I mounted mine on an Umarex Notos PCP rifle. They appear to be made for each other. I use the combo for pest control in my suburban backyard. It's near perfect.
I am curious which one you would recommend for pesting rats around my house with an Air rifle. I have had my wife's car in the shop twice in one month because pack rats are or whatever it is is getting up in the engine compartment and chewing wires. 1,000 dollars later I have decided to deal with the pests. Not sure where you would recommend the sightmark 4k mini or the zulus not sure I need that LRF zulus because my hunting setups have the burris eliminator 6 on it and we really can't hunt at night here except for certain pests. Sorry for the long drawn out questions if you had patreon I would reach out to you there and I love your content.
@@RugerGundog Quick release would be nice. I've been checking these scopes out. And one man said you could zero the scope for different guns! He said the scope had different setting for multiple zero. Or you could set zero for different loads! One for dear and one for varmint. If he is right that would make this scope a GEM!!!!
If you simply leave it on your gun and use it regular it all becomes automatic very quickly, you only need to connect a phone for initial setup and updates, you're watching a tv screen so can view from any angle.
Great review . I was curious: What is the lag time between the scope and let's say your phone . I know from personal use the AGM Adder is 0 lag and ATN 4k pro is 1-2 seconds. On the ATN thor4 the lag would get longer the longer you were connected. I use both for ratting with a couple of pcp air rifle. The reason I ask is I've been looking for a LRF night scope for ratting.
Hey, great info! You’ve probably answered this question 1000 times, but I just found your channel. Can you tell me what gun vise is behind you in this video? Thanks in advance!
Would love to hear more details on the discrepancies you found with the built in ballistics calculator and your known data. Appreciate your comments and would really like to see night time footage on a centerfire at some point if you're taking requests.
@@RugerGundog I also have had some pretty massive discrepancies with some of my pellets, One particular pellet I changed the BC to .5, Yes that is .5 not the .024 that is about the normal, Now it tracks almost perfect out to 100 yards Edit: I do absolutely love the scope and so much I bought a 2nd one and like you stated there is a STEEP learning curve.
Spot on review , I agree & enjoyed very much . I am years older than you & know what you mean about the fine cross hairs , I like the kill box better .
I just purchased the lrf model and I am having trouble sighting it in. Had to move target up to 10 yds to hit paper, hits 8" left and 6" low on an AR that was fine with a good Nikon scope . can't seem to move the reticle following the manual and it puts out no bluetooth signal that my phone will pick up. it will hook to wifi sometimes but then you are unable to change reticle . it tells you to unhook from wifi. My live picture also freezes when it does hook to phone through wifi. I have tried resetting to factory settings twice with no change.I had to wait 6 weeks to get it from Arken and I am pretty frustrated but have contacted them for help. Hopefully we can get it resolved. Thanks for your video.
But can you actually use it without any battery?? Like if i dont want to use any of those "fancy" features, or if i just ran out of battery, can i still use it as an optical scope?
I love my Arken Zulus day/night scope. Although I do wish it came in 1x to 5x which would be mint for zero to 200 yards even 300 yards. I also took the eye relief off the back much better site picture. Other than this it’s a great little scope that is very versatile day or night.
3X version comes with LRF which adds weight, size and price. I understand they are catering to shooters but LRF & BC are unnecessary for border security and other applications.
Man I just want to scope I can see at night with I don't want Bluetooth I don't want my phone hooked up I don't want to record I just want to shoot at night Anybody make anything like that
You will absolutely love it for this. Check out video I just posted. The last deer that was shot...the one that ran a bit. It was dark enough naked eye that it really could not be seen. The footage is very clear and not even in IR mode.
Question, do i need the ballistic ap? Generally no shots on our plot over 75 yrds.going to put it on my old 270,that drops deer plenty over the years.just my old eyes and twilight hour shooting.really want to zero it and call it a day.confusion is not on the menu.
ok cool video.. so now questions...im in my stand the scope is off and i see a deer coming... How long does it take to turn on &:be ready to take shoot??
@RugerGundog ok that's not bad but I'm guessing having the battery pack might be the better way to go. In Nw MI where I hunt sometimes that's all I have to identify n make sure he meets the restrictions we have up there.
I absolutely love it 😂you Americans are crazy doomsday prep,EmP proof what about radio tv or even walkie talkies your wach your phone everything you want to keep in the enclosure box ? Even if would happen in the future always would be handy to learn using iron sights
@@piterex7 Prepping and EMPs have little to do with DOOMSDAY, to me. The sun can make an EMP!!! A bad storm or a layoff, can make you wish you had food and extra money saved!!!! I need a night scope to kill coon killing my chickens! It would be nice to have quick mounts when I'm not using the scope. And why not store it in a EMP prop bag? By the way I'm 72 and I been using irons for 62 years!!!!!!
Still can't get mine to connect to my phone to zero it. I just visualize a quarter inch below the entire reticle and a tad left...lol... groups all day long. I could do TH-cam vids galore...not. I'm old but technology isn't cooperating.
I have this optic and I find 3 major issues with it. 1. The reticle is way too small and despite having a redshot iris on it, during the day the reticle being so small is extremely difficult to see. 2. The manual is terrible. 3. I have had it shut off during a shot. My main issue is the tiny reticle. Arken is aware but doesn’t seem to care to fix the issue.
This waffle is not of any use to me when trying to buy, I want to see actual coverage in a live situation of just what the scope can or cannot do in daylight/night time & the ease of doing it,....
Your channel is so underrated. Your reviews are amazing, and you present great information. Please keep making these videos!
I really appreciate the compliment. Thank you.
I got one going to put it on my pcp gun. What do you think
Roger, I would be interested in your adjusted ballistic info for your 6.5 creedmoor. I would like to mount the Zulus on my Tikka 6.5.
I use the Hornady app mostly

Awesome. Fun stuff
Very accurate... Very fair review... It does get a little pixel distortion at zoom .. but overall for the money its an incredible unit... Honestly
Thanks for chiming in. I do agree
Anyone know if the Zulus mounts well and holds zero with a AD-ETECH-R STD mount?
Not sure but taking mine on and off the zero holds pretty close to true. Good enough for predator hunting use.

For that you don't need the laser range finder. Get the base model
@@RugerGundog Thank you so much
Ideally this would be handy as a quick release Scope to put on for nighttime uses; keeping the main scope for daytime.
They work real well in daytime too. Cool feature to be able to record.

I agree 100% like mine, what ballistic software are you using? Haven't stretched legs out yet...
I use the Hornady software.
So am I understanding this right once I get it zeroed I can pop it off my rifle and when I put it back on its still zeroed
Pretty much yes. You will only get a very minor shift from what I found. Not enough to matter for hunting.
@RugerGundog thank you much appreciated
If you simply leave it on your gun and use it regular it all becomes automatic very quickly, you only need to connect a phone for initial setup and updates, you're watching a tv screen so can view from any angle.

I didn't notice any. The processing is very quick
Thank you for the review,
Is it possible to just turn it on and zero it without having to use any apps or sync anything?
Yes. I don't really use app much myself.

For just night vision purposes how would you rate the Arken compared to other night vision scopes (in its price range}?
I really place it in top. It's now DNT. But for the money the package really outperform other that even cost bit more. The small size is huge bonus.

I do plan to fire at night, yes.
As for ballistics. I've working through issues. Basically having to slow the velocity to get it to track out properly

Thanks for that!
I agree the fine reticle is hard to see in daylight mode at times. I wish the brightness of the reticle was adjustable.
Me too
Which one is the better choices Rix t20, nv400 or the Zulus
The Zulus in my opinion is best. Smaller, easier to use. Nv400 works well just huge!

No. You are basically looking at the screen of a camera

3-12X currently available in Europe, coming to US.

You use it simple too. It will totally get the job done.
Were you possibly referring to the SIG BDX system as a ballistic comparison?
No I was not.
Just orderd one.65 year old eyes arent what they were.our deer are always ( usually) out last 5 minutes of legal light.i guess we ll see..
