Exactly, Imperial IPAs are by far my favorite style of beer, and I’ve tried them all. 90 Minute IPA by Dogfish Head wins by a mile. 9%, great taste and aroma with a light-medium body, you can’t beat it.
Okay, so I just recently discovered Rated Red, and I have to say ... it's amazing. Alabama Boss, and all the hosts, do a great job - the channel is hilarious and random in a really good way. It actually makes me want to visit Alabama when I have the money.

I tried Ghost In The Machine for the first time after having covid, and all I could smell and taste was the hops and bitter! I cant smell coffee either, I hope it gets better!

IPA's are a bit of an acquired taste. They usually have twice the alcohol content of a mainstream beer. India Pale Ales were designed not to go bad (as quickly) during long distance sea voyages (they didn't have refrigerators on wooden sailing ships). They added fruit, spices and crafted with a higher alcohol content for higher preservation. Personally like a regular IPA but usually not the hazy one's. Can get crazy expensive and not big on the unfiltered flavor. Boss make a great point certain companies try to hard sell their beer with packaging & not a very good product. Would love to see the Alabama Boss start conquering beers in Europe. Start in Ireland (or Iceland..) and work his way East (England, Belgium, German & such). Some of the best beers in the world are from those countries.

You should try some Colorado beers. The crafts from here made me fall in love with beer. Hercules double IPA, Yeti, and technically coors is from here. Fruity beers, light beers, all from various inspirations. I think it’s something you’d enjoy, Boss.
Hey buddy I really like your straight forward reactions. You should try all of the beers that one brewery makes. Like Lager, Red Ale, IPA and whatnot. That would give a clearer picture of what that particular brewery is all about. I personally nominate Sweet Water Brewery. Start with 420 and build to the yellow can IPA. Sweetwater IPA is my go to case to take to the river.
IPA’s are my favorite but I can also do a domestic or Mexican lite beer. I love seeing the reactions to people that don’t like IPA’s like this lol. Totally funny. IPA’s aren’t for everyone but being an IPA fan I will never knock a person that can’t stand the taste. Great vid

I won't go buy one but I'll have one if someone else is buying. Stouts are okay. I love lagers. I love Mexican beers, too. I'm not big on Hazy IPAs. I'll try any beer once lol
I don't know that anyone likes IPAs at their first try. You have to learn to appreciate the bitter bite those hops are providing, it's kind of like heat in salsas and other hot sauces. Also, IPAs taste better if you let them warm up a bit. The ideal temperature about 45 degrees, and straight out of the fridge, it's at about 35 degrees. IPAs sweeten as they warm.
I didn’t like beer when I started drinking only margaritas and fruity stuff. I tried ipa’s and kinda liked them, the artwork is what pulled me in to try them and the higher abv over beer is a plus 😆

That's the good stuff, but impossible to find in the US. Most of the US craft brew German wheat beer doesn't taste anything like the actual wheat beer you can get in Germany.

Hazy IPAs probably shouldn't be the first hoppy beers for a beginner. And mosaic hops are just one of many different types of American hop varieties. Boss, I can see that these beers aren't your style. But what's garbage to you is more of a treasure trove to me and other enthusiasts, so just cause you don't have the palette for them doesn't mean you should discourage someone who is interested in trying something new. Anyways, you're fun to watch, keep up the videos. Maybe do a barbecue sauce comparison from the different barbecue styles of America (Texas, KC, Carolina, Memphis)

SMALLxTOWN OC IPA’s are not fruit flavored beers, lol. You’re a stupid fuck. These type of beers are brewed with an insane amount of hops which have subtle fruit flavors. This is in contrast to the Coors light and piss in a can you drink which has little no hops and all malts. What a wanker.
I’ve tried so hard to get into the IPAs and some are ok, but a lot are just shit. There is nothing wrong with a normal beer. I feel like some of these IPAs require a man-bun and loafers to enjoy them...lmao
Jeans and tee shirt guy here. Hazy ipas are my favorite. My father in law calls them fufu beers. A good double ipa at 9% and more hops in 16 oz than a case of busch light is fufu? Ok. 🙄 The truth is ipas are just too strong for most “real men.” Ironic, right?

You should try the mother of beers, sahti from Finland. :) Mens sahti is about 8% and womens 5%, then there's also light alcohol "work sahti" which is about 2-2.5% Because of the hundreds of years old yeast strain used in it, it has a very distinct banana kind flavor to it.
Yup! I live in North Park and it's Craft Beer heaven! I'd recommend the NP Beer Company, the Homebrewer, and Thorn St. Brewery if you haven't been yet.

I shared your opinions for years fellas. You have to start on more mild ipa's like fresh squeezed by breckenridge brewery or something similar. Finish a few sixers of that and it will help open you up to the world of ipa's.

Yup, only have had 2 or 3 hazy beers that I've liked. Gas station over here with a separate room that has hundreds of brews. Fill your own 6 pack set up there. Should try some from 4 peaks company.
Suggestion: (if you haven't already) Nortwest Microbrews. I would stand any Northwest brew up against any brew out there. IMHO the best beer in the world is brewed in here in the Pacific Northwest. Portland and Seattle have tons of breweries but the PNW is more than just those two cities. Out of the Seattle area comes Manny's and a brew I really like, called Mac and Jack's African Amber. Move out of the big cities and in Ellensburg WA you'll find Iron Horse Brewery. Their leading brew is Quilter's Irish Death. Yummy. Move south to Bend OR and Deschutes Brewery puts out Black Butte Porter, a strong but drinkable stout. Finally, here in Clarkston WA, (as far as you can get from Seattle and still remain in Washington) we have Riverport Brewing which brews up a local favorite, River Rat Red. This list doesn't come close to scratching the surface but hopefully it gives you some ideas. Thank God someone has told the truth about most craft IPA's they taste like sucking on a grapefruit that's been mauled by a skunk. Way to bitter, over-hopped and out of balance malt to hops. The supposed craft beer aficionados are all a bunch of hop-heads whose taste buds have been burned out by all the high alpha hops the Brewers jam into these beers. Once in a great while a decent IPA shows up but there's not one I can think of today that beats the original, Newark, NJ brewed Ballantine IPA. Malty, hoppy, oak-aged and absolutely delicious.
There's different classes of IPAs and tons of different hops to add at different points in the brew. You're not a fan of them but you also show that you lack any knowledge of craft brews. Stick to your Budweiser.

Nicholas Woodward I don't disagree. There are a couple modern IPA I like, Hopfish for instance is an excellent example but I prefer traditional British versions like Worthington White Shield and Fuller Bengal Lancer. Balance is the key and I think many Brewers, Stone for instance, have taking hop bitterness too far without balancing the malty character of the beer. Also I have an aversion to the heavy citrusy quality of many high alpha North American hops. I prefer the taste and aroma derived from traditional East Kent Goldings and Fuggle found in the Brit IPA.
SixOneCyx Yeah, it could just be the type of hops. I don't care for the citrusy, grapefruit astringency of many IPA but I don't dislike hoppy and bitter, it just needs to be balanced. My personal opinion is North American Brewers use ultra high alpha hops to keep the costs down and call the result an IPA. I prefer the old Brit standbys and I wish they would resurrect Ballantine!

I used to be a huge can of IPA but I'm just over working my Liver drinking 3-4 to expensive at concerts as Well for the same buzz I just stick to Corona Extra or Light Version.

You should have tried Smells Like A Safety Meeting IPA from Dark Horse Brewing in Michigan. Dunno if it is a " Hazy" IPA, but it is a potent IPA nonetheless.

Hazy IPAs probably shouldn't be the first hoppy beers for a beginner. And mosaic hops are just one of many different types of American hop varieties. Boss, I can see that these beers aren't your style. But what's garbage to you is more of a treasure trove to me and other enthusiasts, so just cause you don't have the palette for them doesn't mean you should discourage someone who is interested in trying something new.
Anyways, you're fun to watch, keep up the videos. Maybe do a barbecue sauce comparison from the different barbecue styles of America (Texas, KC, Carolina, Memphis)

SMALLxTOWN OC IPA’s are not fruit flavored beers, lol. You’re a stupid fuck. These type of beers are brewed with an insane amount of hops which have subtle fruit flavors. This is in contrast to the Coors light and piss in a can you drink which has little no hops and all malts. What a wanker.

I guess the comment came off as a bit arrogant. My apologies. Given the framing of the south vs. coastal states in media nowadays, it seems like we live in totally different worlds sometimes. But when you see a dude that is supposed to be different from you, grabbing a cold one and reacting to certain beers the same as you do, it's a refreshing reminder of how we are all the same. Mens sahti is about 8% and womens 5%, then there's also light alcohol "work sahti" which is about 2-2.5%

no one is putting fruit in the beer unless otherwise specified on the can/bottle. the fruit that he's referring to is the aroma/taste from the hops.
@@MattKeithley No a lot of IPAs are brewed with fruit. The fruit helps bring out the flavor of the hops & adds more of the fruit flavor to the beer.

I shared your opinions for years fellas. You have to start on more mild ipa's like fresh squeezed by breckenridge brewery or something similar. Finish a few sixers of that and it will help open you up to the world of ipa's.

Yup, only have had 2 or 3 hazy beers that I've liked. Gas station over here with a separate room that has hundreds of brews. Fill your own 6 pack set up there. Should try some from 4 peaks company.

Suggestion: (if you haven't already) Nortwest Microbrews. I would stand any Northwest brew up against any brew out there. IMHO the best beer in the world is brewed in here in the Pacific Northwest. Portland and Seattle have tons of breweries but the PNW is more than just those two cities. Out of the Seattle area comes Manny's and a brew I really like, called Mac and Jack's African Amber. Move out of the big cities and in Ellensburg WA you'll find Iron Horse Brewery. Their leading brew is Quilter's Irish Death. Yummy. Move south to Bend OR and Deschutes Brewery puts out Black Butte Porter, a strong but drinkable stout. Finally, here in Clarkston WA, (as far as you can get from Seattle and still remain in Washington) we have Riverport Brewing which brews up a local favorite, River Rat Red. This list doesn't come close to scratching the surface but hopefully it gives you some ideas. Links below:

Thank God someone has told the truth about most craft IPA's they taste like sucking on a grapefruit that's been mauled by a skunk. Way to bitter, over-hopped and out of balance malt to hops. The supposed craft beer aficionados are all a bunch of hop-heads whose taste buds have been burned out by all the high alpha hops the Brewers jam into these beers. Once in a great while a decent IPA shows up but there's not one I can think of today that beats the original, Newark, NJ brewed Ballantine IPA. Malty, hoppy, oak-aged and absolutely delicious.

There's different classes of IPAs and tons of different hops to add at different points in the brew. You're not a fan of them but you also show that you lack any knowledge of craft brews. Stick to your Budweiser.

There are a couple modern IPA I like, Hopfish for instance is an excellent example but I prefer traditional British versions like Worthington White Shield and Fuller Bengal Lancer. Balance is the key and I think many Brewers, Stone for instance, have taking hop bitterness too far without balancing the malty character of the beer. Also I have an aversion to the heavy citrusy quality of many high alpha North American hops. I prefer the taste and aroma derived from traditional East Kent Goldings and Fuggle found in the Brit IPA.
SixOneCyx Yeah, it could just be the type of hops. I don't care for the citrusy, grapefruit astringency of many IPA but I don't dislike hoppy and bitter, it just needs to be balanced. My personal opinion is North American Brewers use ultra high alpha hops to keep the costs down and call the result an IPA. I prefer the old Brit standbys and I wish they would resurrect Ballantine!

I like a lot of ipa brewed in Colorado such as high hops double ipa or boulder brewing co mojo ipa and due east ipa are all very good choices

I used to be a huge can of IPA but I'm just over working my Liver drinking 3-4 to expensive at concerts as Well for the same buzz I just stick to Corona Extra or Light Version.

You should have tried Smells Like A Safety Meeting IPA from Dark Horse Brewing in Michigan. Dunno if it is a " Hazy" IPA, but it is a potent IPA nonetheless.
