A lot of my customers asked me "how can we transform a product to a part like in CATIA V5?" and the answer → Derived Representation feature in CATIA Assembly Design.
In the video you can see how to transform a small assembly to a part and make a cut. You can keep the links with original parts and change parameters.

Words are not enough to describe how grateful I am with Dassault for making a 2 click V5 task such complicated in V6. And many other tasks like this ...
and they say it took 10 years to create this version....Once operation we done a CATPART with V5, why complicate it?

what can this derived representation be used for ? I was trying to modify link of a view in the drawing however it does not allow the view to be linked to a 3d shape.
is there a way to take multiple bodies and put them into one part once you are in derived representation?
I see you added them one at a time
you can shift click to select multiple!
create video in parameter and formula creation and if possible design table too....

I made 3dexperience ID but can't understand how to download and install 3dexperience. Please help me and suggest me the process to download and install 3ds Platform.

Why do they made it so complicated, why they totally ruin old good catia. In V5 it was 5 seconds task.
Hello Slawomir, It is slightly more complicated but it is also more advance than in V5. In 3DExperience you can select each parts you want and you also have a PLM management that you do not have in V5.
I can not believe you made 10 years V5 user search for this in google !!!!!
