It definitely depends on how tall you are! Remy Metailler and Jackson Goldstone typically use no mod but hyper view and they are able to get plenty of bike in because their shorter
I thought you might of got a 360 with those funky angles whippy things in your narra video haha. With the 9:16 setting, does the camera still sit horizontal?
@@MTBMcPhee oh sweet :) Yep domed lenses are the devil, you've got to be soooooo careful with them. On the upside, it takes a lot of scratches before you can actually see them clearly in the footage.. you should see my 11's lens after I filmed a shot of my welding from about six or eight inches away....... The native landscape shot is pretty sick, I think you MIGHT be able to get a similar result on an 11 by shooting in 4:3 and cropping/squeezing later (I'll try at Cooma this weekend), but it's a lot more work... being able to do that in-camera ALMOST convinced me to make an otherwise unnecessary upgrade 🤣
8:26 I notice the distortion 9:07 same here. 9:26 Definitely looks steeper I agree, but still distorted. 11:13 To me all of these have too much distortion. You sohuld test L+ mode, I guess that's Linear + extra linear, nobody has shown this yet, only in the menu, so I know it exists, L (Linear), also Linear moder for MaxLens Mod 2 ( in new latest firmware), I've only seen this showcased in one video so far, and it wasn't MTB video just a person in an alley. Would be nice to see how that compares, as I hate distortion in riding vids, I have a no distortion ens on Hero 7 Black, so my footage looks much better when it comes to representation of the trail, but quality wise it doesn't. But I want the better image quality and bitrate of Hero 12. And blacks look really good on it. If the lens correction is good enough then I will buy it for sure.
That landscape shot is nifty, but I don’t see the value otherwise. Although I do hate how the GoPro turns straight trees into bananas, but I only really pay attention when there is no riding.

Yeah that's a good point. Remy uses hyperview which has been greatly improved with more recent firmwares (and on the GoPro 13) too.

Yes its still on the normal mount which is a huge plus
And let’s not mention the Narra video 😂
Yeah ok, I like the sound of the camera still being horizontal!
Battery one has exited the chat
Good to see the side-by-sides, thanks man 👌
Want me to 3d print a lens cap?
It comes with one. I didn’t realise I needed it for basic transport

Nice edit dude - were you a hand model in a previous life?
Definitely not!
I was just about to pull the trigger on one but the scratches has put me off, I'm not the easiest on my cameras.
I'll report back in a few months, see how we go!
Hmm, that low-light performance is too bad. I guess the lens aperture is not as wide.
What if you add ride wrap to the maz lens?
That could prevent scratches if you could get it to fit without affecting the footage
Where did you mount your camera
3:20
@@MTBMcPheeok but which way do you mount in upside down or up
@@Ashton_Shields_POV it’s upright on the half lid
Pov you got a gopro hero 12 with max mod 2.0 had a crash and fully scratched it😢 the crash is on my youtube🎉
I somehow scratched mine between my house and getting to the trail. Can’t imagine it would handle a crash well!
I think you could probably sneeze on the lense and it’d scratch
