What do you think the reason Corey is not playing the exact Sunny? I'm surprised if he didn't know the song, he should know Sunny but it looks like Matteo is trying to teach it to him. I haven't carefully checked this but if you are right it seems like Corey realized it was similar to "I just want you to Stay" so he just played that. Maybe he had all those eyes and didn't want to risk screwing up. Another theory is he decided to play "I just want you to Stay" to see what Matteo would do, knowing he's an improviser and would be able to adapt easily to the variation ( maybe a combination of both theories)

I love when incredibly technical, is being surpassed but the pure beautiful musical melodies and sound. I'm so glad that the influence of there being almost no guitars on all the hit tracks today, has no baring on the fact that there are SO many amazing young players!

Both super talented guitarists, experts at their craft. Cory has been commercially successful to some degree with Wulfpeck and his own band and brought big band funk to the forefront again. Matteo is a bedroom legend admired by guitar geeks like us. Neither probably changes the history of guitar or music like Eddie or Wes M, but they are fun to watch!

I actually think Mateo could. He's showed that you can accomplish with the fingers on electric guitar even more than a plectrum. I think we're going to see WAY more players going to fingers like this in the next few years.

Umm he is just hitting major exposure in the last six months as far as I can tell and especially now with stuff like this. Never seen what he just did especially with the way he picks with his right hand and he looks so effortless doing it. He’s going to hit big here quickly if he keeps this up. Eddie did definitely change the tone of guitar too along with his technique and so did Hendrix, I don’t know Wes M so I guess I’ll have to look into him and find out. Matteo is going to change a lot though

@@paysongeorge7080 cmon dude. Just because you're being hyperbolic does not meet the criteria . To insinuate he is God-like? Oh he's the new kid in town.. And he's good at it. But until he can show he can compose a decent song, he's banking on skill. This means only dudes will like him and go see him play at small clubs, His world would be drastically different if he could write a song people can sing the solo too. Just like EVH.. Then the sky is the limit. Not this fusion nonsense. That is masturbatory. Who is their audience? The three of them? No wonder they can't write. And i can't stand the music but John Mayer is a perfect example of someone who uses a melodic line as a motif. For instrumental music, motifs are necessary. But EVH did it all, and SO did Randy Rhoads. He was a classical guitarist himself for years And a lot of what Mancuso is doing by fusing classical and rock.

They don't care who likes it. So vain of you to think they're writing it for your enjoyment. This is for them. They like it. They feel it. They are a vessel for this music. As a musician, you write songs for you, and if people enjoy it and CARE to listen, great. But if what the musician hears and feels in their head garners an audience, great. But it's a personal journey, not for anyone else

@@stevenbahr9547 If you are expressing yourself for free, than that's up to the artist. But bro if you are selling your art, it's a service. It may be therapuetic for you so it's mutually beneficial. It IS for them. It's called a gift. And this has nothing to do with Mancuso. He'll get it when he writes a song that people will remember. You on the other hand, probably play by yourself for yourself like someone masturbating. And that's what you guys like. Wankery, "Shred",.. etc. My friend, Mancuso is NO different than shredders in the 80's other than he fantastically plays it finger style. But guess what? it's derivative. Write a song that can connect to the human condition whether it's you own or someone else. Because THAT is how you gain an audience. By a song. Not a million fusion or jazz notes at an insane speed. To me? That's just skill. And that's only half of the job. And dude needs to hang his hoodie up. My God. So weird.

@@stevenbahr9547THEY DONT CARE? Dont feed me that nonsense. Everyone in the music industry needs validation and then see dollars. Hey man if you’re into fusion or just metal that lacks a hook, a story, a melody, taking someone to another place with your creativity. You can’t do that if you’re playing a million notes a minute. We’ve been here before. Every 80s guitarist had to play like Eddie Van Halen. And many of them were just as skilled as Mateo. But many of them faded in obscurity because shredding is masturbattory because you are doing it for your own ego.

Their album sales aren’t crazy, but what is the appeal is the hours put in practice wise from these two. Add the talented part of their brains they’ve unlocked and that’s why I’m attracted to this. Every great music or musician YOU admire was inspired by someone even more outstanding than them. They dumbed it down so average folks like you can appreciate it and go buy it.
Stop. Reread that again. Go look up your favorite artist. You’ll see it’s true.
