Proving Reincarnation | An In-Depth Interview with Jim B. Tucker

  • Prof. Dr. Jim B. Tucker has been researching cases of past life reports in children for 40 years and continues the work of his predecessor Dr. Ian Stevenson, who originated this area of research in the United States.
As director at the Department of Perceptual Studies, Prof. Tucker reviews and examines reports coming in predominantly from people across the United States with first hand reports of children recounting past life memories.
In this interview we look into some of the methods being applied in obtaining, selecting and cross checking data of such extraordinary accounts - 2,500 so far and counting - as well as the implications that might be derived from the results of this particular and unconventional body of scientific investigation.
Next to the evidence collected by Prof. Tucker et al., we discuss related aspects of mind, consciousness, the interaction of mind and body as well as the nature of human consciousness at large.
An In-Depth Online-Interview with Jim B. Tucker by Werner Nieke
    Contents:
00:34 Is consciousness indeed resulting from a neural activity, electricity and the action of neurotransmitters?
03:26 If consciousness is primary and the biological is secondary, how would you say: Where can a personality be found?
05:14 People say the self is an illusion, we are just dreaming it and it is a movie. Could the same be true for consciousness?
07:37 Are you referencing to the concept of a soul?
08:34 Can you speak about some cases that show exactly what you found and why you think that there is something larger at work here?
13:42 What do you say to sceptics?
15:21 Why were children in the first place?
19:17 Do you find hypnosis as a means of gathering data serious scientific matter?
24:28 Is there a threshold of numbers of facts that you crosschecked?
28:54 Some people have birthmarks that corresopond to the cause death in their previous lives …
31:55 What can the facilitating physical or genetic process be that they are born with that defects?
35:37 Where is this information stored if it is not in our brains and our bodies?
36:37 Do you think that quantum physics might actually have clues as to what the nature of consciousness is?
41:24 We carry over a charge that we are to work for, to remove the layers of that charge. Is that something you ever get in conflict with?
42:46 Science and religion or spirituality don't need to contradict each other …

I was strict Catholic did not believe in reincarnation until I had a dream of being a male pilot that was killed in Pearl Harbor. Only 11 years between lifetimes. My senses were heightened. I could feel the heat of the sun on my body, I smell fragrant flowers, and saw beautiful mountains. I woke up screaming and shaking. My husband got scared and ran into the bedroom. I found out who I was years later. I had full recall of place I was born, what area I was born in, knew my rank as an officer. I knew I had a father and sister.

Jim Tucker is a scientific giant in that his research and research tradition are paradigm breaking-and almost no one knows! In time this will change but it behooves is all to be aware of and read this work, help disseminate it, and reflect upon it.

For what it's worth, @Hristo Biserov: Netflix have released a 6-episode-documentary called "Surviving Death", in which Dr. Tucker appears (I believe in ep. 5) and some original interview snippets with the here referenced persons are part of episode 5 and some of the questions that he sent to the families prior to interviewing the subjects directly. "Consciousness" is vast and continues throughout all lifetimes; "personality" is confining and only applies to the current lifetime the person is living in. "Individuality" belongs to the vastness of consciousness and all lifetimes. This is what everyone confuses and it's highly important. I have decades of experience in the medical and scientific field but I also have studied comparative religions and have decades of experience in areas of "spirituality" which is highly different and not even related to being religious-another large area of confusion which is throwing off and delaying all this research. Until spirituality comes together with the medical and scientific the conclusions will never be achieved in my humble opinion.

Some layers of the field contain simple information about the solid matter of your body and its frequency, while other layers {contain information about} your spirit, your consciousness or, speaking from a human-religious point of view, your soul. Awareness or consciousness in this case is a simple energy matrix, divided into different layers of your field in the sphere of influence - nothing more, nothing less. The consciousness/awareness matrix, or soul, can also be separated from its field of rest. It can, despite its removal, continue to exist in a self-sufficient manner for a certain amount of time. The para-layer layer is not limited only to the individual, but rather as a part of a general information layer - you could call it in a prosaic sense the community soul - that is connected with all animate and inanimate matter and all consciousness which exist on this main level.

FEAR: Christianity really put a number on humanity. You can hear and see it every day in every corner of life. "They" made sure that was included for a very desired effect, Fear!
Don't want to use the term "Soul" because it's a religious term. Why? If it applies, use it. Fear is Christianity's PTSD. YOU should not have to go through this!

I believe all trauma, if not resolved, will be recreated by events in your next life so that you can work on those issues. What those events are you will never be able to guess. Being restricted in this life will lead to some kind of restriction in your next life if not resolved already. In prison in your previous life may lead to becoming a Jehovah's Witness in this life.
I don't like to use the word sin, but if there is one then it is to be the original cause of trauma. However, to hit someone's triggers so that they remember their pains and fears is part of the healing process, but only if you don't push it too far. Quite a bit of information on the mechanics of erasing memories is now available and the therapeutic use of MDMA seems to gain momentum.

Learning about reincarnation as an intellectual concept is interesting, however, experiencing events from past lives will leave no doubt. It may not be scientifically proven, and again this is using the mind rather than going beyond mind with concepts. Children in particular don't have a firm identity so it is perfectly natural to remember events from previous incarnations.

I think it would be very irrational to disbelief reincarnation. if we would accept that immortality is a fact it would take the pressure of. it would help us to escape this sense of desperation that this is all there is & i think that this would come with the feeling of serenity, peace & traquality that would be translated to the world.

The Bible has been rewritten many times.
There are many passages that were voted out of the Bible during the revisions. There are also other documents about Jesus: The Dead Sea scrolls & those found at Nag Hamadi. Some of them talk about reincarnation. It is believed that all mention of reincarnation was taken out of the Bible sometime in 500’s AD. One story goes that the church was losing members because they saw no reason to be 'good' in this life.

@@krisc6216 this is exactly what I have mentioned in comment sections on similar talks when the religious fanatics get carried away with their usual standard responses and references to biblical scripture, which they rely on because most of them can't think for themselves and have a sensible conversation, rather they just follow the leader- meaning the authoritarian rule of the church and their "dogma", so thank you for mentioning that, it's very important and it is accurate.

I wonder if most people can say that they can recall a past life or perhaps choose to ignore it or lose it in memory passed away as imagination... I for one hold onto glimpses or slices of life memories that were definitely not my own but in multiple times and places. A feeling of the time itself. I cannot say if the past life memories are real but I do feel I was a different person within them and that speaks volumes. I have visions on memories of being a person from the ice age, the height of Egyptian minoan culture, the first millenia or after, Georgian or Victorian, the civil American war, the 60s or 70s and perhaps more in between I cannot truly say

Have you ever been accused of telling a story as your own.. you know speaking as if you were there .. then when someone asks something you were not told you say i donno I wasn’t there so and so was there.
People say oh why you present like you there.
      I was just telling you.
This has always confused me because of the admission instead of lies when pressed and almost a -How else would I tell the story attitude-
That was a trait my husband had when I met him .. now 25 years later he has told me MY stories… I say umm wth that was me. He looks perplexed and has said well I must of too because I can see myself I can tell you what place looked like what I was wearing etc but if asked to recall things not in that snapshot he is at a loss or starts making shit up vs younger wldnt have but I can tell he believes that was his experience.
The way you stated the memories all having commercialized references.
Unless you are in specific small locations knowing the social climate is odd..
not trying to knock your memories actually trying to explore how the brain takes things and files in different places and why. Why do we remember little snipits that our family does not have an actual picture of or that they tell a story about. That’s an example too where someone will say they remember but they remember the picture not the reality of the whole ..

I remembered parts of past lives from the time I was a small child, a concerning problem for my parents who were Catholic. After reading Dr. Michael Newton's book I sought out a hypnotic regressionist who was trained by him. In five sessions I had remembered/discovered and owned far more than I could have ever suspected. There were rich details about the lives as such it made absolute sense how people can write historic fiction.
I also became aware that many of the lives I've lived were in different, if not parallel times. Example: Think of a radio, you're searching out the stations that are broadcasting all at the same time.. Not all of the programming broadcast on the radio is happening in the present (like playing a record of a hit that was recorded earlier in the year. It's an item from the past that 's presented in the present.
Much of this has been covered in the books: "The Team: A Mother's wisdom from the other side."

Death is not final we are conscious beings we come to this material world in material body for some reason in different life forms accto the duty given to us by Supreme conscious (GOD). So our consciousness is immortal & eternal it does not die with bodily death it continue its journey in same or different life forms. This body is given to consciousness which is real us for a limited time & consciousness does not die with bodily death we have to understand this ultimate reality & truth. GOD created everything for some reason so we to have understand this truth & live life with real meaning & ethics, it will give us inner peace, happiness & removes frustration, fear, anxiety. Be a compassionate ,loving being, enjoy life & do our duty honestly this is the real meaning of life & GOD is more than happy to see this & help us every time when we need him.

@Susan Gibson, again I'd have to mention the Netflix docu "Surviving Death", episode 5, with Dr. Tucker and those two strong cases. I found it interesting how the now incarnated Marty Martin - now an adult - didn't want to go there any longer and even refused to speak while they interviewed his still living relatives from his former life and compared some of his earlier statements as a boy with those that the family remembers. There were some not-so-minor discrepancies and I got the strong sense that all parties involved were very uncomfortable with being in the spotlight like that. I only reference this, because I also think that only the most salient and sensationalist aspects of this case keep getting reiterated over and over, while ignoring the maybe even more important aspect of how this makes everyone feel _today_....

I've always thought it the strangest thing - to believe in Eternal Life (Infinite Existence), as most religions do - and yet - not believe in a repeating, incarnating process of Infinite Life. (Reincarnation) There is a definite disassociation there, which can probably only be attributed to sectarian dogma. How are the teachings of reaping EXACTLY, or even proportionally - what one has sown legitimate without a repeating, incarnating process? Galatians 6:7
"...Do not be deceived; God (The Absolute or Infinite Reality) - is not mocked: whatever a man sows, THAT is what he shall also reap."
Seems to imply that - what is sown in a particular realm of experience (the realm of flesh), is likewise reaped in the same or similar realm of experience. (The realm of flesh).

With regards to karma, or sowing what you reap, I think the key to it is attachment. This can be to people or activities. Hopefully, as a soul clothed in flesh, we can learn our lessons and one day graduate. Developing awareness can help.

Amazing subject; appears our essence of mind is some form of energy independent from the brain but uses the brain as a temporary portal into our reality. But so many questions, how can this enduring energy store/maintain its "information" in the ether of space and not dissipate over time into heat? Perhaps it's rooted in another dimension that has laws of physics that facilitate it. Also it appears to be specific/compartmentalized to humans and our cosmic location, I have not heard of any past memory cases with distant Alien species memories. It's a shame most scientists ignore this information/evidence, just like in the mountain of cases involving UAP's, such a travesty. Hope more answers can be discovered and theories on its root origins and mechanisms proposed

Jee! No soul or consciousness or whatever, is fool enough to incarnate at conception. You don't pretend that you have a home when you have just one break. You callbit home when it's full, it has a roof and everything necessarily to a normal living. When you have the keys in your hands, you have a home. And that's at birth.

    • @SBCBears
      @SBCBears ปีที่แล้ว

"Consciousness" in Buddhism is definitely not the "transmigrant". The Buddhist use of "consciousness" refers to normal daily awareness. This normal awareness is conditional and does not survive across lifetimes because it changes.
The concept of transmigration is not part of Buddhism. While lifetimes are experienced, the "aspect" that endures in never born, per se, nor dies.

If they were meant to live life and be able to make free will choices to learn and grow, how could such a short physical existence accomplish that? It can't. Translate it, this text is in Spanish (🇪🇦):
👋😦😐☝😦👇😌😏🧠💭💡👈👇😌👋😦😏👉👀👓➡🗣💬👥✍📃📄👉👨‍🔬👩‍🔬⚛✅✌

What is the soul or Conciouness and body :Lord Krishna, "Shrimad Bhagavad Gita" 📖 (It is considered to be one of the holy scriptures for Hinduism).
In Mahabharata, Lord Krishna was like a confidante and counselor for Arjuna at all times. Here are some words from holy book Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
Lord Krishna told to Arjuna - Understand this truth, It is only body that dies whereas, the soul or conciousness is eternal. The soul or conciousness is immortal. The soul or conciouness is neither born nor will it die. It is perpetual, endless and infinite which doesn’t die even when the body is dead.
Arjuna says - Your words are confusing me! You are combining two issues which contradict to one another!
You claim that body dies but the soul or conciousness which is a part of the body doesn’t die.
Lord Krishna says to Arjuna - No arjuna, I never said that the soul or conciouness was a part of the body. I said that the soul or conciousness and the body are two independent parts. Just as you and your armour are the different things. If your armour is cut into 2 pieces, it doesn’t mean that you are cut into 2 pieces. Just as you and your armour are two different things or you. Similarly, the body and the soul or conciousness of a human being are 2 different things.

Well just from this interview I can tell you one of ryan's statements that didn't match with Marty Martins life. The word Mount was not in the title of his address. Finds death certificate that contradicts reincarnation theory so carries on looking till he finds evidence that reinforces reincarnation theory. Did he do the same for all the statements that the child made that semed correct? Did he carry on looking to see if there were alternative documents that disproved them? %0 statements correct how many incorrect and how do you explain the incorrect statements surely it should be 100% correct. There is a mount or rock in my address so presumably marty martins lived in one place for the whole of his life? Scientist investigating this records this information as a hit even though it is equally wrong as right, there was no mount in the Address though if you keep going back maybe you might find an old settlers record of a river mount farm 400 years before. Maybe you could record this as a hit. Christ I hope the evidence is better that what is being presented, mum buys child books on hollywood and scientist ignores this glaring source of information but records a half wrong guess as a hit. I have a past life, I once lived in a street in hollywood that had the address with the word wood or forest in it and my name was Mc govern. The boy doesn't seem to have known his own name? Why ? did they find some more pictures of the person the boy says he was and mix them up with lots of other very similar looking people and see if the boy could pick them out with 100% accuracy? But for now, their main foundation of Orch-OR was disproven, i.e. there was no evidence for the so-called "collapse" of the wave function in the brain. And that idea is one of the main tenets upon which their theory stands and builds from, i.e. that the "orchestrated collapse" of that wavefunction happens in the brain and thus facilitates a conscious experience, which Hameroff always speaks of as "bing!" ;-)

It’s a shame that he is willing to accept a number of collaborative evidence to support a reincarnation view but easily dismisses past life regression evidence which a number of cases have equal evidence. Seems if you are willing to believe in a greater consciousness you’d be willing to accept other ways to connect to that consciousness.

I think it's important to keep in mind that he speaks as a scientist here, @Rich Thornton, who is still rooted in the accepted methodology of science that has been around for hundreds of years. From that POV, he simply says that past life regression and information obtained by way of hypnosis or a trance or a medium doesn't provide reliable, dependable data, that's all. I didn't take him as strictly rejecting it per se, but not being anything he is at liberty of seriously considering as part of his work in this field. Hope, this helps, didn't mean to lecture.

What evidence did past life regression therapy provide?Do they also go to the houses, cities and villages to verify what the children and adults saying during hypnosis ??Actually I have watched only these collaborative evidences without hyonosis ??I am just curious to know ..I am not against past life regression therapy ..I don't read books as such so I watch and I didn't find any such video which can provide information about the evidences of reincarnation through hypnosis on TH-cam that .I searched a lot ..So I m just asking can u reply me with any such evidence of reincarnation or verification done by hypnosis as well ..as I m not fond of reading books ..Can you help me with that ??Just one evidence by replying to my comment again I m not against your comment I m just asking

I wonder if there were any anonymous anecdotes that might correspond to this guy. Did the good doctor collect and read all these books as part of his research in order to see if any details the child reported cropped up in these books? If not thats piss poor research?
