    The Neptune range are meant to be a synthetic squirrel so you're right in your assessment there - personally I like these better than hake brushes for the big washes because I found the hake brush I had tended to shed hairs terribly, and these don't. I'd definitely be interested to see what you turned this background into!

    I just discovered the Neptune wash brush a few days ago when I did a large abstract I couldn't believe how marvelous it felt to use it. Just amazing for washes/ blending. It had been sitting around for about a year unused. It is a beautiful brush now in my favorites.

    Lovely wash. It would make a great moody moorland scene with that lowering sky. Beautiful. 😊

    I love it. You should develop it into a full-blown painting ( masterpiece) 😊
    As it looks now it reminds me of a few scenes from the movie "Interstellar "

    Beautiful washes! Do you notice a difference between the 1.5” Agua Elite va the 2” Neptune, other than the size? Can’t wait to see what you do with this fabulous wash.

    I would like to see how you develop the painting, thank you. It's also really interesting seeing comparisons of art supplies like this, and as you did with the different Payne's grey

    Look like nice brushes, reminiscent of the earlier hake brushes Ron Ranson used in his books with the metal ferrule. I have tried all sorts of brushes, even brushes from the hardware store. Did you notice any shedding with the neptune?

    • @LoisDavidsonArt
      @LoisDavidsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's lovely Joe and no shedding, I've been really pushing the Princeton aqua elite hard for almost a year now, and it is still perfect, so I'd imagine this one will stand the test of time too. I still love the hakes, I just am moving away from using animal hair brushes

      Thanks for the reply. We have had a few in the groups that have asked for non-animal alternatives. I'm open to using any of the large brushes. I think I would probably gravitate to the 1.5 inch brush. I'll have to try them.

    Is this a brand new size? I can only find 1"and 1 1/2" listed on Jacksons website. Any idea where I can find the 2" ?

      I'm afraid not, this was a birthday gift! that apparently came from Amazon, so may be worth a look there!

    What happened to your hake brushes?

      They have worn out, and I prefer to paint with synthetic brushes these days

    3 times the price of a hake brush that I’m yet to try out. Caring about animal products being used is expensive
