- I enjoy studying the bible and try to read the bible routinely. Here is how I study the bible and how to enjoy reading the bible. I use these bible study tips with my bible study group, and it's helpful to know how to study your bible. I don't drink coffee, but I do enjoy bible time when I can really dive into the word of God.

Trudi Ann I have also been struggling lately with my faith! I have been struggling with not being knowledgable about the Bible because I didn’t grow up around Christians or learning anything about that stuff. I just became a Christian within the last two years and I’ve been having to learn from scratch. Which is ironic, because I am now a Theology major. While I’m learning a lot, a lot of the “basic” stuff gets skipped over because everyone around me knows the basics because of how they were raised. But I don’t know that stuff! So I have been struggling with knowing if I am following my right calling, and also trying to educate myself correctly. So grateful for this video!

Hey... I hope you don't mind but I saw your comment about struggling with the basics. Which I totally understand too, i personally found this brochure helpful as an intro to the basics. www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&pub=fg&srcid=share you can use your own bible along with it at the same time as it really helps to explain somethings. There are more books on that website but I found this was a good intro to the bible, I know others who didn't grow up Christian have thought the same.

3. Why did they write the book?
4. What was going on during the writing of the book, and how does it relate now?
More questions for after:
1. What does this say about God?
2. What does this say about God's people?
3. What does this say about our relationship with God?
4. What do i learn about my relationships with others, how do I apply this?

So refreshing to see someone of the younger generation really grasping the correct way to read the Word. My father was a pastor/theologian and it always drove him nuts when someone would take some scripture and use it for themselves in a way it wasn't meant to be used. Now a days it’s definitely a lot harder being a christian teen, especially in my school. I get criticized for my belief a lot where I live, and sometimes it makes me forget what I stand for. Finding your channel has definitely been a reality check for me to keep going, believe in my faithful, and read the bible😊

It's so encouraging to see people on TH-cam using the platform to boldly proclaim the word of God! God is truly working through you xxxx maybe this can encourage me to have more confidence to represent my faith through my actions more at school, to live distinctly as a Christian and hopefully use that to spread the word with God working in me. I was raised a Catholic but I've always identified as an atheist so I never went through the process of studying the bible. I watched this video because I really wanted to gain a different perspective on how religion, Christianity in particular helps people to understand the world around them and live their best life. I found it so interesting and while I'm not sure I believe the stories or completely agree with some of the teachings, I think the core values of your religion are so admirable and beautiful. I have a bible that has a study guideline in the back, and that helps to keep me on track. Each night I read one chapter.
I feel that I should take time, (no matter how short or long) for God. It’s easy for us to ask God for blessings, and for him to do something in our lives, but a lot of us don’t call out to him unless we need something.
I did this for many years, and fell far from the path I should have been on, and because he still loved me and accepted me back, its important for me to not only be appreciative by reading the word, but I read as a reminder that his love and salvation is not worth the sins of this world.

I was meant to do some bible studying and got distracted by TH-cam... but then this video popped up, ended up following along in my own bible. And now I feel motivated to go study... throughout this week I'm reading 1 Corinthians 4-6 and then reading chapter 60 of a book called Jesus the way. It's a great book as it makes you dig deeper into the scriptures to really get the most out of it. I loved the questions you ask yourself. I've took note of them to try during my study now.

Sometimes you don’t want to do it, even if you know in your heart that it’s so good for you. I’ve been feeling that struggle with opening up my Bible lately, but the benefits after reading and learning something new about Jesus are always so awesome.
Tip: Underline important verses, go back to it and see how the context might change due to your personal position. Jesus might have taken you to that verse for a reason ❤
Not trying to be critical, but the context of verses doesn't change. However, since the word of God is living, we may have different takeaway on the verse due to new personal experience.

I haven't been subscribed for a long time but I love you and your videos. I think that by sharing your faith with others you are positively impacting them. One thing that helps me read the Bible is to stop thinking about it as a history textbook and more like and book about past and present I GET to read. I also find it REALLY helpful to watch the Bible project videoS over the book I’m about to read. They give a really great overview for all the book so you won’t be as lost while you’re reading.

I am not religious in any way, but my great grandmother used to only read the bible. She's not dead but as I can no longer talk to her like we used to I feel like reading this would bring me closer to her. So, thank you for making this video.
I am currently dreading reading my Bible because I have to do it for school and it just adds so much stress to something that should be personal, daily event. I have lost motivation to read it and I can't stand that I lost motivation to spend time with God. Thank you for this! Just what I needed!!

Joyce Meyer said something that hit me like a bucket of cold water “when you realize it’s a necessity like the air you breath you run to that alone time” I have learned it’s because with him all things are possible but without him we are just blind lost and fighting a strong current.

I really like the reasoning you gave for reading the bible as a spiritual discipline. You are 'so right' about reading the new testament (gospels) first as a way to create that spiritual discipline before you start tackling the old testament.
I'd recommend The Bible Project (TH-cam channel) to help with making the old testament more enjoyable. But once you start understanding the old testament, what you read again in the New Testament is going to just 'pop' with new insights ☺️

I started in the New Testament when I first started reading. Once I got the hang of it I started from the beginning. Getting a study guide can help as well. I love researching the history of the time as well. Thank you for the tips.

hi Maya, I watched this video a few weeks ago and just wanted to say thank you for making this! Your suggested study questions before and after reading the Bible have really helped me get deeper into scripture and apply something written thousands of years ago to life as we know it today! So good. I'm currently reading from Deuteronomy--I've read quotes here and there but have never read the full book straight-through. I'm learning so much and it's truly impacting my time with God. I agree with reading the books in their entirety with the exception of Psalms , as it’s not a story , it’s a collection of songs. So a tip is to read one chapter of psalms along with your bible reading for the day. Ex. If I’m reading 3 chaps of Genesis, add one chapter of Psalms!

I tried to read the Bible and started with Genesis. I felt really bad when I got to a point where I didn't want to read it anymore because it got boring, but hearing that you recognise that has made me feel much better about it...
