- Welcome back, today we are looking at a 2 story triple wide modular home found at Clayton Homes, in Raleigh North Carolina. This home comes in over 5000 sq ft when you add in the upstairs. you have 3500 sq ft down stairs. 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. This home has a hallway like never seen before in a modular. When inside this home you would never know it was a modular home. Everything in this home looks and feels like a site built home.

$385k with less than builder grade fixtures is insane. I love the layout, but those buyers got robbed with the quality. Oh and 1999 called they want their ceiling texture back 🙃

Hello Nate! Wow!! What a place!
#1) Let's start by saying the upstairs would be used as a GYM on one end. The rest would be made into a second story for my Library Office Room, which would start in what you called the Living Room when you started the tour. A half bath would be installed between the two sections upstairs. A stairway lift would need to be installed as well, since I can't climb.
#2) I'd close off what's called the Living room area on main floor, and make it into my main floor Library Office Room with a sitting area with a gas fireplace. The room you called an office next to it would be my Music Studio Room, and would need to be soundproofed.
#3) Our Living Room would then be the area on the other side of the kitchen, the room with the French doors, you called it a den, where the stairs are. We'd need a gas fireplace in there somewhere too. I like it that there are actually two coat closets, one on each side. You can use either door as the front door.
#4) I like having the Dining Room in the middle, as well as the Kitchen in the middle too. I'm not a fan of the kitchen sink being in the island, but it's the best place for it in this floorplan it looks like. But the microwave would need to be moved to the corner counter, to the left of the cook stove. I think the cook stove was gas, if not that's what I'd want. I Love the Pantry!
#5) In the Master Bedroom - I love it that there are 2 Closets and they are Not in the bathroom! In the Master Bathroom the only thing I'd need to change is to replace the tub (a pity ready as it looks very nice) with a Handicapped tub. The commode area looks great - roomy enough for even me! I'd probably never close the door on it though as I'm slightly claustrophobic. Might be easier if I just had a pocket door. Maybe. I actually love the shower area - it has a bench and a door! And it's not open.
#6) The utility room is nice. And you are right, there's space for 2 upright freezer units or a chest freezer. We have a chest freezer, but my sister has an upright one and I like it too. I'm not sure which I like best. There would of course be a garage built at that outside door in the utility room. I'd build a storage unit in the garage too - you can't have too much storage as far as I'm concerned (I don't like throwing things away if I think it can be fixed, even if we never get around to fixing it!).
#7) We'd have porches or decks all around the house to the garage. Some enclosed and some just covered. Carpets in the Library sitting area and in the Living Room and the Bedrooms only.

Great floor plan, I would put the dining room where the den area would be and leave that whole first area as a living room 😀 with muti sitting areas, an really large dining beyond that! I definitely would make it a multi generational home and put a couple of bedrooms and another bathroom on the second level (one on either side) and a den type area in the middle, I can see the children and grandchildren gathered for holidays 😀 my mind is swirling with ideas!! Thanks for the tour and the info at the end, im sure when it is finally available in 2024-25 it will be closer to 500,000...but gorgeous 😍
I agree on every point! I can definitely see the upstairs as a place for my elder daughter and her sons, a room for my youngest daughter on the main floor as well as a room to spare for when my son isn't traveling. The big office room would be perfect for our work needs. Then put it on a basement and it would be perfection!

I love this home, would change a few thing but not much. In kitchen the title going all the way up the wall. Pantry I would put wood shelves and some of the other rooms. The one room would be my office, that would be so nice. By the way Nate, you look good in brown also.

What a house! It would be so fun to live in this. Absolutely love how it wraps around the kitchen, the huge open spaces, the master bedroom and bathroom are SWEET and yes, a huge game room upstairs and in-law suite that could be rented out to college kids or single professionals. The options are endless!

Considering the size of this home and amount of bedrooms that water heater was kinda on the small side. In The laundry room I'd check to see if the water heater could be put in there since there is more than enough room but preferably might want to look into a on demand water heater then place in the laundry room. Make the space where it currently is another closet.

If I were to find a modular home I love, would I be able to request having one of the windows be made into a door? I need an office for clients but don't like strangers in my home
Just to give some perspective to people, the upstairs is the size of a double wide.
Honestly these are very nice but they are a bit overpriced but still very nice
Can they put a ramp at all the doors to the outside?
I'm sure you could add ramps if needed.
A waterfall feature immediately popped into my mind with the inset/nook in wall as you enter. Not impressed with kitchen cabinets. I will continue later.

This is a Clayton home and was in North Carloina, I don't have the name of the home. This one may or may not be back in production. It was put on temporary pause durring rona so they could get the smaller homes out that were on back log.
Went to their site seems this is something they dont build anymore..
When I filmed this it was discontinued temporarily. I talked with the Clayton guys when I was the Biloxi show and it sounds like it won't come back.

Kitchen is just blah to me. Really don't like dark cabinets. Reminds me of an apartment kitchen just there is the boring island.
