given how few viewers would even notice this.
i can't begin to describe to you how much i miss this 'time period', and ...this show. truly, my heart longs to go back... back to 1986. right back to the fucking "Future".
i was in high school during that season of cheers. This was when i first started watching and I would be laughing so hard, my family was wondering what was up with me. Now I see so much more how brilliant the writing was for Frasier and lillith.

From 0:39 to 0:58, you can see Diane taking a keen interest in watching Sam give his $0.02 to Frasier, as if waiting for the opportune moment. And at 2:27, Sam gives Diane her cue. Big reason why this couple is so awesome--they work together so beautifully.
David was chosen to play Niles, Frasier's brother in the spin-off series - because he looked like him! Some people's grasp of simple logic is stunning! lol

That was a fast divorce... Frasier & Carla were the ones that nothing was changing for them in the final episodes. Woody won an election. Norm got a job. Cliff got a promotion. Rebecca got a husband (which Woody mentioned later didn't last.). Sam was off women for awhile... couldn't even watch an awards show. Frasier... wasn't hinting at anything. Suddenly, he's divorced... fleeing his Boston practice for a radio show 3 time zones away... The separation & divorce practically must have started a week after the series ended...
Lilith always reminds me of a girl I dated for a while, years back. She had the same strict combed back hair, and business suit style. I think she went out with me because she was looking for a bit of rough, because as soon as the door was closed, she was a hair-down hellcat.

Frasier, as the spin-off to this, was the only sitcom to rival "Friends" from the 90s through to the millennium. Rightly so. The writers of Frasier and this were true talent.
I just now realized this; Lilith dresses the same type of way as Adrian Monk with her shirt "buttoned up to [his/her] eyeballs" as Steven Weber(in character) said in an episode of MONK. LOL!
Frasier was only supposed to be in 2 or 3 episodes of Cheers and made a 20 year career out of it! Awesome!

Indeed, Frasier looks JUST LIKE Niles! I've only seen the Frasier series, so when I stumbled upon this clip, I was amazed at the resemblence. I neat suit and fuller head of hair is just enough to make Frasier Niles' twin!

I bet if Cheers existed in the real world, that clip of Frasier and Lilith losing control on that dry psychology show would have ended up on TH-cam.
Frasier, as the spin-off to this, was the only sitcom to rival "Friends" from the 90s through to the millennium. Rightly so. The writers of Frasier and this were true talent.
'Friends' never came close to the genius of 'Seinfeld' and 'Frasier'.
I just now realized this; Lilith dresses the same type of way as Adrian Monk with her shirt "buttoned up to [his/her] eyeballs" as Steven Weber(in character) said in an episode of MONK. LOL!
