61Tbird damn talk about not giving credit where credit is due. Jim Koch could be consider one of the founding fathers of the craft beer revolution. Sam Adams still produces some pretty good beers considering it's 3 million barrel a year out put. That still way less than Anheuser-Busch at 50 mil in just the U.S. Don't forget how it all started.

Mendocino Brewing started in 1983 which was 2 years before Sam Adams.

You want to talk first then lets say New Albion Brewery. But I'm talking about people who changed the game and held part in the paving the road of craft beer as we see it today. You talk as if Jim Koch did nothing for craft beer. You sound like a beer snob and don't give credit where credit is due. And as far as Sam Adams goes its far from gutter swill. That would be putting it with the likes of BMC. Do I buy it? No. For the price they charge for it I would rather go for a higher quality brewery. Ive been gravitating towards Laguintas as of late. Respect Beer dude.
This doesn't even taste like beer. Its like an extremely smooth bourbon with a bit of maple syrup taste. It was fantastic I had a bottle of the 2014 at a wedding. I would never pay for it but it was fucking fantastic If you get a chance to try this beer without spending the full 200 bucks I highly advice you do. It tastes a little like wine like he said, its thick and it actually sticks to the glass. Its like a heavy port wine but with a strong wood flavor like a bourbon.
Then spend the 200 on a damn good whiskey.
I tasted it for New years Eve in 2017. I thought it was disgusting, but then again, I've retired from drinking alcohol and just took a swig for the experience.
If I wanted bourbon I'd go buy a bottle of wild turkey 101 and have 177 dollars left in my pocket.
Hard part is finding a bottle, when it does come out you have to put in your name for a random draw just to be able to buy a bottle. At least at Wegmans in Northern Virginia

I guess you made a point with the beer bong. I'll be damned if I can figure out what that point is. In the late 1990's, Sam Adams made a limited edition beer that came in blue 7 oz. bottles with cork stoppers at over $15 each. (I said all that because I can't remember the name of it.) The beer was a dark, rich amber color and tasted like a really good sherry. I loved it. I drank many a bottle of that stuff, but I sipped it, I never (NEVER) chugged it. So, h*ll yeah, I'd try a bottle of the "Utopias." I would probably love it, too.
I've had it before, it really does change if you try the same bottle over the course of time. Very unique flavored "beer". Loved watching Alabama Boss drink and beer bong this. I'm not offended by it at all 👍

This video didn't make me want to buy the beer, it just made me want to find someone making homemade wine.
You can make your own. Buy some juice free from preservatives (no potassium sorbate or sulfite), get a 2 dollar airlock and plug thing online, get some wine yeast, or ale yeast. Nottingham or safale 05 is good ale yeast. Get some cane sugar. Mix a cup of the sugar into the juice, throw.your yeast in there, throw your stopper in, fill your airlock with vodka, throw.that in, let it sit for a few weeks. Give it a try or age it. So easy, you spend less than 20 bucks and have equipment to make gallons of wine for the price of juice.
Ive got an 11 percent apple wine fermenting now as well as a mead. Very easy.
