i hope they offer some steps up on the thermal option having both thermal and night in 1 unit is amazing . usually hog hunting in texas i like to use thermals for spotting and stalk up close enough to use NV to be 100% certain for better identification and shot . i have couple family ranches we hunt full of cows and other animals . if we had no cows or other livestock i would likely just run thermal. but i cannot tell you how many times far out what you think is a " big hog" ends up being a small calf / cow laying down . be careful!
Thanks for the review! Are the reticles changeable on the day/night side and the thermal side? On the Zulus there are multiple colors along with multiple reticles.
Hi. This is a VERY easy question to answer. Although I don't have a DNT thermal scope, I recently bought a DNT "The One" 7-35X56 clone of the new Arken EP5 Gen ll, which I also have. I'm no fan of communist China, BUT, they are capable of building optics (F-35s) and ANYTHING else, IF, you are willing to pay the $. That's why the retired SEAL sought out a great OEM. Yes, these scopes are NOT S&B, Kahles, ZCO, etc, but for the average non-snob, scope owner, they are awesome. Buy one and you'll see. BTW, I have 4 Arken EP5s, an SH4J, and 4 Discovery PRS 5-25X56 Gen lls that are perfect for my target rifle needs. LOL, even the CV Life "Bear Swift" 5-25X56 scope I bought from Amazon for $199 was superior to my brand new Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25X56. And that's an $800 scope. I was so impressed that when Amazon had another $100 off sale, I now have 4 of those. I'm not rich, just a retired old Engineer who has WAY too many rifles.
I’ve been looking into buying one of these but i live in sweden and they dont deliver to sweden unfortunately. Sometimes i can buy from amazon in the us but its not in stock unfortunately.. any tips on where i can get this shipped to sweden?
The reticle stays still and a holdover subtension shows where to aim for the calculated ballistic solution (hold-over/-under) at your chosen range. Two videos on my channel already too, with more coming soon. Great video. 👏🤓
@@PorkPoliceHunting i agree. Just thinking in a worst case scenario. Your home.. tren-de-aqua has a group and there looking to loot.. one of them has night vision with ir. Probably never gonna happen but if you want to keep your footprint/profile as low as possible.. thermal is the way to go. It cannot see heat through glass and has a few other drawbacks but overall i think its better to keep a low profile visually. These days.. many, many more people have ir night vision vs thermal. I like little to no signature.
@@PorkPoliceHunting mostly correct but deer do have limited ir light seeing ability. Also, some animals can see the process of turning the ir light on. Correct me if I'm wrong. Great video by the way. Love to see more on thermal.
Thermo and scopes are complete rip off. What are they made of common materials. Glass ? Coatings? Cheap materials. engineering? That's been paid for about 5000 units ago. Hell, 5, 000 to 10,000 you can go buy a nice Harley for that. How much materials are in that bike. Maybe just maybe a little more. Thieves all on them. Thermo scope, well, there's a sucker every day. Okay a grand well cost them 300 to make.
@@GuitarBuilderatbluemoonguitars well we all don’t have owl eyes like you so we need them to be able to hunt at night, calm down Karen, don’t buy one then? It’s that easy.
@@GuitarBuilderatbluemoonguitars we do a lot of reviews and testing for several companies and have had a couple scopes given to us but we have 18 units most of which we have purchased. Now I would never buy a 6k-9k thermal but 1k-4k we do own
Sure looks like it. A number of youtubers are talking about this but I only found one showing actual usage and it looks like the thermal is working of the night vision. Even the word salad on their site never separates the two only saying one enhances the other.

I'm IN on a 635 unit ! Would be perfect.
Looking at these now I'm seeing them for $999 and damn is that amazing.
Its possible because these guys are showing the world that everyone else has been deliberately holding the price well above there worth

I have the dnt day /night scope 520 lrf. And wow what a bit ov kit for little money
When setting up the scope height for ballistics measure to the upper day/night objective lens
Does the reticle actually move to compensate for distance? I read on their site that you then use the ballistic info to dial-in or hold-over.
The reticle stays still and a holdover subtension shows where to aim for the calculated ballistic solution (hold-over/-under) at your chosen range.
