  • In this video I show you the pond aerator that I installed in my 1/2 acre pond. It has made a huge difference in the water quality in my pond. I highly recommend installing an aerator in your pond. It is the foundation to all healthy ponds. It will surprise you how much I paid for it. Stick around and find out! Thanks for watching!
    I will leave affiliated links below. If you use them it won't cost you more but it will give me a commission and help me grow this channel! Thanks!

      @@TripleTAcres I was browsing your channel and saw that! Very best option, luckily I put in a cheap storage box from Costco for my 220V irrigation project last year and crammed it all to one side so I have a sheltered spot ready to go. All the best with your pond and thanks again!

    good stuff thanks for your work in putting this together! I had a DIY system I built in 1996 using a continuous duty graphics art pump, it was 10x the hassle and 5x the cost back then, just ordered this kit, love the diffusion especially

    You are certainly on the right path with air and dye. That 'silencer' you mention is actually the air filter. The outer end of that cap is threaded and you can open it to replace the filter. Lookin good!

    Hi Mike, I see from an earlier post that after a couple month's all is going well with your aerator. I was reading many unfavorable Amazon reviews. I really like the system & of coures the price but would like to hear back from you & followers that your still happy with it. Appreciate your review & content. Thank you.

    There are air pumps that are crazy expensive even more than a water pump for a pond. Crazy.

      No problem. I hope it helped. I researched a lot and all I could find was pumps that were so expensive. This one was in the reasonable range and it’s been working flawlessly.

    Hello there from Ontario Canada! We followed your awesome video and got our pond all set up today. We built a housing box out of a plastic bin with a small ventilation fan and air vents, all of it just like yours, but we noticed it is so hot inside there! The air hose is super hot as is the pump itself. Do you find yours is really hot?

    • @TripleTAcres
      @TripleTAcres  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! It should be pretty warm but not really hot. Mine was really hot until I installed the cooling fan. Maybe your fan isn’t moving enough air? Do you have the fan sucking cool air in and blowing across the top of the pump or do you have the fan sucking hot air and blowing it out. I’m not sure if it makes a difference but I have my fan sucking the air in and blowing it through. If you put your hand in front of your vents, does it feel like good air flow?

    • @jodynorth2983
      @jodynorth2983 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your fast reply! Our 3" fan is sucking air in and blowing it across. We can feel hot air blowing out the other side. Even the air hose is crazy hot. Maybe we will try a bigger fan or even drill some venting holes near the top of the sides of the bin.

    Nice video. Just curious as to how big your pond is. I have a 1/4 acre pond and wonder if I should buy the 3/4 hp unit with two diffusers or just stick with a single 1/2 hp. Your pond looks great by the way!

    • @TripleTAcres
      @TripleTAcres  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for you kind words! My pond is 1/2 acre and this is more than enough. I would just make sure it’s in the deepest part of the pond for maximum effectiveness. My algae issues have significantly improved and my fish appear to be more active.

    What about a year-round pump for a big pond. To suck the water on a concrete structure .

    • @nighthiker8872
      @nighthiker8872 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But a floating aeration would work. something solid.

    • @TripleTAcres
      @TripleTAcres  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you talking about a fountain? A fountain is better than nothing, but it is no match to a subsurface aerator. Subsurface aerators move way more water and brake water stratification. They also add more dissolved oxygen in the water.

    My diffuser is 16 years old. It is a diffuser stone and not the type of diffuser sold with that pump. I wonder if that could be it there is no blockage in the hose. The pond is aerating but the relief valve just vents all the time. 0:19

    Great video! Im looking to buy one after watching but our property is lakefront that gets alot of algae and a mucky bottom and only 2-3 foot water depth, wondering if u think this unit would be OK? Oh and we don’t have power to propety, think I could run this off marine batteries? Any insight b great.. Thanks

    • @TripleTAcres
      @TripleTAcres  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Let me try and answer your question. There are a lot of variables to consider. How big is the lake? If it’s larger, your one aerator won’t make that much difference. That depth is pretty shallow too. The bubbles won’t travel very far to move that much water and create a current. An aeration system works best when it’s sized right for the body of water, there is beneficial bacteria present, and knowing what is feeding the body of water for fertilization. There is way more to it than just that, and contacting your local pond specialist would be able to go more into detail about what specific needs you have. As far as your power source. You for sure could use a deep cycle battery. You would also need to add a solar panel, a solar charge controller to regulate the power flow, and an inverter to convert the DC energy to AC energy. I hope this helps. Sorry if I didn’t completely answer your question. Thanks for watching and good luck!

      @@TripleTAcres Thanks for the quick reply..great info. It’s a 3acre bay but we wanna keep the algae n muck away as much as possible. Was thinking a fountain but came across ur video n now contemplating both. Inverter into AC great idea w solar. Yeah it’s pretty shallow. Finishing up 50’+ dock today n then deciding between bubbles or fountain. Thanks again
