I passed on these. Just can't get into buying aros anymore. I liked The Beast and Eight State Burley. Now ESB burns a little warm too, but I like the flavors it has. Still can't get away from the Cigar blends. Lots of Habana Daydream and Country Lawyer. Lots of OJK and Big N Burley. That pinch of Latakia is a treat. Hope your having a good weekend Brian. I passed on all sun bear releases, just nothing that got me interested. My aromatics is either autumn evening or vanilla creme from macbaren. I did not care for any boswell aromatic they have sutliff/lane bulk aromatic leaf properties to them (which most probably it is where they source their blend from) which does not sit well with me. Keep up the honest work, you are the best reviewer for a reason

I bought quite a few tins of last year's Sun Bear Black Locust and liked it so this year I only picked up a few tins of this version. I really pick up the honey flavor on it and I like the Virginia flavors, but I agree that it isn't the greatest blend ever made for sure. To me it's a good change of pace blend from the heavy VaPer's like Exclusive I smoke often. I really wish C&D would do another run of Small Batch Sansepolcro.

Interesting how different some taste are. I get a real sweet and sour flavor profile slight spice.But It has to be smoked real slow or it gets hot and the flavor just washes away. Awesome review as always. I’m interested to see how you like the London burley blend. Have a good weekend.

Spot on, it's very delicate ya gotta go slow and sip it to pull out the flavors, go fast it gets harsh. The second half of the bowl it's all orientals, oily, oriental spice, the magic is in the first half.

I’ve only ever bought the black locust release. I smoke it occasionally because my SO loves the smell (and I almost never smoke aromatics) and it is mild on a really hot day. I didn’t get this batch because I still have some black locust left.

Not sure how long you let it dry but I set it out and didn’t touch for almost 2 hours. First 1/4 of bowl was sweet berries that didn’t thrill me but the rest of bowl was citrusy, sweet and sour. Tasted like drinking a cocktail to me and like that it’s a lighter smoke for hot summer days. Have a great weekend buddy!

It's easy to see why they release it at midnight. It builds hype and a fear of missing out. I heard recently C&Ds sales have jumped 30 percent from last year. I can't blame them for releasing these constant "small batches". It's simple... people buy them. Can't buy them fast enough. So fast their website crashes. Their marketing is on point.

Last year I bought a pound even though I knew I wouldn't love it. I don't hate it but it's not for me. The tin I put in a mason jar is still soggy after a year and I feel that the high quality tobacco is over shadowed by the casing. I'm hoping in a decade it will be better but I expect it will probably be moldy judging by how wet it is.

Glad I passed on this one. I bought a couple pounds of anthology. Going to take a break from bulk buys for a while lol. As like everyone else I started with aromatics and moved on from that. I've been skipping the C&D limited stuff for awhile. I know the blends I like from them, and those are usually older stuff like red carpet, pirate kake, etc. I save my money for SG, K&K, and other European drops. I'll stock up on that stuff, considering how things are going. Cheers

I've come to the realization that C+D and I are at odds with other. Laudisi behaving like C+D is a Disney franchise. Pushing out new releases monthly if not weekly. And it's showing in the end product. 1 out of 20 tobacco might be from C+D that I own. Peace, Warped, Druqure mostly. Different strokes and all.

Have all versions, this is the second best one for me so far. The original release being the best imo. This is very delicate and needs to be slipped with a slow cadence to pull out the subtle flavors and sweetness that go along with the nose ya get which is awesome, so set aside 30-50 mins to do this one right. If you push this it will get harsh and you lose that flavor and it gets a bit nasty honestly, same happened with the other versions. The second half is all orientals, oily, oriental spice, some bitterness, toasted flowery tea. I think they should go a different direction with this blend in the future, get away from the oriental forward and push more Virginia but that's just me. Thanks for review you will enjoy that London Burley for sure.

@@beans316 yeah I can't see this one being a favorite for seasoned smokers that are into stronger tobaccos and bolder flavors and certainly not ppl that don't like orientals, this for me is for the oriental lover or for the aromatic smoker that can't take much nicotine but enjoys tobacco flavor with toppings, lid for every pot haha. I don't reach for it often, but after going on pipe hiatuses picking up blends like this really pop flavor wise, especially if your used to smoker bolder blends like haunted book shops or Hoggarth twists that get you on the vitamin N train 😂

I think this one isn’t as good as the last couple that came out. Kinda reminds me of Honey Nut Cheerios with a little hint of sweetness then falls flat half way through smoking. Nothing exciting my opinion. Another great review my friend. Enjoy the weekend

Not to worry John. Taste is subjective. I myself find Sun Bear Mountain Flower a pure delight for the senses. Very Oriental forward but with a nice sweetness from the honey and Virginias. You may like it as well.

@@beans316 I do find the blend intriguing. I would classify it as more of a tobacco forward Va/Oriental blend with an aromatic essence as opposed to a straight aromatic. When I think of aromatics, I think of heavily cased black cavendish blends. As always, we like what we like. One man's trash is another man's treasure. All the best.

I wasn’t a fan of the Black Locust version. It tastes bland at mid bowl and is like smoking a cigarette. The only flavour I get is beeswax and I pretty much think it behaves like a bad aromatic.

That is why I never try any of those blends. In my personal opinion, they only buy those to be accepted in the pipe community. Most pipe smokers do not understand what they are doing, but they want to move with the flow because they think this is the only way to be a brother of the leaf, so it is all about acceptance.
