Another incredible adventure. You get to visit such amazing places. You are so lucky. The scenery & views are breathtaking. Thanks for letting us tag along & have a wonderful day
New to the channel, great foreshadowing from your production crew 😂poor Matt took a tumble but thankful that the RIP Matt sign wasn't an omen after all!😱so cool that you all took this creation to a "magical" level with the vibrant under water scenery; Shark's Cove for the win! Fun POV driving clip with the tunnel and the light rain. Lovely scenery from the viewpoint with the crater in the background. Totally agree with the outro thoughts about it being so urban and it seemed way overbuilt, during some of your panning footage it just showed skyscrapers practically on top of one another; feel sorry for the natural habitat! Thank you for taking us on such a nice tour🌟👍🏽
Welcome to the channel and thanks for taking the time to watch and your thoughtful comment! 😊 That RIP message was so ironic. We’re seriously still in disbelief that was there! Shark’s Cove didn’t disappoint! So glad we were able to capture some of the beautiful sights. The urban landscape definitely felt out of place, but luckily skyscrapers aren’t the norm in Hawaii! Hopefully it continues to be that way.
Laniakea Beach looks beautiful, oh no Matt took quite a fall! Glad he's okay. That almost took you both down. Snorkeling looks sooo beautiful! The water is so clear. Love your underwater footage of the fish, that really is so magical as they are circling around! Valley of the Temples looks stunning. Wow, Pearl Harbor. Downtown Honolulu looks so beautiful! Fantastic video as always Matt & Rachel :)
The day could’ve taken a turn for the worst if he hit his head, but luckily we made it off the beach relatively unscathed. And of course the camera started recording once he was already on the ground. Haha We were really happy with how the underwater shots turned out at Shark’s Cove. Definitely some of the best we captured yet! Thanks so much for watching and your kind comment. 😊
Hey guys, sorry about Matts fall!! Pearl Harbor was such a somber place. I agree with you, oahu was our least favorite as well, my personal favorite was Kawaii, then Maui, Big Island, and last Oahu. We did the touristy stuff on Oahu like the Dole Plantation 😃 great video guys, hope your doing well!
Glad we aren’t alone! We feel bad picking favorites, but Oahu wasn’t the island for us. Kauai is tied for our top. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Hoping to get some new stuff out here soon. ☺️
Hay Rachel Matt really enjoyed this episode Pearl harbour especially would be a great visit for my dad and I Aside though the hill hike was great and those snorkel dives 🙌🙌 Had to smile when you mentioned the gecko 🦎 we used to find them all over the place in the Philippines (both alive and ☠️ ) Best regards and safe travels Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Thanks so much for watching! Pearl Harbor is a must stop when on Oahu for many people. We had a lot of little gecko roommates during our time in Hawaii. They were all over!
at the 9:23 mark where you see the 'aloha from waikiki' signage, this building is where the original Hard Rock Waikiki was located. Now the restaurant is located more into the heart of the Waikiki district of Honolulu. At the 9:27 mark, this recently commissioned mural show the 2020 Olympic (done summer of 2021 due to covid) Gold Medal Winner (in surfing) of local born and raised Carissa Moore (part Hawaiian) and the 1912 Olympic Gold Medal Winner (in swimming) legend of modern day surfing, 'Duke' Kahanamoku. The areas on the side of Tantalus Drive and the park you are going to are commonly referred to as 'Tantalus Lookout'. at 11:21 mark is the Governors Mansion (which is directly across from the huge State Capitol building. Some governors and their family elect to stay and live there during the term while a few (like the present governor Josh Green, who is a present emergency room physician on the Big Island) lives with his wife in a in high rise condo on the same street (So. Beretania St) but a couple of blocks down (where the Pacific Honda car dealership is located on the ground floor). My gosh, you guys even went to the Mission Homes of Hawaii (which show how the original missionaries to Hawaii lived in the original built homes/structures) and the grounds of the Kawaiahao Church (where Hawaiian Royalty went to church service and even today, part of the church service is spoken in the true Hawaiian language) where RARELY anyone shows on YT ! The large concrete State building was built in the 1960s and took occupancy in early 1969 as I remember that event in time. How the State Capitol looks was influenced by the architects who took Hawaii and its location into consideration. (Quote) Unlike other state capitols modeled after the United States Capitol, the Hawaii State Capitol's distinct architectural features symbolize various natural aspects of Hawaii. Among them: The building is surrounded by a reflecting pool, symbolizing the Pacific Ocean. The two legislative chambers are cone-shaped, symbolizing volcanoes that formed the Hawaiian Islands. The columns around the perimeter of the building have shapes resembling royal palm trees. There are eight columns in four rows at either side of the building, representing the eight main islands of Hawaii; sets of eight items appear in other places inside and along the outside of the building. The Capitol is built with an open-air design, allowing sun, wind, and rain to enter; the central atrium opens to the sky and rainbows can sometimes be seen inside the building when it rains. Four kukui nut trees (Hawaii's state tree) are a numerical reference to the four main counties in the State of Hawaii and the four major Hawaiian gods (Kukailimoku, Kane, Lono, and Kanaloa).[2] Sets of four items appear in many other places in the building. When standing in the center of the structure, the chandeliers from both legislative chambers, which represent the sun and moon, can be seen through the glass walls, while the area that is normally reserved for a rotunda in most capitol buildings is left open to the sky. It is said that the sky is Hawaii's capitol dome. (end quote) at the 12:58 mark, the building directly in back of the Kamehameha the Great statue (which by the way was sculpted on the mainland but the ship sank near the western/northern tip of the Big Island, thus when that original sculpture was recovered and placed nearby in the town of Hawi, they had already commissioned the sculptor to build another one for the capital city of Honolulu. Anyway, that building in back of the statue is where the State of Hawaii Supreme Court convenes, and the upper/right front corner of the building has always been shown as Hawaii 5-0's (version 2 series2010) headquarters. Of course, the inner office scenes come from the film studio facilities near Diamond Head. Across the street, the 1968 original series with Jack Lord, the 5-0 headquarters were shown as that of the upstairs front corner of Iolani Palace. The term '5-0' has become quite famous as people know it as street language for 'the cops'. It also represents '50' as the 50th state within the USA back in August 1959.
You are a wealth of knowledge! Sounds like we really could’ve used you as a tour guide. Thanks so much for all the additional information on what makes these spots special. We love learning all about the history! We especially loved the area where the Mission Homes were and Tantalus Lookout.
Great tour of Oahu and Honolulu! Totally agree, parking there is terrible! I remember us seeing a nice beach we wanted to check out but couldn't even find a spot to park so had to move on...oh no that fall Matt took looked painful 😣 We definitely need to return to Oahu someday because we were also unable to see everything we wanted. But first Kauai 🤩
Parking was one of the main downfalls. All our different parking fees added up to a small fortune. You won’t be disappointed with Kauai! It’s one of our favorites. 👍
I love how Rachel goes for the gear after Matt's fall and almost gets instant karma for not helping him up! Candice would also go check on the camera first. I have a constant fear and falling and dropping our equipment, it hasn't happened yet but I know it will. Why in the world would y'all snorkel at Shark's Cove?! Seems like asking for trouble, although it seems pretty shallow for a shark. Loved this episode y'all! Hope you both have a wonderful day - Andrew, Candice, & Riley 🐾
Not my best wife moment. 😂 After I saw he was okay and getting up on his own, I figured he could handle himself from there. Don’t want to jinx it, but I feel like dropping equipment is inevitable. Especially if you’re clumsy like us. Haha The name definitely raised some flags for us. I think people do see some sharks there but the small friendly ones. If we did see a shark, I’d be out of there real quick. Thanks for watching guys! - Rachel
FYI...Laniakea has Always been rocky. Turtles come to rest on the sand & feed on the seaweed-covered rocks. If you look close enough, rocks/reef are covered w/various species of seaweed...colors, textures, tastes & lengths. Much the same as humans have different taste preferences....
Another incredible adventure. You get to visit such amazing places. You are so lucky. The scenery & views are breathtaking. Thanks for letting us tag along & have a wonderful day
We try to visit as many places as we can. Hawaii was a great adventure, but looking forward to the next. 😊 Thanks so much for watching!

Shark's Cove so named coz of sharp rocks akin to sharks teeth, nothing to do w/sharks
Nice adventure, friend.
Thank you!! ❤️

That’s so neat! Such a great place for a turtle feast then. 🐢
Laniakea=Lah-nee-ah-kay-ah=Immense heaven/Wide horizon
That’s really cool that’s what the beach’s name stands for. We had no idea!
