@@beans316 I haven’t tried this years release but I’m sure it has the same taste as last years. I know you say MacBaren gives you MacBite, but I have to say they are a great blending house. Really enjoy the HH Burley Flake and HH Pure Virginia. With the latter I have to make sure it’s well dried out and smoke it slowly cause any blend that is straight Virginia bites me just like aromatics do.

I wish i've one of this cool and beautiful tins (just the tin without tobacco), not the german ones with the big warnings on it! It always amazes me that you can pop those round tins with the fingernails, Royal Twist was a big seller for our store back in the 1970's, never quite understood why Macbaren discontinue it, a very diistinctive blend which benefits greatly from the perique.
My self , I have a few tins...at first I found it wasn't my likeing but after I let it sit in a jar for awhile it was nice....but need to let dry a bit..
I like mac baren products. I bought some plum cake navy cut and it was good but just i little bity. This one looks delish gona try some. I really like that pipe your smoking. Take care and thank you.

Good morning Brian. I had a hunch you would like this. The perique put it in your wheel house. I've watched a video with MacBarens head blender, forgot his name. He mentioned that their coin tobaccos are meant to be folded so that the Virginia's smoke cooler. So I'm sure your stack method has the same effect. I think I got two or three tins last year, I got three this year. I'm still smoking the one tin I opened from last year. Love Cohiba! He looked pretty happy. I'm struggling with Mac Baren coins. I found Stockton and Club Blend to be mostly tasteless. I was excited to try the Newminster coins and was blown away. I have a tin of Royal Twist from last year I haven't opened because I might just want to trade it and I passed on this year's version. I have to see if I can find a way to coax the flavor out before I open anymore MB coin tins.
I'll have to get some next go round. I love Virginia/DF blends like solani silver or Scottish flake and adding perique can only make it better. I usually stick to their excellent HH line but I got the latakia rolls last year and those were quite good. Have you seen the new Drucqer and Sons loch ness blend? Looks promising
@@beans316 Sadly, lips and mouth get all red and gums get swollen. Tongue gets pretty lit up too. I use nasal snuff mostly for my nicotine and just sit and wish I could smoke a pipe haha. I do love nasal snuff though.

Picked up 5 tins on this drop never having it before. Funny, when I opened the tin, I immediately thought BBQ. It is a wonderful smoke and I thought the dark fired was a little more present than you. Perhaps I was also getting the parique. Hopefully next year they will offer it again.
I picked up 3 tins of the first release, but didn’t open one to see if I needed to buy more in last week’s drop. You and I have very similar taste and now wish I had more without even smoking it yet😀
I tried the first batch and did not like it enough to buy from the second batch, i like the savinelli dublone d'oro better for me its smoother. The normal royal twist is in their regular line but it does not have the perique and i favor this one over it indeed. Cohiba is an old timer isnt he? Never seen him before. I have a small one that hogs me when ever i light a pipe or a cigar.
Great review as always! I’m curious how this blend compares to the savinelli Doblone d’oro. I think they’re supposed to have the same components. What are your thoughts? Best! John
Thanks for watching my friend yes I believe they have the same components but I think the Macbaren Twist is a more forward perique and the Savenelli was more burley forward

It took like 20 minutes for my poor pipe to cool down. I just can't ever have a nice cool bowl of Virginia it seems lol.

The Stockton does not have perique so you may like this one better it’s nice and sweet and spicy
