Almost every AV Receiver review or sale I see talks about "Ground" terminal. You will notice the "Ground" terminal is always next to "Phono" input and NOT near AC Power input. Why? The "Ground" is not meant for AC Ground, which is connected through the third pin of AC plug "Earth". The "Ground" terminal next to "Phono" input is to connect Photo Record Player's Ground to Amplifier Phono Ground. If these two "Ground" are not connected to each other, there will be a 50Hz hum noise picked up by the Amplifier. The "Ground" of Phono has NOTHING TO DO with electric shock of the metal body.
