Thanks for sharing Andrew, your channel is so informative and I've built two kite foil boards following your steps.

I NEVER knew that XPS Foam COULD be FIBERGLASSED!..

Best way for figuring how much resin you need is to weigh the fiberglass, and measure out the same amount of resin by weight. Note that the resin to hardner ratio may be a bit different if you measure by weight.

I've seen several videos of epoxy directly on xps and how epoxy melts the xps. Are you using a special kind of epoxy or how did you prevent the epoxy from eating the foam away?

      epoxy resin shouldn't burn.
      polyester resin will.
same with the other common one.
      forget the name now.
      polyurethane.
those two will dissolve the xps.
      epoxy is cool with everyone.
      real chill resin.

I just found these videos. Would this method be strong enough for building a swim platform for a boat?

Great job Andrew, one question; when you remove the cut line you make to coat the top, how do you do to not cut into the existing fiberglass, thanks again enjoying this videos.

Hi sir, compliments from switzerland for this extraordinary work. I'd like to ask you what kind of glass fiber foil glue you use to attach it to the xps filament? Could I attach E-glas Faser Twill 0,16 MM 160g/m2 foil with your recommended glue?
    Best Regards

How much does it cost for all the materials to do a board?

How come you didn't make the shape symmetrical on both sides? Especially noticable on the tail

i wonder why there wasnt used peelply , since it minimizes the sanding afterwards, and a good deal of airpockets in both ends, it will be weakpoints in the long run

Love the Video series on how to make a surfboard. Actually inspired me to get out there and give it a try. Just wonderign where you get the resin research epoxy from?
I am from southern Ontario, it seems as if you are from canada as well. Is there a big issue with getting the resin across the border? I've been looking at purchasing some system three SB112 or pro-set epoxy from composites Canada (in toronto) to hopefully alleviate the headache at the border. Would that be a wise decision, or would i be better off to just get the resin research?
