The message of the song is so good, knowing how much he struggled and how his love for his parents motivated him towards this goal. Like, he's an amazing performer, very genuine act. I didn't think I would cry so much watching his performance.
Same, I tear up even before the outro actually starts because the story behind the song makes me so emotional. And Joost's song "Florida 2009" is the only song that makes me cry without fail every time I listen to it.

Joost Klein already won. His journey through life was to make it to the Eurovision Songfestival. As a little kid, he said to his dad, he could make it. He did. Unfortunately, his dad and mom died when Joost was 12 and 13.

Sadly he has been disqualified for nothing. Read the statement of the Dutch broadcaster. The organisation knew after this performance that Joost Klein wouod win Eurovision amd they had to prevent this at all cost. Shame and disgraceful. 😢

I think he brings something to the stage that was lost to a lot of previous Dutch contestants: Dutch culture. The way he shows off a Dutch sub culture that speaks to many is great.

Yesterday and today we consulted extensively with the EBU and proposed several solutions. Nevertheless, the EBU has still decided to disqualify Joost Klein. AVROTROS finds the penalty very heavy and disproportionate. We stand for good manners -let there be no misunderstanding about that- but in our view, an exclusion order is not proportional to this incident.
