What size traps are you using for coyote and bobcat??? They look a little small. Also did you boil and dye or wax the traps to get rid of the human and metal smells? I’ve caught more bobcats with a pie pan hanging in a tree than anything else. Cats are curious.

Not sure if this has been said yet so apologies if it has. First off the trap that was pulled up and set off was most likely a deer. Also try putting a can or golf ball over the dog proofs or the rain will ruin your bait and it serves as eye appeal. Trapper J and growing deer tv would be good channels to watch for trapping tips. Great wing shooting Houston!

My dad taught me fur trapping at a young age (what he did for a living). He also really taught me how to waterfowl hunt which is honestly my favorite form of hunting. I think it is amazing you are teaching Houston these things.

ATTENTION DANIEL : Please teach Houston to always hold that shotgun barrel upwards over his shoulder & never carry it downward. Because I noticed in your pasture going to your creek at the gate Houston had the barrel almost touching the ground. Here’s a true story U can share with him why to never ever carry it downward !!! When I was 13-14 years old my neighbor and my best friend the same age, we was hunting some quail That always would be in coveys below my parents garden in the bottom edge of pasture near the woods. So we walked across my mom & dads garden that had just been plowed over and had heaps of dirt in rows that was rolled over. My friend/neighbor was walking to my right and slightly in front of me and we walked over the garden and down the hill to the broom sage to flush those birds. A covey of quail flew up and we both slung up to shoot and as we shot his 20 gauge single barrel Harrington and Richardson Topper model, The barrel literally exploded 💥!!! He had accidentally jabbed his barrel down in that red clay dirt in our garden unbeknownst to him and it put a 3 inch Red Clay dirt plug in the end of his barrel. When he shot at a quail it peeled that barrel backwards in 4 pieces that looked exactly like a banana 🍌 peel. Needless to say the 7.5 ounce bird shot came backwards on us. It peppered his face and mine & pierced one of his ears. We was both looking at each other with bloody faces after the explosion 💥 in disbelief as we felt it and our faces became wet quickly. It was only by the grace of God none of the shot hit our eyes 👀 or went thru our skulls! Our foreheads cheeks & necks both had embedded bird shot just under the skin & he pierced let earlobe. So scared to death we ran to my house quickly and my Mom picked the shot out of us and washed our faces with peroxide and man that stung like crazy. We was very lucky not be be blinded. But thats what can and will happen if Houston jabs that barrel into some mud and don’t know it and shoots that shotgun!!!! Trust me i was there, been there seen it happen and was peppered good because of it. So please by all means share this story with him. My friends dad took my friends once 26 inch shot gun to our local gunsmith for him to fix it. The gunsmith is long been deceased but he done a wonderful job at sawing off the banana 🍌 peeled barrel and reinstalled a ball site on the end of the barrel. My friend now still to this day still has that shotgun & he’s almost 60 Years old. But instead of him being a proud owner of a vintage Harrington and Richardson Topper Model 26” barrel 20 gauge.... He’s the Proud owner of a 21 inch barrel 20 gauge! We still laugh about that but we both could’ve been blinded or worse! 😂
He & myself included never carried another gun facing downward again when we went hunting anymore after that, for very good reason & lesson learned. Just thought I’d share that story with ya for a safety reminder. 😉👍🏼

This was a great video. Good to see some new content with Huston. I love all your content. Let me say those coyote traps are kind of junk. I believe in what your doing and I know that it's making your land a better environment for the animals that benefit you. Coyotes, bobcats, raccoons can all be a little dangerous. Your going to dispatch them anyways so you should use a more aggressive trap. I know people will complain and talk trash but who cares. This is a part of the circle of life. Those people are the ones who would of died first 150 years ago. Good luck on all the new endeavors and God bless

@ArmsFamilyHomestead Hello Daniel and Houston and family, yuns probably know this already. But i thought i would go ahead and recommend to tie a big white feather above your trap set for bobcats or something very "SHINY" on a limb above or very near your trap set okay? 🤔 it gets their attention they come to check it out. Also Christmas decoration bulbs or the ice cycle strands above the set in tree to catch theur eye attention-getting or an Old CD DVD 💿 Tied on a string on limb just above knee to waist high so it blows catches sunlight reflects anything attention-getting okay 👍

For our Victorian, Australia Duck hunters 2024 may be sad as it seems our state government is succuming to pressure to czncel having any duck hunting season. 2023 already was a significantly shortened season. Several other states already banned Duck Season several years ago.
Protesters have for far more than last two decades fought to have duck hunting banned, no hunting season at all.
There have been exremely dad killing of many other water fowl and duck varieties banned from hunting. Too many unwanted bird injuries and deaths due to poor bird identification and gun happy ignorant shooters firing at anything moving. Even instances of hunter to hunter injuries, which of course get hunters in legal problems, and banned from gun ownership.

Just make sure that if you catch a skunk, do NOT dispatch it with a headshot! Use a vitals shot. In my experience, 99% of the time a headshot makes it spray, while a vitals shot usually doesn’t. Not sure the reason, but that’s just my personal experience.

Welcome back and Happy New Year just watched your new video for the. I noticed you all have new traps? A friend of mine started trapping when he around 11 up until about 55 we got a little to old and the trapping market was not profitable. One of his tricks was his new traps he would gather up walnut some with old skin still on and boil them in it. It'll turn your traps black and get read of the new smell. Use latex gloves I made the mistake took a couple of weeks for it to wear off!!

Daniel make sure y’all don’t use your trap setting gloves when baiting a set! Get another pair of gloves for baiting, it’s very important to do this so you don’t contaminate your traps with bait/lure scent! If you contaminate your trap it’ll get dug up every time! Also don’t use such tall backing, all you need is a small tuft of grass for backing. Good luck trapping fur!

Hey Men.... It's good to see you Dan and Houston . I've been viewing your show for at least 5 years. I really enjoy your channel. Besides the ducks you were hunting I saw something else fly across the screen at 23:25. The object that flew in from the left hand corner came almost center than exited right hand corner. It may be another bird white in color. My first thoughts it could be the international space station . It flys across the screen quickly. My eyesight isn't the best so check it out let me know what you think. Thanks ..... Scott

Nice catches, but I’m sorry I had to scroll past Houston shooting the raccoons. I am thrilled Houston is learning to hunt & trap, though. Great job, Daniel!

Enjoy your trapping , while we are feeding scraps to the ones around our house, enjoy watching them eat, they knock on the glass if we don't have something already out. They love old doughnuts , marshmallows, old grapes.

When your bobcat trapping you usually want to trap further back round 8-12 inches back and guide them in with sticks or some sort of cover (Cubby set) I love yalls Channel and have been watchin for bout 8 years now. I have some MB 550’s to and I love em. Keep up the great work!!

I really thankful Daniel that you fully explained the working of that task. Seeing your hand in it made me feel better about what you all are doing. I’ve never seen humane trapping. What do you do when you catch a live coyote/animal? Do you shoot it where lays or what

Good video, with no trap circle or hair, the miss was probably a deer. Probably set right where the poop was. And collected what poop you didn’t immediately use for another set. Good luck and tight chains

I'm glad you have meat for your freezer. All I ever learned was to fish. Dad wasn't a hunter, but my oldest son is. I wish we lived closer to each other so we could get some, but actually, I think I live closer to you.
