    When I was younger I was such a fan of FRIENDS for a myriad of reasons and found Frasier too hoity toity, so whenever they did a documentary on FRIENDS and the issue about them always losing to Frasier at award shows baffled me so much. Now that I'm older and can finally appreciate the jokes and humor of Frasier, I can see why FRIENDS kept losing to them.. Frasier is on a league of it's own.

      Similar situation. I tried Frasier when I was in high school. Didn't get it. Then I watched it a few years later and thought it was brilliant. It's now my favorite show, and I truly believe the best show of all time.

      You can however see the time period it's from. Martin is very kind and considerate to some gays (for example when he was set up for a date with a gay who thought he was gay too, Marty drove him home at the end of the night to make up for the disappointment). But sometimes he expresses disappointment or disgust when there's a situation where his own sons are saying something or doing something that is considered gay, and that gets automatically laugh from the audience.

      @poyloos4834 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Celisar1 TL;DR I go on a rant about GAY THEORY
      as a man who is attracted to other men, I’d say that there’re three (or four if you count the definition that just meant happy) distinct meanings for the word gay. 1. Gay, the sexuality 2. Gay, the personality 3. Gay, the insult.
      Gay the sexuality is just plain and simple “I’m gay, im interested in other men”
      Gay the personality means someone acts in one of the ways gays are stereotypically thought of, (or in the case of Frasier, accurately get how a good number of gay people act to an extent) primarily the “yass queen 💅💅✨✨” stereotype. Believe it or not, I know a couple gay men who actually fit into this stereotype, they are insufferable and bring a bad name to gays.
      And gay the insult is just basically a meaningless swear that has nothing to do with actual gayness (ex: “hey bro, did ya get the ketchup for the fries?” “Nah, bro, forgot it” “bro that’s gay af”)
      …anyway, that’s just my two cents.

      John Mahoney is actually not gay as most people think. He said in an interview in 2002 that he had several relationships( with women) that he screwed up because he didn't want to end up like his parents who were probably divoced.

      J.F.S Radio Uh huh. Like most gay guys say they're 'confirmed bachelors' or 'haven't found the right woman yet.' Mahoney also said he doesn't have romantic relationships because he had a colostomy. I mean, come on! He's also appeared in a few gay movies like The Broken Hearts Club. I can respect that he wants to keep his private life private. But in Hollywood, you'd get a big laugh from the entertainment community if you said Mahoney was straight. But who really cares? He's a fine actor, and his business is his business.
