Nice video lads. Great skills, fine scenery, good chat. The fish didnae play baw so much but thats fishing. Keep posting and doing your thing your way.
Nice video again gents. Some great sport for you Gordon. I feel your pain though Alex thats normally my luck when im out with my fishing buddy. Your smiling on the outside but crying on the inside really lol. 😊 Shame no video for Holland trip was looking forward to it.
Brill video . I changed to Braid last year bhoys to fish at distance ! The mid double pike jumped and hit the braid and it sliced badly . Unsure if I'll use braid again 😢 Looked a brilliant venue !
Thanks guys for another excellent video. It's a favourite water for myself and my late father in law. As for the negative comments, IYKTYK. No names were mentioned ever. The guys didn't reveal or ruin anything. I have been fortunate to fish that water for 25 years, the old boy closer to 50. Research in the past few years told me there was pike fishing there. Honest, Alex and Gordon are doing their best not to give much away to the "secret mob". Just honest filming. Please just enjoy
Only joking Gordon - wouldn't want you to be any different - you both come across as great characters. Been watching some of your others - really good 👌Tight lines - Mark (southern softie 😉)
Alex you said yourself in the video you were taking the head of the bait as it was too big for the trebles…..maybe another inch longer for that top treble and you might not miss as many fish…..and hopefully get rid of that frustration!, Good video again lads .👍
@ worth a try buddy to hopefully get rid of that frustration and have a far better session. I noticed your muckers voodoo traces looked that bit longer apart and his hook up rate was better. Hopefully see you smiling in the next video….tight lines.👍🎣🐊
Have to agree here. You set the base treble very high in the tail and then your second treble isnt covering enough of the remainder of the fish. Either reduce bait size or increase your trace length between trebles. Additionally change out hooks for new ones or get the sharpener out. Tight lines
Hi guys, I enjoy your videos... i enjoy the banter bertween ye two as well. You don't use an uptrace when float ledgering? I don't want to sound critical. I boat fish a good bit and use uptraces just in case the pike may pick up the braid in it's mouth after picking up the deadbait. I can see where bank anglers moving to boat fishing fish without the uptrace. In bankfishing the braid lies on the deck. However when float ledgering the braid runs vertically from the lead weight to the float. Just something to think about. Some very nice perch there too! 👍
Yeah mate, I was thinking that on the day. Just couldn't be arsed making a new one. I prefer them fairly close, but when the fish are as finiky as that, they could do with being wider spaced. With my recent history, it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference though.
Are you guys using Mark Houghton’s floats? My PB in weight (we do not normally weigh pike over here) is a 31 pound pike, also caught on a dead roach underneath a float. I doubt I will ever beat that but you never know … keep on sharing this beautiful content. I like it very much so thank you
I know their rules say strike as soon as you see an indication, but in reality that's a sure fire way to miss a lot of pike. They need time to turn the bait and actually take it. Maybe turn off the cameras and give the next ones a bit more time before striking, to avoid getting in trouble! 😂 And the 4" bait rule... smaller baits would work much better.
What does a person holding a camera have to do with anything? the ability of the other person to strike as and when he feels it right, is in no way affected by the other person holding a camera or giving him a round of applause. Some folk have even said we gave it to long. Just goes to show that there is alot of opinions out there, which everyone is entitled to.
@@angling360 I think you mis-understood him. I don't think it was a dig. The 'trouble' would come from giving the fish more time and not striking straight away. If it's not on camera, no one will know, therefore we won't get into trouble. Apologies Dan, we seem to be bit defensive at the minute.
@alexallanangling 100%, not a dig, just give them plenty time but don't film it to give folk a chance to moan about it! 😂 I often wait and wait when I get a bite. Let it swim off, wait till it stops to reposition the bait and THEN wind in. I don't strike. Just apply force while slowly winding in. Of 60+ pike in 2024, 0 have been too deeply hooked to unhook quickly. Yous know who I am, not some rando PAAS or keyboard warrior 😃
what a great time of year pike season upon us and new esox diaries. Great video as always gents
Well done guys, look forward to the pike videos

@angling360 absolute pleasure
Only just found your channel - really glad I have - very enjoyable chaps. I could do with a translator for Gordon sometimes though 😅

100%. I said in another comment, that I did think this on the day. Better selection of traces next time.

Mon guys hide the back ground
As I said above, it's a controlled trout fishery. If you do recognise it, then you know how to go about booking it and most probably a decent angler.
@@angling360 Elite angler, surely!
@alexallanangling no that took me a long time to do. Count less hours but alwas worth it
Great video guys but please lose the treble hooks, or at the very least use barbless ones
Another water ruined thanks lads 😢
How can a controlled trout fishery, and promoted by PAAS, be ruined?
@@angling360 Probably a member of PAAS. Why is Pike fishing, in particular, infested by absolute numpties?
Because Pike thrive on neglect..... Why do you feel like its your place to plaster swims all over socials?
@jenwilson8386 I'm sure the fishery management know what they are doing, and control bookings.
@@jenwilson8386 Why do you feel you are more entitled to this water than anyone else?
