I'm not sure it's as clear cut as that, but I have to say the Bacci guitars aren't very appealing at least not to me anyway, but I'm sure some people will like them @@timstapleman
Matteo has staggering technical skill but this fast noodly stuff is good for one thing, getting you a room full of dudes staring back at you. I would take a Gilmour or Knopfler over him any day. This obsession with speed has set guitar far back from keyboard in popular music. The human brain is just not set up to connect with this. I wont remember a thing he played after I leave this page. I can hum Sultans Of Swing though.
Interesting viewpoint. I happen to love Gilmour! Your point about the music being memorable is well taken. But Matteo definitely became memorable after seeing him playing “cause we’ve Ended as Lovers”
I am a massive proponent of the "shredding is boring" ideology, and a massive fan of gilmour and knopfler, and yet would take Matteo over another one of them any day. He doesn't just noodle quickly: his solos are incredibly musical and I for one will be humming licks from this for days. This is not to say he's better than either of the greats you've mentioned, just that we've had enough people playing boomer bends and the pentatonic scale. Are you much of a jazz listener? I think this stuff appeals much more to jazz fans than fans of what electric guitar is usually used for.@@jhrdrake7205
This is not just entertainment or merely a 'performance'. This is the pinnacle of creative collaboration and collective expesssion. A pleasure to witness the pure joy shown by such gifted musicians. Respect 🫡
All 3 are absolute otherworldly. Seen them live and got blown away at every song. Matteo is wonderful but the rhythm section, oh god it's tight and groovy just as we love it❤
This is Funky. There is a difference here. The Funk was first established, then expanded. Too many players have technique down, but don’t understand what is Funk? How to first introduce the Funk to the audience’s ear. It’s done correctly here. Great job guys.
I think the first time I heard this song, it was Maynard Ferguson's version...nice to hear a guitar take of it, especially from Matteo Mancuso...thanks for posting this, and hope you and yours are doing great!
@@PlanetRockJesus It was a small booth at NAMM, so there was only a little space around their performance space but there we thousands walking past in the aisles behind me
What a drummer 😮
Who's this man? He plays the sticks as he's left-handed, while playing the pedals as right-handed. All with a terrific inventive power
Right? The bassist is badass too. Best tri on Earth.
His name isGianluca Pellerito@@jacopomarafini
@@danielelise7348 thanks a lot 😘

This year’s NAMM has been the Mateo Mancuso show
Yep
Looking forward to checking him out at his performance in Sacramento tomorrow (Friday) night.
Not so fast. The sales numbers will tell the real story. If he doesn't sell guitars, then all his fancy tricks will have served no purpose.

I understand why Matteo gets all the glory (I'm a huge fan) but come on... His band mates deserve lots of praise too. Well done tutti!
Seems they prefer not to support him by playing in the pocket. But they sound okay.
@@electric8668 I think they're just having fun....
@@electric8668 I’m not sure you know what that means
@@RockyTop85 I don't hear a pocket consistent enough to support what he's doing. But maybe you don't know what that means 🤔
Interesting enough... I discovered Matteo Mancuso because I was following Gianluca Pellerito, his drummer. Saw him live... what a beast 😮.
My favourite part of this was how everyone listened to and interacted with each other. I love to see musicians be passionate about what they do.
honestly they look like three brothers that grew up playing together
100%. Early 1990s live Phish is the best example I've heard of what you're saying, so if that kind of thing gets you going, definitely check them out
The bassist and drummer understood the assignment
Yes, they are in the same video that went viral years ago. They have all been playing together for many years now.
@@TheOriginalArchie what video were they in years ago?

Trust me, we Matteo fans do not overlook the talents of his bandmates. They're all amazing.
Want to know about them.
They play like they are from another planet and just smile at each other. Maybe they are?
gianluca pellerito, riccardo oliva and matteo mancuso… it’s beautiful to see the recognition and attention they receive now… it’s fully deserved!
My GOD!!! Mateo and his band mates are the pinnacle of excellence and mastery!
They look related!
