- March 2023, and the winter Pike fishing season is coming to an end. The winter hasn’t exactly been kind on the Pike front but, to be honest, this is mainly down to spending the majority of the time targeting and catching big Grayling.
We’ve had a few fish, but nothing anywhere near our 25lbs target. Nevertheless, the last few sessions eventually deliver some better fish, and we end the season with a 22 and a 26.
Almost exactly 12 months on, and we’re pretty much in the exact same position.
Can the last few sessions of the 23/24 winter Piking deliver that big fish that, yet again, has eluded us. If not, then at least let us finish in a flurry of action.

My winters pike fishing has turned me to chase trout this year. Doing decent on the Clyde so far for my first year properly targeting them. Cracking video as always fellas, tight lines & mon the pike 🏴🎣👏

Brilliant video seems a load of anglers struggled last winter where as a few others didn't.
Well guys I went out last night having never used the dropshot before after watching your videos I had an absolute cracking night with instant hits from perch cheers for the tips.

Loved it had many days where Jack's were all that you could catch a wee trick I used was to put a sleeper bait on a small purple balloon float don't know why but it could pull the bigger fish not always almost all of my over 20s came this way great show again boyes till next time cheers❤
Hi Gordon & Alex, you have had a tough pike season but it`s great that you say it as it is, I've haven't had a season this year, ( long story) but looking forward to October this year to start my pike season, over the last 10 years the big girls have been getting less and less, my theory is that a lot of waters have a increase of carp and that has upset the balance but that`s just me and I could be talking bollox, all the best, Les.
Good to see you guys get some sport and fish to finish off the season. I had to laugh at Alex face on the way back in on the boat at end mentith section. That face rounds up my winter pike season 😂
Think that face was more the fact Scotland got a seeing to at the rugby.
Another cracking vid both totally enjoyed all of them nothing massive for me this season 12 and a half being the biggest but I only blanked one session so I'm happy onto the carp and tench for me now 🎣👊💯💪

Thanks guys…Not exactly going out with a bang but definitely made up for a tough season …knowledge gained for next season and remember deep into winter most folk are sitting for one run its never really action packed but can all change in seconds just keep the faith a bit more and try fish spots more frequently rather than jump around. V similar season to ourselves over her in n.ireland..lots of pike but 16 lb biggest...but some nice vids from yous boys helps ...all we can do is try ehhh..maybe nxt year...time for the tench for me.😊
