I was so moved by your coming out story and impressed with you and your maturity. Don't ever allow anyone deny you your rightful place at America's table. I only wish I had your courage to come out earlier in my life than I did. The earlier one can come out safely the better.

Two things... 1) You are SO intelligent! 2) I'm glad you had a positive experience coming out and are aware of those who do not. Good luck in the future and have an awesome life!

I love ya and am glad you opened up and shared that. Makes NO DIFFERENCE to those who truly love you! :) GREAT VIDEO!!!!!

Came across your video and I had to stop by to watch! This is strong of you to do because it’s such a vulnerable story and not always easy to share. I respect you for sharing ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💪🏽

Thank you! Just watched your coming out video too! I love your point that we only get to come out to a particular person once, so we need to make sure we do it in the best way possible!

Tanner Eustace aw.. well thanks for watching! It really is a matter of how you decide to express your truth. It’s a tough thing to do of course. It may not change the outcome but at least you can have peace that you did your best if you respect other perspectives while doing so ✊🏽 After all, its not about what you do- it’s why/how you do it.

"Then one day something changed". We all have that day. For me it was in 1972. I was a High School freshman on a movie date with the captain of the cheerleading team..........the movie was Cabaret and Micheal York found out blue was his color. And I finally found mine.

Thank You for becoming a role model for those coming up behind you. If you had asked me when I was your age (50+ yrs ago) I would never have dreamed that society would be so accepting as it is now . . . especially young school age people. It's awesome to see role models on TV and in movies too. . . and don't even get me started bout Marriage Equality . . . What? ? ? Not only were there no visible role models "back in my day" . . . but the only places gay people had to be accepted were gay bars and I lived in a beach city that had a few areas on the beach where gay people discreetly gathered. That was IT. I know even though society has progressed a lot . . . It's still difficult for each individual to take that step. So very proud of you that you have managed to progress with such dignity.

Blessings on coming out. You’re a very intelligent young man. I’m glad to hear that it went well for you. Now comes the time when you move forward with confidence, but you may hit some bumps in the road? I would hate to know that soon you will also learn the negative aspects of being a gay man. I’ll end it here, and put my thoughts on a more personal email. So you can expect that later today....Sunday, Jan. 24th. I’m alex from LA

Here, may this wisdoms leads you to a better life for you and your loved ones:-
"See the world not as it is, but as it should be."
"Nobody should ever feel belittled for whoever they love".
"Religion is about *PEACE* and *MERCY* of God."
"When you get to God, He will never judge you based on your sexuality. He will judge and look at you, based on what type of a person you are."
"God loves us beyond any and everything else, and that’s who we should love first."
"You're entitled to love whoever you want to, the way that you want to, without the judgement of anyone else."
"And in the sight of God, *KINDNESS* and *LOVE* are the highest priority."

    >Cyrus's coming out
Honestly, I dunno what's to like here. The scene is overly cheesy, and the character is yet another stereotypical effeminate quirky not-really-charismatic-or-goodlooking guy.
I've watched like over 150 [mostly 10+ year old] coming out stories in the last couple of weeks and 2 very common themes are:
    1) Like 90-95% of teenagers/young adults in those stories, including you, look/behave nothing like Cyrus. There are all kinds of guys: geeks, nerds (I was one hell of a nerd myself, shy, slim, unpopular), alphas/athletes, betas, "pretty boys", ordinary Joe's etc. But I don't think I've seen a single "Cyrus". They do exist, but they're an exception, not a rule.
    2) Lots of those guys struggled with this depiction of gay people in the media. "So this is what gays look like? But I'm a football player, I'm nothing like this, I don't want to be like this" which made them struggle with their sexuality and pushed them further back into the closet.
Now, one of my favourite depictions of a gay man is Jack Coleman's Steven Carrington from a TV show that was broadcasted in the 80ies (!!!). Not only was he drop dead gorgeous, but he was also a decent guy, athletic, relatively calm, reasonable etc. Now, this is a good role model. This is a cool, even flattering portrayal. The one that makes you feel better no matter if you're like him (a handsome athlete) or not like him (a nerdy unattractive unpopular boy like I was). 'cause even if you're not like him, you feel like you're in a good company, you also feel motivated to go to the gym and try to become like this person.
Pored mene (2015) movie which is openly available on youtube has 2 very interesting gay characters, even though "schoolboys" are played by 20+ y.o. actors.
Beautiful Thing, Get Real, Edge of Seventeen, Doing Time on Maple Drive, Consenting Adult (1985), Shelter and a bunch of others - imo, old school classics depicted gay teenagers / young adults so much better than all those Simons, Victors, Heartstoppers, Young Royals combined.
Some of them (like Doing Time on Maple Drive) also have great coming out scenes.
Idk, maybe it has something to do with my age (i'm only 31 though), but imo most of modern gay characters are a clear "downgrade".
And personally, I never wanted to see people such as my old self in movies, the one in the mirror was enough. It's the "better versions" that are not only pleasant to the eye, but also invigorating.
Anyway, this rant aside, I loved your coming out story and it's good to hear things overall went well for you. I wish you luck in your future endeavours!
