One piece is a happy anime , atleast on the surface but this is legit one of the depressing stories too , almost all of the characters including villains have detailed and sad stories, this really is one of the best shows i ve ever watched and i don't regret watching this 1037 episodes (ongoing) long series one bit
Heres a little info( i can answer more on discord) it is Water based as u assumed, there are thousands if not milions of islands in the OP world, the main character/captain of the straw hats is Luffy(The person With the straw hat as u guessed) Fun fact, When u first heard the different version of “We are” thats actually song by the main crew, The person in the very first intros that u heard with a deep voice thats the Pirate King talking about his treasure and everything
@@diego_fnogueira Oh it is. But once you've got to a bad or sad part, it's very bad too. One Piece can make you laugh like there's no tomorrow, but they can also tear your heart apart and drain your tears.
I know the opening songs sound bright and happy, but i promise you, One Piece has some of the most heartbreaking scenes ever told in all forms of media. Sometimes it'll have you crying multiple times in one episode or on back to back episodes. Oda's storytelling is God tier stuff.
@@DarkHighlander1993 Me too. I love these songs so much and I have so much nostalgia for this show. I've been watching One Piece since I was in my 20's and I'm 43.
Going Merry, I want to Live, Nothing Happened, Bink's Sake, Arlong Park. So much in this animé is designed to give you chills or break down. It's impeccable, if it just didn't have the filler.
you better remember We Are! it is the fanbase's anthem! such an iconic opening and everyone got emotional when it came back😭 especially the version sung by the crew itself!
One piece is one of the most emotional anime I've ever watched especially among shonen anime . Oda sensei's writing, world building and storytelling is absolutely amazing.
The cool thing about the One Piece openings is that almost any time you see them in a new outfit or in some kinda wacky situation, it's likely an animated version of the chapter opening cover that the author, Oda, drew at a fan's request. Imagine you send a letter to a famous author asking them to draw your favorite characters doing some random funny stuff, only to see it the manga, and later, on TV. Sometimes, they're even slightly incorporated into the story itself!
@@GOTGames yes, there was this one time where a boy and a girl described some characters to Oda through fanmail (There is a lot of patterns that certain characters share namewise and designwise, depending on the arc) and not only where this characters included in one of the non-canon movies, but they also made appearances in the main story with diakog and everything. It wasnt like a contest or anything, Oda just decided to include them, of course, after praising the idea through the Q&A corner.
@@alextygesen3101 Vice admiral Tokikake AKA Chaton, and Vice Admiral Gion AKA Momousagi. They appeared in Film Gold and in the manga they appeared when a Certain vice admiral was asked about the status of some rocks. *wink wink nudge nudge*
This is the “Homer’s Odyssey” of anime. If you enjoy incredible adventure, world building and character development, it really doesn’t get much better than One Piece. I have such a strong emotional attachment to this anime and the characters. This anime will make you feel every emotion over and over as you go along for the ride.
It’s an anime that you can’t take lightly. For everyone that says it takes so long to get good, those same people don’t have the patience for a massive world building experience. The first couple hundred episodes is all just ground work for the world that Oda built. It’s about the same percentage of episode world building episodes as the short anime’s. So if you have a 12 episode anime you need 1 for world building. If you have a 1000 episode anime you need hundreds…
Interesting detail to notice is that all the openings have at least one moment where their ship is sailing towards sunshine, to the "Dawn". This is not coincidence, it has a really deep meaning in the One Piece Anime. Love ur reacts, cant wait for the next part.
It's very long, but for those who've committed it's basically one of the most emotional anime that you can find. I don't often cry from anime but this one has managed to get to do so at least once per arc. It's insane how good Oda is at getting you to like characters and feel as sad as they do.
Completely agreed. I've watched and read One Piece from the beginning multiple times and I still remember when I saw episodes for the first time. I honestly wish I could go back in time to re-watch this series for the first time again. One Piece has been and always will be my #1 favorite anime/manga.
There was a certain scene that Oda had to redraw several times to get the emotional impact that he wanted. The draft that he delivered in the end was stained with tears. His own. I'm sure anyone familar with the show would be able to guess which scene _that_ was.
The co-showrunner of the coming One Piece live action series (which is made by some real fans with a large budget and a promising cast but has to take huge hurdles because the original is simply really, really difficult to adapt) described the series like this: "If you try to boil One Piece down into three elements, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you go holy shit".
While watching it all in a row like this, it seems weird to have the same opening again, but when you think about how people felt while watching it weekly on release it's a completely different feeling. The first opening is so nostalgic and while watching weekly people wouldn't have heard it for years sometimes.
As a long-time fan of One Piece, it always makes me smile seeing people vibing to the openings! Without any spoilers, I can tell you that the openings are usually to match the mood of the main characters, and the captain is usually a bundle of sunshine, no matter what he's facing.
This show is just amazing dude. When you have the chance to, I'd say definitely go for it. The show has its happy moments, has its deep moments and also the sad moments. Everything has a reason in the show and everything gets explained. The length becomes so short once you have watched through the whole thing
As a manga reader I find it hard to recommend the anime. I sometimes do go back and watch some highlights where I know the studio is gonna pour all of their resources towards but this show is literally hundreds of hours to slog through and I don't know if it's worth it for somebody who isn't already a huge anime fan. I would love for Toei to go back someday and remake the show. It's a ton of work and it would keep people employed for another decade or so... but at the end of it all you'd probably have one of the greatest anime's of all time. The manga is already the greatest ever in my opinion. Oda has truly maximized the potential you can only really get out of a series that goes on for as long as One Piece has. The amount of emotions he can bring out of his readers only because they've stuck with him for so long and are so intimate with the characters and world he's so masterfully crafted.
i'm 800 episodes deep and i caught myself thinking that i "only" had 200 episodes left. ONLY. a few months ago, 200 episodes would've been an almost insurmountable obstacle. one piece is amazing, man.
Yes! That "K-pop" like voice is TVXQ, K-pop group singing in Japanese! They used to be 5 members and now 2 members. (Long story short) they sing their version of We are and the next opening! One Piece is my favorite anime! Almost one and only anime I watch now. It's going on for decades and now heading to end! I hope you enjoy it! And, it could be very emotional 😢 Love from an army💜
ITS THERE I REPEAT ITS THERE! One Piece is extremely long I think most of us are kinda happy about it, it comes to that point where you want to stay with those characters forever and keep going on adventures. It's a journey, one that everyone can take at their own pace. I started One Piece about 10 years or so ago now and I've always been 200 episodes behind because I enjoy consuming it my own way. I'm not pressuring myself to catch up because I like knowing that no matter what if I dont have anything to change my mind of things One Piece is there, idk its comforting. I'd definitely say it's worth watching or reading because it's wonderful story that has something to offer to everyone, genuinely. :) Edit: also if you have any historical knowledge on piracy it's a fun show to watch because a lot of familiar name can be found there of pirates from the golden age of piracy of our world some in the show not even being pirates but their names being used for 'government' figures I should say, which is always fun! ^^
Oh thank you so much for the recommendation and I understand completely what you mean about enjoying it at your own pace. I agree! Should be whatever fits with you and how you enjoy it. Think I will definitely watch this anime 💯
One Piece is literally the One biggest thing in my life. I read and watch it since i was 10 years old and it encounters me every single day. I love other Franchises too, like Star Wars or lotr but nothing can compare to these thousands of hours in my life i spend with One Piece. This world is absolutely fantastic
Another detail about this show: Its author, Oda, never forgets. He's gone so far as to have characters in the background in the early hundreds of eps, end up becoming important around the six hundreds or so. It's pretty much become a meme with how much he just never forgets, with so many seemingly small scale details ending up becoming important later on. He's a master at tying things together.
@@az639 Yeah, precisely. XD You can just baaaaarely see his signature hairstyle in the background among those watching what happens there. Oda is that dang skilled at tying in things. His world building skills are insane, in a great way.:D
The reason the openings are longer than usual is so that the episodes can be shorter, which gives them time to make more and keep in pace with the manga (which is still ongoing). Also, the fever dream-esque scenes during the first half of the themes are usually the animated art pieces the manga author puts at the beginning of the chapters.
opening 7, the second version of "We Are!" is actually sung by the voice actors of the crew! It's one of my all time favourites as every time the straw hats' voice actors come and sing together, they all sound like theyre enjoying themselves together
Man, it's been so many years since I watched One piece openings, and some of them still give me chills when I remember and see the scenes... Truly an amazing anime.
Hey ! Really glad you start checking One Piece ! It is one hell of a journey, but what an amazing one ! Hope one day, you'll start watching it ! In the meantime, here's some answer to your questions *_WITHOUT spoilers_* : - 5:55 Yes, it is generally a show with a happy and good vibe; but there's dark moment, and very sentimental ones; so don't worry : One Piece knows when to be serious and how. Also, some subject treated can be pretty dark (slavery and discrimination for instance) - 6:50 The world is principally composed of oceans and small islands, and 1 continent : Red Line (for further images, watch *_The Breathtaking World of One Piece_* ) - 8:13 You're totally right, One Piece openings are 2 minutes 30s long, when "normal" openings are 1mn30s long : that's because One Piece doesn't have endings (after a certain moment) - 8:23 One Piece (manga) started in July 1997, and the anime in 1999 - 8:25 Yup it can, watch the show to know why :) - 8:28 I don't think it's considered a spoiler, but I won't get into details : there isn't magic in the world, but there are things called "Devil Fruits" - 10:30 Yup he is, and his name is ... not John Cena, but Monkey D. Luffy, he's 17 at the beginning of the show, and other crewmates aren't a lot older (some exceptions) - 15:34 It is indeed the first opening sung by the voice actors of the crew - 21:33 A new crew member, as you can see, called Franky - 23:20 It is an other time "We Are!", and the TVXQ version that you already react to, to celebrate the 10th anniversary - 26:11 Yes, the anime and the manga are still going on now, but only for about another 5 years ... - 27:30 It is another opening sung by TVXQ - 27:47 You should already know, but these are called "womens" - 30:00 No idea what's happening, have to ask animators - 33:56 You are actually pretty close for the overall summary (of course you didn't get political things and some other aspects, but that's okay) *PS : One Piece openings are a good example of "everything you see in the opening doesn't really happen in the show"* Hope you will see this long answer to your questions (big and small ones, even meaningless ...) If I missed anything, just say it and I'll try to correct it as soon as possible.
This show has made me feel more and cry harder then any show so many people look at the episode count and balk but ...I. when you spend so much time with the characters it builds a bond like nothing else you just care so so much
Ik I'm a year late, but i still start crying even at the mention of Ace, it's just so heartbreaking, I love how Oda made a character we haven't known for too long in Alabasta, such an important person in our hearts ❤
One Piece is an incredible experience. i'm currently 800 episodes deep in my One Piece journey of (currently) 1037 episodes, and i caught myself thinking that i "only" had 200 episodes left. ONLY. a few months ago, 200 episodes would've been an almost insurmountable obstacle. one piece is amazing, man. it barely felt like 100 lmao
Need the next set of openings ASAP. Your deduction was pretty good for someone who has just seen the openings. That ability to be able to make those types of connections is very crucial when experiencing the story as well.
the way one piece openings have such strong control over me. like, as the openings approach a certain part in one piece i begin to get anxious. then i see the foreshadowing of the approaching and i feel sad whenever i see it. then the opening of the beginning of the arc begins and i'm just devastated. ONE PIECE HAS ME, MAN!
TRUST ME the length looks long but after you start to like the show it really doesn't matter. I'm on the latest episode of 1000+ and I wish there was more or I watched the show slowly without trying to catch up to the latest episode as fast as possible.
The weird thing about OP openings is that they are surprisingly deceptive and yet entirely on point 🤭 They show very little about what actually goes on during the show, which may be more dramatic or heart-wrenching sometimes, but ultimately, they are 100% on point in the kind of mood OP puts you in - a happy, adventurous and positive one, where even if you feel down and life throws some hardships your way, you feel reassured that there's gonna be better days again
Ah yes. One Piece openings. I grew up with this, it's such a good show. If you do watch it...... I wish you luck. It's so good. You expained One Piece fairly accurate. The story goes by arcs, and each arc gets better and better. Memorable characters and when it hits... it'll make you cry. I've cried to this show from when I was a kid to now.... a grown man.
I dont think of myself as a person who is easy to cry but this show makes me tear up all the time thinking about it. The writing of this show is fantastic.
Yeah and also it's funny as hell at times. Like it isn't always gut wrenching sad or super awesome drama. At times The funniest moments are like... Luffy's going to read a book... And every member of the crew is like... There's no way .. there's no way he's actually going to sit down and read a book Robin, the Archeologist is reading.
“The writing of the show is fantastic” Dressrosa 10 year hill climb flashbacks 💀 Edit: mb Toei ass I watch the anime and rarely read the manga good thing Oda doesn’t make us stare at Luffy screaming while throwing the same 4 punches for 3 chapters straight
The 2nd time you hear "We Are" its all of the cast of the main characters singing the song. Also each Opening roughly came out the next year, as the One Piece anime has been airing weekly for about 23 years
Him: talking about how happy and upbeat One Piece is All the flashbacks, Marineford, Sabaody, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Whole Cake Island, Wano: "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
Finally finally One piece is the best world building anime. And don't be fooled by the positive vibes song. the world is often use all tragedy in our world in this anime. I cried so many times watch this show from the sad moment and hype moment Opening 7 is we are sang by voice actor. Opening 10 is we are from kpop u already react
i started watching one piece in late july 2022 and now im 580 episode. I picked this anime up because it was long and i was tired of my favourite anime ending so fast. but now i think one piece is not long enough. i consume the episodes soooo quickly and it is now my favourite anime of all time. the story is just so good the characters are likeable, it makes me laugh, it also makes me cry a lot. its a perfect mix of everything and the world building is just top tier. also i love seeing the change in animation it just gets better with every arc. I definitely recommend it!
In case you make a poll of what anime to watch next and end up watching one piece, just know this anime is a beast. You might want to watch multiple episodes at once if you intend to do weekly videos. This show's world building can hook you in and immerse you
Better yet, maybe do an arc, then do some other anime(s), then come back to One Piece. Doing it all at once would be a bit too much and most people would get tired of only One Piece.
@@GOTGames lol we started to REwatch one piece in january, at least one episode per day for dinner or beakfast but most of the time we end up binging a few more, skipping intro and outro bc the summary every episode is like 4 to 7 minutes alos so the very episode is only 18 minutes and not 25. We reached episode 500 this week xD but even knowing everything that happened it is still so amazing its worth the rewatch, even more knowing what happened recently, it gives a new point of view on everything that happened before... Just do it man :D but I recommend watching an arc and making a video about that, not every episode xD
@@GOTGames ya it will I'm not cought up and it took me 2 years and I have taken a 2 year brake not because it is bad but because I wached in dub not sub. And I want more dubbed so I'm waiting for more dub to come out. But I am reading the manga it is so good.
I sometimes have my gripes with Oda’s writing in One Piece due to the pacing and how there are some loose ends, but it’s still the master class in almost every other element. I haven’t found another story that so effortlessly weaves in genuinely funny comedy in what should be on paper completely serious. The emotional climaxes would be euphoric if there weren’t tears in my eyes every time I watch them. The answers to mysteries feel like you should’ve known they were coming if only you were just a bit smarter. Characters are so expressive and alive that remembering names comes as easy as remembering the quirky/goofy looks they almost always have. The power system is intuitive enough that you immediately understand when someone’s about to get their face kicked in. The design for locations feels like you’re digging into an artisan level wedding cake with how much nuance and focus there is on detail. The theming is so remarkably consistent that you never have a moment that doesn’t feel thought out or pre-planned. I could go on and on for days about how each and every facet of the writing is somehow gorgeously maintained, even after 25 years of serialization, but it’s better to see it yourself. If only manga was more popular in intellectual spheres, this series would be how they teach kids to write. Hope you react to it, because it's changed my and many others lives.
Cannot Understate how much "WE Are!" is loved by the community, so every like 5 years, they remix it for the intro. The second version, was sung by the VA's of the crew.
Oh my god, you're actually doing it! One Piece is my favorite anime of all time and I'm so excited that you're reacting to these openings. One Piece started in 1999 and has been continuously airing to this day. The manga is also still ongoing, though the creator has said that it's in its final saga and it looks like it'll have it's grand finale within the next 3-5 years or so. And yes, the anime is very lighthearted and comedic in tone, but there is a lot of dark themes under the surface as well. Positivity in the face of darkness is a major theme of One Piece. The openings did start as normal, only being 1:30. But starting with opening 6, the openings became 2:30 and they stopped airing endings overall. The early opening visuals are more about the characters and tone of the show, with very little story content, but later openings (especially the ones you haven't reacted to you yet) have a lot more story-related content for you to react to.
@@werefrogofassyria6609 well, he did say around Chapter 600 that he reached the half point... But he always overestimates his ability to predict when to end arcs...
10:45 God that intro just stirs up so many emotions from watching the series for so long. He's seriously gotta watch the series, and hopefully react to it because he will be absolutely astounded at how awesome it is. 31:11 Yes, and it's also AMAZING.
28:40 you are absolutely right! At the beginning they were only 1:30 (plus the narration), but at some point, which I forgot the number, they stopped doing endings themes so they made the openings longer in return, they became 2:30 as you said!
As a fan who's caught up by chapters, rewatching the openings and seeing the reactor enjoy them, makes me tear up a bit. A lot of people mistake it for a happy show that nothing bad happens, but ask any one piece fan and they'll tell you otherwise, not only is it an adventure anime, it also include several other elements such as; comedy, action, history, conspiracy, mystery and more. There's a lot to it than people think, and people aren't normally enticed because of the immense amount, but trust me it's more than worth it.
openings are really happy, but the show itself has a good ballance of serious, dark, and funny moments, guy with the straw hat is the captain, and he basically goes around recruiting interesting people.
One Piece is one of the shows i cried the most in, and the happy upbeat songs are in my opinion to give hope and keep a positive outlook no matter what you encounter or how much life kicks you, you get up and run towards your goals and never give up and enjoy the journey ❤, I love One Piece so much 😍
I have to say, among all of the openings where you have tried to piece together what the show is about. This is probaly the most precise or closest you have ever been, EVER! Proud of you and i really hope you give the anime/manga a go someday streaming/filming it or by yourself and just enjoy it.
The 3rd "We are" and "Share the world" are both sung by tvxq !! They even performed those songs during their concerts in japan~ Tvxq were the kings of kpop in Japan and still are, that's why they're the only foreigners to ever sing an one piece opening
@@Imsleepybro yes! Tvxq were the very first Korean boy band (boa was the first artist in general) to ever promote in Japan and release a whole discography in Japanese . Today, all of the members speak japanese fluently, too. They broke one (world-)record after another when TH-cam was still a baby-website and most sns didn't even exist yet. Yet of course they never stopped to promote in their home country Korea as well.
If you want a spoiler-free yet great feel for what One Piece is about/capable of, I recommend the 6th movie: Baron Omatsuri. It's also directed by the guy that directed other animated films like The Girl Who Lept Through Time and the animation is gorgeous. So it's a great watch regardless of whether you're a One Piece fan or not :)
Some good nostalgia watching through all these One Piece intros. Just a great reminder of how long the journey has been with this series and how much has gone on. And it's had some really good songs for these openings.
It started in 1999 and still is ongoing. It was created by Oda who had been working on one piece since he was a kid and finally released it in 1999. Oda said he was trying to finish it within the next 5 years if possible. He has foreshadowed events and characters hundreds of episodes apart. They are up to the 1000s last I checked
The thing about One Piece is that it can be every bit as happy and upbeat as the theme songs lead you to believe. It is full of ridiculous, nonsensical fun and lots of laughter. It also is complex, dark, and deals with suffering, loss, and trauma. It also does use the song "We Are" multiple times, but keep in mind that due to the number of episodes the show has those are actually decently spread out and it is often a nice treat for fans when it comes back.
Btw about your comment on the show being very bubbly and lively: Yes, it is. BUT I can also say for a fact, that I have never cried as much as I have with One Piece than every other anime. It hits you right in the feels. When it's funny, you laugh. When it's sad, you cry and when it is exciting as hell, you just want to binge watch all of the episodes of an arc because it just sucks u in so badly! 10/10 my fav anime of all time with a very special place in my heart❤
I've been watching/reading this anime for 18 years now. It's great! I would recommend following a list that shows where the fillers are so you can skip them. Just makes the overall experience better I think. Keep in mind that the anime started in 1999 so it's quite old (and still on-going). Hope you end up reacting to it :D
Another thing to mention is that Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, is a genius. He will hide the smallest details and hints, in character art, numbers, dialogues, etc. You can watch/read the series multiple times and still miss some of the mindblowing foreshadowing and detail, that the author carefully placed there! And as a One Piece fan, it is always a treat to see new viewers slowly unravel and discover the mysteries of its story.
Man...out of all the incredible moments and heart wrenching and unexpected situations and scenes, the hardest one will be the day when we have all, collectively, watched the final episode. I both look forward to, and dread, that day arriving.
Randomly found this channel a few days ago, more than listening to great old anime openings again your upbeat friendly personality and obvious enjoyment of everything made me a fan. Also you can find English versions of overlords first opening Clattanoia that really lets you know what the first season is about
From OP like... 6 onwards, they _are_ indeed extra long! The series stopped doing EDs, and just went all in on the OP length. The series is indeed still going. We're past chapter 1060 by now, as well as episode 1000. The manga should apparently be coming to an end in the next few years. Apparently. My favorites of the openings would all be in the other half video, as they are 13 14 and 24!
FINNALY THE LEGEND IS HERE! Please reacted to the next openings too. The songs, animation, and story are getting better and better 💜 Btw the 2nd ver of We Are is sung by the main characters aka Straw Hat crew so of course it gave the happiest vibe. TVXQ sung the 3rd ver of We Are and the next song Share The World thats why it seems familiar. Fyi if you are confused with the complicated characters actually One Piece mixed the culture around the world so you would find a lot of similarities with them. Thats what makes One Piece more enjoyable to watch and of course the characters are super funny 😂 Also I recommend Durarara and Kuroko no Basket openings!! They're also so gooodd
The 2nd version of We Are is sung by the voice actors of One Piece! Each of the characters are detailed within each arc (series of episodes). They definitely have their own personality. Once you start, you won’t want to stop. It’s that good. but be aware that there are over 1000 episodes dating back from 1999!! Let’s just say “it’s an entertaining journey “!
The third "We Are" (10th ost) was for One Piece anime's 10th anniversary Also it's sung by the legendary Kpop band TVXQ (Tohoshinki in japan) The 11th ost "Share the World" is also sung by them.
I'm starting episode 826 for the first time but have to say that hearing the instrumental of We Are (On a Cruise) played at half tempo is a completely different sensation. Also at 15:30 it is the Japanese voice cast for the Straw Hat Pirates singing it which is one of my favorite things if an anime does. Another anime that has the main cast sing the openings is Assassination Classroom.
Haven’t seen anyone comment this yet but,the back ground vocals for op 12 was also the main cast of the Straw Hat. Little known fact you might not know of.
I just started watching One piece a week ago and I just finished episode 43. I gotta say that it's amazing and I know it will just keep getting better and better and first opening is just so good and iconic.
People explained the second version of We Are. But the THIRD VERSION is sang by Tohonshiki or DBSK one of the greatest vocals in korean-japanese pop! They held world record awards and stuff. This band is a fan of OP, so, they singing it, is just perfect!
This show is absolutely happy and bouncy that is feel good but it does have it fair share of drama, angst and badass scenes! But yes, its definitely one show you can consider as comfort show and so many things to explore even being a long time fan who's catching up every day xD
Since you did the first 12 when can we expect the remaining 11? Thanks for doing this and if you get a chance I'd love to get your reaction to the first Guilty Crown opening "My Dearest" as I believe it to be one of the best opening themes in any of the shows I've seen.
One Piece is literally my favorite anime of all time. My husband introduced me to anime when we first started dating and this show just had me hooked out of all the animes he had me watch😂 there's so much history between a lot of characters and it just makes it so good! This anime will make you laugh, cry and shocked like a rollercoaster! Brook is my favorite introduction to Luffy's crew.
just want to say, i love how engaging and perceptive your reactions are! you always seem so genuinely interested in what you're watching, and its great to see :) especially as someone who loves this anime!!
Hey man! You reacted to One Piece just like I've always HOPED for someone to react to it! You're very personality matches that of the essense of One Piece!! And all of your summary and guesses of the anime is pretty right on just with a lot missing but nothing was wrong per say.....it's 110% worth the watch! I've watched quite a bit of animes and One Piece is by FAR the G.O.A.T...don't watch anything else until you watch One Piece! Man, you'll freaking LOVE it! The creator has the best story telling and crafting ability....it's so intricate and complex and riviting allllll the way through...so masterfully done!! It's amazing that it's been great ALL this time and has continued to get better over the span of 1090 episodes(25 years)!!!! It just finished the biggest arc and climax of the entire anime so far and it was CRAZY GOOD AND INTENSE!!!
Gonna add my 2 cents! I avoided One Piece for YEARS, and I mean like ten years of people telling me to watch it. Finally, I gave it a chance....and now I'm on episode 765 and it has FLOWN by and pulled me in. Amazing writing. Amazing characters. Amazing worldbuilding. Amazing show.
One Piece Originally started as a manga in the gap that came from the ending of Dragonball Z. IT Started in 1997 and is just starting the final Saga currently in the manga. It seems upbeat and fun but it has its Dark moments as well. Law, Nami, Chopper, Brook and Robin's backstory's are particularly heartbreaking. It is the only Series that I know that has you shedding tears for a Ship.
yes finally!!!!! Dude One Piece is my all time favorite series you would love it!! It's been going on for more than 25 years now. The anime first aired in October 1999. The author Eiichiro Oda is still writing it even now and it has only gotten better over the years. The show may seem happy and upbeat but grows darker and darker the deeper you get into the story. Also the second half of the openings is better imo in terms of both music and animation so I'm hyped for the next video already! Also idk if you should keep using that same video to see the rest of the openings cuz I think that one has an incorrect opening at the end of the video (I saw someone react with that video and OP 24 was the wrong one I think). I can tell it's the same one cuz of the phone notifications that popped up in the video. and Yes the main character is the guy with the straw hat and he is the captain of the ship. He is 17 and is one of the younger crew members compared to the others.
One Piece is definitely something to watch. It is very long and is still on going October 20th was the 23rd year anniversary of the anime and July was the 25th year anniversary of the manga with about 5-7 years left of the story, it is long but that's one of the things that makes it great. One Piece is a massive journey where you follow these characters as they chase their dreams, you connect and fall in love with the world and characters and you always want more and for it to never end. One Piece is a masterclass in world building taking it to an unprecedented level in the anime industry in addition few anime can make you so connected to the characters that you feel whatever it is they're feeling you won't believe the things that you'll cry over until you watch One Piece. I'll tell anyone that they should watch One Piece if they want an amazing story; complex and mysterious world that always leaves you needing to know more; amazing characters; cool, crazy, and insane powers; epic fights; top tier openings; top tier character ost's; and so much more. There's very much a reason One Piece is not only the most popular anime and manga, but also one of the most popular stories in the world. As long as you can ignore the length at first you'll fall in love.
Welcome to the One Piece rabbit hole!! If you decide to delve deeper to this and you end up reacting to the episodes, I promise you, you will not be disappointed. It has everything, amazing characters, an expansive world and amazing story. We will be with you with your journey with the Strawhats!
They go back to a new version"-ish" of 'We Are' after every marker point like a 10yr 15yr + anniversary moments. side note: The Johnny Bravo looking guy you spoke of is Franky, from Water 7 Arc. the first 5 are gathered before heading to the Grand Line(Arc), then you start picking up a new member of the crew every other Arc or so. (The Captain is set on having a crew of only 10) It is still on going with 1,000+ episodes, along with specials and movies. We're currently reaching the end of the Wano Arc & the Manga is also still ongoing but is said to be reaching its end in the next couple years or so. The series is a mix of adventure, action, comedy, drama & sorrow. Basically if you get really attached to anyone have some tissues nearby cause tears may be in the wings even for a ship. Cause this show can get people crying or close to crying. At some points, mostly between Arcs, the story may feel like it doesn't add up to the story. Thats cause they don't, as they are mostly fillers when they get to close to the manga. OP, is pirates marines devil fruits (give people their powers at a cost), its pretty much all over the place but its fun.
"That's a brilliant quick summary of what the show's about: here's 20 second thing that's gonna tell what it's about" *20 seconds later* "here's a 4 and a half minute recap of the previous episode"

You have to react to the 1st german opening of one piece. I really like this version.
One piece is a happy anime , atleast on the surface but this is legit one of the depressing stories too , almost all of the characters including villains have detailed and sad stories, this really is one of the best shows i ve ever watched and i don't regret watching this 1037 episodes (ongoing) long series one bit
Please do the rest of the openings or i might die
One piece doesn't have endings so they make openings extra long and awesome
Heres a little info( i can answer more on discord) it is Water based as u assumed, there are thousands if not milions of islands in the OP world, the main character/captain of the straw hats is Luffy(The person With the straw hat as u guessed)
Fun fact, When u first heard the different version of “We are” thats actually song by the main crew, The person in the very first intros that u heard with a deep voice thats the Pirate King talking about his treasure and everything
The second version of "We Are" is sung by all the main characters, rather than the original singer. Was an awesome treat :)

Heck yeah 🤘

The cool thing about the One Piece openings is that almost any time you see them in a new outfit or in some kinda wacky situation, it's likely an animated version of the chapter opening cover that the author, Oda, drew at a fan's request. Imagine you send a letter to a famous author asking them to draw your favorite characters doing some random funny stuff, only to see it the manga, and later, on TV. Sometimes, they're even slightly incorporated into the story itself!
What?!? That's awesome!!

This is the “Homer’s Odyssey” of anime. If you enjoy incredible adventure, world building and character development, it really doesn’t get much better than One Piece. I have such a strong emotional attachment to this anime and the characters. This anime will make you feel every emotion over and over as you go along for the ride.
😮🔥
Couldn't say it better. Good job mate
If you have a 1000 episode anime you need hundreds…
ive been saying this for years, its also the same reason why i hate it when people say "i want to watch one piece, but its too long".
Interesting detail to notice is that all the openings have at least one moment where their ship is sailing towards sunshine, to the "Dawn". This is not coincidence, it has a really deep meaning in the One Piece Anime.
Love ur reacts, cant wait for the next part.
Also means for us op watchers it's almost over 🥺😢
It's very long, but for those who've committed it's basically one of the most emotional anime that you can find.
Not long IMO. Finished 130 episodes in 1 week
There was a certain scene that Oda had to redraw several times to get the emotional impact that he wanted.
The draft that he delivered in the end was stained with tears. His own.
I'm sure anyone familar with the show would be able to guess which scene _that_ was.
@@Brosky305 bro i guess you must've finished 1000 ep. And now you might be wondering why you watched all the episodes so fast
@@Brosky305 not long!!??? its got over a thousand episodes!! not long compared to WHAT? theres not that many shows that go over a thousand.
The co-showrunner of the coming One Piece live action series (which is made by some real fans with a large budget and a promising cast but has to take huge hurdles because the original is simply really, really difficult to adapt) described the series like this: "If you try to boil One Piece down into three elements, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you go holy shit".
...... Valid
While watching it all in a row like this, it seems weird to have the same opening again, but when you think about how people felt while watching it weekly on release it's a completely different feeling. The first opening is so nostalgic and while watching weekly people wouldn't have heard it for years sometimes.
It especially works with the episode 1000 version...
As a huge fan of One Piece. I hate Toei. I'd rather they do One Piece as a seasonal anime then to stretch a 14 page chapter into 15-18 minutes
I feel like it's too stretched-out sometimes, some episodes and arks feel like such a stall.
Too bad it’s horrible right now just a bunch of terrible writing choices.
i'm 800 episodes deep and i caught myself thinking that i "only" had 200 episodes left. ONLY. a few months ago, 200 episodes would've been an almost insurmountable obstacle. one piece is amazing, man.
Yes! That "K-pop" like voice is TVXQ, K-pop group singing in Japanese! They used to be 5 members and now 2 members. (Long story short) they sing their version of We are and the next opening!

Love from an army💜
I did not know they also did We Are, that's interesting.
Fuck Kpop....This is Jpop,Jrock
Edit: also if you have any historical knowledge on piracy it's a fun show to watch because a lot of familiar name can be found there of pirates from the golden age of piracy of our world some in the show not even being pirates but their names being used for 'government' figures I should say, which is always fun! ^^

They also sung a Christmas song together.
This was also around the time that Going Merry died. The song is like a fond farewell to their first ship.

Truly an amazing anime.
Hey ! Really glad you start checking One Piece ! It is one hell of a journey, but what an amazing one ! Hope one day, you'll start watching it ! In the meantime, here's some answer to your questions *_WITHOUT spoilers_* :
- 5:55 Yes, it is generally a show with a happy and good vibe; but there's dark moment, and very sentimental ones; so don't worry : One Piece knows when to be serious and how. Also, some subject treated can be pretty dark (slavery and discrimination for instance)
- 6:50 The world is principally composed of oceans and small islands, and 1 continent : Red Line (for further images, watch *_The Breathtaking World of One Piece_* )
- 8:13 You're totally right, One Piece openings are 2 minutes 30s long, when "normal" openings are 1mn30s long : that's because One Piece doesn't have endings (after a certain moment)
- 8:23 One Piece (manga) started in July 1997, and the anime in 1999
- 8:25 Yup it can, watch the show to know why :)
- 8:28 I don't think it's considered a spoiler, but I won't get into details : there isn't magic in the world, but there are things called "Devil Fruits"
- 10:30 Yup he is, and his name is ... not John Cena, but Monkey D. Luffy, he's 17 at the beginning of the show, and other crewmates aren't a lot older (some exceptions)
- 15:34 It is indeed the first opening sung by the voice actors of the crew
- 21:33 A new crew member, as you can see, called Franky
- 23:20 It is an other time "We Are!", and the TVXQ version that you already react to, to celebrate the 10th anniversary
- 26:11 Yes, the anime and the manga are still going on now, but only for about another 5 years ...
- 27:30 It is another opening sung by TVXQ
- 27:47 You should already know, but these are called "womens"
- 30:00 No idea what's happening, have to ask animators
- 33:56 You are actually pretty close for the overall summary (of course you didn't get political things and some other aspects, but that's okay)
*PS : One Piece openings are a good example of "everything you see in the opening doesn't really happen in the show"*
Hope you will see this long answer to your questions (big and small ones, even meaningless ...)

the way one piece openings have such strong control over me. like, as the openings approach a certain part in one piece i begin to get anxious. then i see the foreshadowing of the approaching and i feel sad whenever i see it. then the opening of the beginning of the arc begins and i'm just devastated.

In the manga every chapter always has an opening page with some crazy illustration or a mini story and the openings take the spirit from that.

One Piece is one of the shows i cried the most in, and the happy upbeat songs are in my opinion to give hope and keep a positive outlook no matter what you encounter or how much life kicks you, you get up and run towards your goals and never give up and enjoy the journey ❤, I love One Piece so much 😍
Yeah they add the happiest opening over the darkest arcs. It's to remind you that it'll get happy again so don't burn out on the dark bits
I have to say, among all of the openings where you have tried to piece together what the show is about. This is probaly the most precise or closest you have ever been, EVER! Proud of you and i really hope you give the anime/manga a go someday streaming/filming it or by yourself and just enjoy it.
Yeah the Openings are very upbeat, yet literally the only anime that ever made me bawl out crying, One Piece takes you places, Highs and lows
The 3rd "We are" and "Share the world" are both sung by tvxq !! They even performed those songs during their concerts in japan~
Tvxq were the kings of kpop in Japan and still are, that's why they're the only foreigners to ever sing an one piece opening
Oh.. so they sing in Japanese and Korean?
@@Imsleepybro yes! Tvxq were the very first Korean boy band (boa was the first artist in general) to ever promote in Japan and release a whole discography in Japanese . Today, all of the members speak japanese fluently, too. They broke one (world-)record after another when TH-cam was still a baby-website and most sns didn't even exist yet.
Yet of course they never stopped to promote in their home country Korea as well.
TVXQ is a japanese name of this band. Their original name is DBSK and sadly they disbanded into two groups, one still named DBSK and other JYJ.
@@jakubtryc1706 but yunho and changmin promote under tvxq even in Korea now ...
I think
If you want a spoiler-free yet great feel for what One Piece is about/capable of, I recommend the 6th movie: Baron Omatsuri. It's also directed by the guy that directed other animated films like The Girl Who Lept Through Time and the animation is gorgeous. So it's a great watch regardless of whether you're a One Piece fan or not :)
I know it takes forever but OP openings are best when watched together all at once.
Just because you don't see them all at once doesn't mean I didn't watch them all at once 😉
@@GOTGames nice
GODA haha... I really admire mangakas like Eiichiro Oda sensei and Hiromu Arakawa. Both are GOAT 😎🔝
Man...out of all the incredible moments and heart wrenching and unexpected situations and scenes, the hardest one will be the day when we have all, collectively, watched the final episode. I both look forward to, and dread, that day arriving.
Around 16:00 it's the 1st opening sung by the voice actors of the Straw-Hat crew.
And for some reason I haven't seen it before. Was it in specials or smth?
@@chuchu5923 nah man it was in the show for a few episodes. Might have been a filler arc. I honestly don't remember.
@@sindri1447 definitely filler or special episodes
@@chuchu5923 it was recap filler
Randomly found this channel a few days ago, more than listening to great old anime openings again your upbeat friendly personality and obvious enjoyment of everything made me a fan. Also you can find English versions of overlords first opening Clattanoia that really lets you know what the first season is about
One Piece...a show that makes you laugh and cry and then laugh again...amazing world, amazing characters, amazing storytelling...
Fun fact: The second version of "We Are" is actually sung by the cast.
From OP like... 6 onwards, they _are_ indeed extra long! The series stopped doing EDs, and just went all in on the OP length.
The series is indeed still going. We're past chapter 1060 by now, as well as episode 1000. The manga should apparently be coming to an end in the next few years. Apparently.
My favorites of the openings would all be in the other half video, as they are 13 14 and 24!
thank u very very much cant wait for part 2
FINNALY THE LEGEND IS HERE! Please reacted to the next openings too. The songs, animation, and story are getting better and better 💜
Btw the 2nd ver of We Are is sung by the main characters aka Straw Hat crew so of course it gave the happiest vibe. TVXQ sung the 3rd ver of We Are and the next song Share The World thats why it seems familiar. Fyi if you are confused with the complicated characters actually One Piece mixed the culture around the world so you would find a lot of similarities with them. Thats what makes One Piece more enjoyable to watch and of course the characters are super funny 😂
Also I recommend Durarara and Kuroko no Basket openings!!
The third "We Are" (10th ost) was for One Piece anime's 10th anniversary
Also it's sung by the legendary Kpop band TVXQ (Tohoshinki in japan)
The 11th ost "Share the World" is also sung by them.
FINALLY
cant wait for the next batch of openings
I just started watching One piece a week ago and I just finished episode 43. I gotta say that it's amazing and I know it will just keep getting better and better and first opening is just so good and iconic.
Next half is a complete treasure😍.Although I love some of openings in first half,i love every single one from second half😁
People explained the second version of We Are. But the THIRD VERSION is sang by Tohonshiki or DBSK one of the greatest vocals in korean-japanese pop! They held world record awards and stuff. This band is a fan of OP, so, they singing it, is just perfect!
To know how the crew formed you have to watch the anime = everyone has story, and Yes Luffy - the Strawhat is captain 😀
When you see the Fire Force Openings know One Piece isn't far behind 👀👀
One Piece is literally my favorite anime of all time. My husband introduced me to anime when we first started dating and this show just had me hooked out of all the animes he had me watch😂 there's so much history between a lot of characters and it just makes it so good! This anime will make you laugh, cry and shocked like a rollercoaster! Brook is my favorite introduction to Luffy's crew.
Ah yes the only anime that managed to make me cry over a ship
R.I.P
Going Merry you were the greatest Ship of all time

@@OLF-lotr if you haven't watched one piece at this point then it's your own fault. Show is old as fuck
@@OLF-lotr also no shit it's a spoiler that's why I hid the comment
Spoiler:
Gender bender law is one hell of a twist don't you think
As a dubber even the English covers are so well done !! And I'm finding myself singing along to these but in English.
just want to say, i love how engaging and perceptive your reactions are! you always seem so genuinely interested in what you're watching, and its great to see :) especially as someone who loves this anime!!
🥹❤️
20:18 "This guy always smile" That's the key, man! Nice video and reaction!
YOUR DESCRIPTION OF ONE PIECE YOU DID FROM 32:40 IS ON POINT AND HILARIOUS LMAO
i would say he has to quadruple it at minimum 😁
21:33 "Johnny Bravo Blue head" that's the best description I've ever heard
*Can't wait for part 2!*
And “We Are” is like national anthem for One Piece
Ok you really should react to: The Breathtaking World Of One Piece
So much worth it!
(The Captain is set on having a crew of only 10)
It is still on going with 1,000+ episodes, along with specials and movies.
Everytime Ace appeared, my heart skipped a minute. The most heartbreaking arc. The marineford Arc

This anime is definitely fun, but it can also seriously make you cry both happily and sadly 💕
"That's a brilliant quick summary of what the show's about: here's 20 second thing that's gonna tell what it's about" *20 seconds later* "here's a 4 and a half minute recap of the previous episode"
You finally got to One Piece! Looking forward to the second half!
