Yeah oke, the rebuild is beautiful, except for the worn out engine (the most important issue): because this would be the same as like taking a cracked frame from the scrapyard and further on build up your bike with broken parts except for a brand new engine you're about to build-in into this corrupt metal structure from the trashyard with all of these broken parts fixed on to it........
Have the same bike, been sitting in storage for years, gotta drive it halfway across the US but I’m about to put a lot of work into that baby, loved that bike, most playful and fun bike to ride
Maybe it's an idea to put a little amount of this acid in your gastank in case you have to run in a new piston, and so preventing an inminent and sudden stuck of your engine 125cc (the acid will take {in gradual stages} little by little the aluminium off of your aluminium piston, and, after a while you can be sure of your engine will run like a exceptionally smooth and lubricated sewing machine, no stress and problems from that time on......).
"run ur gas fatter" "you didn't run it through enough heat cycles" "wrong piston" "it's a Yamaha"..........y'all ever just think that shit happens sometimes. everyone is a mechanic on here I swear hahaha
Aaron Colton 3 weeks ago "Hey Luke, That was actually not the case for the seizure. I blue my exhaust systems on all of my bikes with a heating and oiling process." From a couple comments up.
He wasn't, he was using Wiseco. Note the W on the piston and the drilled lubrication holes that you only see pre-done on forged pistons (namuras are cast). I was thinking the same thing until I saw that it was a wiseco, namura's are garbage!
Fuel oke, but if he forget's to put some oil in it, at the end he will stuck up this worthless piston, and then fanally won't make it, left alone win!.
Fr3ShPRiNC3 ehh, wouodnt take him 20 minutes to rebuild that whole top end. Plus those bikes dont really need a "break in" period like a 250 or a 4 stroke.
Fr3ShPRiNC3 depends. I only do heat cycles on a full engine rebuild. Top end i let it run like 5 minutes idle with a rip or two in between and mines lasted for about 2 months.
HybridEdits lmao 2 months isn't good , you probably wore your rings down from improperly breaking it in . Do multiple heat cycles and cruise around in the bike going through the gears but not high rpms , do this a few times then change the plug and rip
Being born and raised in Minnesota I laugh when I hear people say it's cold in California when there's a blizzard going on and I'm busy rebuild in my bike watching this at the same time haha
Will, fmf does not make a pipe that has that much discoloring near the cylinder. It will be blue near the welds, where it was super hot, but not that much closest to the cylinder
The factory fatty FMF will have discoloration just like that because of its raw finish. I have one and it does that even running fat. I wouldn't expect much more than wrong info from a quadtard
Iv'e had bikes too buddy. The factory fatty doesn't have that much discoloration. Iv'e seen plenty but nothing like that. Also, no need to try and be a badass over a computer screen. Al Petty
I like the video, but you had to rebuild whole top end first time, not just the piston, it blews up cause cylinder is damaged, it is oval, you can't see that without instruments. I had same problem. Heat goes on piston rings and they overheat. Also, when whole top end rebuilded, you need to drive slowly 1-2 tanks with 50:1 fuel mix depends on motorcycle, after that, just a crazy two stroke raww!!!! like a bee. Nice rebuild by the way, thanks! :-D
50:1 is for environmentalists that want to make your engine seize up, I go with 3% because it doesnt give any power to give the engine less oil, its the opposite and its not a problem to clean the engine every once in a while :) Give it 35:1 and make your bike happy. And it cant be "oval" if you can see the honing marks, if you dont see them and hone it many times then yes it will be oval :D
I had a rm125 bored over to .167. Spent 500 bucks on a rebuild. My friend and I get done pitting it back together. He tells me to start it. I do. He says move....and pins it for 3 mins straight off the rev limiter. ...he tell me: okay it's broken in. I had the bike 3 more years and never needed a rebuild
Do a ttr 125 something cheap for those who can't afford a new bike but there parents can afford some like a favor to those and parents thank for the clip bud
what's up with the blurring of the "sending it" decals on the side shrouds, in some of the shots and not others. Mostly blurred in part 1 of this build. Great vids, BTW
You didn’t clean it out thoroughly, and hone it, and put enough oil on the actually cylinder wall before reassembled it. So the you didn’t get a proper break in, too much friction. Cool bike Man, you ride pretty good for not being a Mx rider
Is there not {asking this cuestion to myself}, a 50 cc boxermotorcrossbike available, or at hand on the market today? (this would be a 2-cinder boxermotor, 25cc each piston) maybe it's faster, more horsepower and more stable and less friction because of lack of parts, i mean: if on mid-run, one piston suddenly get stucked into the cilinder-wall (too less oil for example in the gasoline, mistake diesel instead of gas, a leaking air_filter, or some character or early bird before the contest, putted some suger into your gastank), you always will have left the other cilinder at your disposal, that can do the job, and even eventually win the run on this heavy, rainy, and slippery track.....
This man in his scrupulosity to win the race at all cost, milled off 65% of the original aluminium piston's weight to create extra flush ports to run himself into victory on his rebuild motorbike, but with to say 'reverse results', i mean the result of this brutal sudden lock up of his crossbike's engine 125cc piston.. (after toprebuilding his engine in mid-race, and putting a brand new piston into the scratched cilinderwall, unfortunatelly to make things worse, he didn' t notice that the pitman had taken the full impact of this enormous piston's sudden lock up, and in fact had been deformed into at least 20 degrees from it's original dead straight shape...., but after somehow managing to fix the new piston on to the pitman then shoving it with this 'impossible botch-up' into the heavily battered cilinder full of invisible crazings, he persistantly went on with his blown-up top end rebuild Yamaha engine, trying finally to achieve the championship of the tournament on this muddy quagmire...).
the guy racing the 80's Honda is a fuckng G
Just gotta love that he just rebuilded the top end on the track xD
Rebuilt*
What's so great about that? It's a very common occurrence.
That’s Yamaha for you
It’s XD
Yeah oke, the rebuild is beautiful, except for the worn out engine (the most important issue): because this would be the same as like taking a cracked frame from the scrapyard and further on build up your bike with broken parts except for a brand new engine you're about to build-in into this corrupt metal structure from the trashyard with all of these broken parts fixed on to it........
Redbull we need more of this guy on a 2 stroke! Make it happen!
Have the same bike, been sitting in storage for years, gotta drive it halfway across the US but I’m about to put a lot of work into that baby, loved that bike, most playful and fun bike to ride
4:13 the guy with the hat has spark plugs in his ears? Lol
Tijn Koops 😂
hahahaha
Yup
Those are hearing aids you muppet
Corrado VanAken Studios o they are not
ya i love how he doesnt even break it in and expects it not to blow up
Brings back memories .
How the hell u save that cylinder. Thing looked clapped
eh idk myself lmao
By possitive thinking...

@MotoRider125 uhh i think that once you have fucked up a nikasil plated cylinder its pretty much over if you dont want to get it replated
loved the whole project!!! great work guys!
needed to break in the engine before racing it lol
Aaron's Yamaha YZ125 is the best! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
4:13. What the hell is up with home boys pants
Never mind the spark plugs in his ears
Those pants at 4:11 :D
Happy belated birthday
It looked like u had a blast
"run ur gas fatter" "you didn't run it through enough heat cycles" "wrong piston" "it's a Yamaha"..........y'all ever just think that shit happens sometimes. everyone is a mechanic on here I swear hahaha
Deadass
big facts lmfao
I'm not a mechanic, but most probably this man buying this 125cc crossmotorbike, had to cope with a piston from an other brand, not Yamaha...
never heard or seen this guy before but what a talent.youre a guy i want to have around at the track 2 great vids
Your running lean, your pipe should never have that colour to it, and I noticed when u started it the bike didn't smoke at all
LCP1988 agree
Aaron Colton 3 weeks ago
"Hey Luke, That was actually not the case for the seizure. I blue my exhaust systems on all of my bikes with a heating and oiling process." From a couple comments up.
LCP1988 www.motosport.com/fmf-factory-fatty-pipe Here's a link to this style of pipe.
Ah my apologies man I thought she was just running hot
LCP1988 maybe he used the smokeless oil idk
thats the gnarliest helmet ive seen in awhile!!
That helmet is fugly
Impressed! Raced in the cold rain and slop! Premadonna's would have used the blown top ta stop! Bravo brother!
Are you using Namura pistons? if you are that's why she blew up haha. still an awesome video!
same thing I was thinking hahaha
Could be a wiesco they make a piston with that coating on it and looks just like a namura.
Too much lead in the alloy? (i ask myself).
He wasn't, he was using Wiseco. Note the W on the piston and the drilled lubrication holes that you only see pre-done on forged pistons (namuras are cast). I was thinking the same thing until I saw that it was a wiseco, namura's are garbage!
That bike looks AMAZING I wish I could have something like that as a 2nd bike :)
This videos for everyone who thinks 2 strokes are dying
This just goes to show that if you have money, you can do anything
Great little series. Do it again!
I wish you used a black Clarke tank to match everything perfect ! Still looks great
Richer fuel one step, no more seize up
Less accelerate but wide open good to the end
Fuel oke, but if he forget's to put some oil in it, at the end he will stuck up this worthless piston, and then fanally won't make it, left alone win!.
great stuff love the yz125 sounds good!
That track was a mess after the rain and looked like so much fun!
That 125 would look Bae in my garage
You need a project 321 gass cap they are so cool and are tuffer then nails
Man awesome bike I wish I could get my hands on it !!
Best yz125 videos
I love this! It would be even better if I could afford a bike like these! Amazing video. Making me dream about bikes
Lol revs the piss out of it right after rebuild
Fr3ShPRiNC3 ehh, wouodnt take him 20 minutes to rebuild that whole top end. Plus those bikes dont really need a "break in" period like a 250 or a 4 stroke.
HybridEdits true on the rebuild but they definitely need heat cycles to be broken in . I have 2 125's
Fr3ShPRiNC3 well i ride hard as shit so 2 months is pretty decent for me.
No break in process just straight into the next race
are you guys going to go any more in depth with the build, or was it just all new bearings, fmf pipe boyson covers and decals and plastics lol
Why was the sponsor sending it blurred out for most of the series
Mitchell Greig USPS logo with no rights for usage
That turtle onesie was on point.
🐢
Rafael is always down for a good party.
Being born and raised in Minnesota I laugh when I hear people say it's cold in California when there's a blizzard going on and I'm busy rebuild in my bike watching this at the same time haha
Dom956 i
That mud is when it gets fun..
Did he have another spare barrel, if not what did he do to the scored barrel to get it race ready again?
TS50ER it looks like he just used a Dremel
No, not at all, only a bunch of piston, selected from the local scrapeyard..
He put the restyled plastics beside the front fender, the most common restyled plastic
It looks like an amazing adventure. To buy a craigslist bike, rebuild it and race, and rebulid again on the track.
I miss the days when the track sounded like a swarm of bees! now its all lunky 4 strokers.. :(
James Scott kids these days I'll tell ya...
yeah stuff four strokes thats my opinion
and also when the supercross had huge puffs of smoke at the pot of the building
thing is, 4 strokes take a beating and keep on ticking.
All these four stroke pussys
Good job happy birthday
the reason the thing blew up is cause you used a namura piston... A NAMURA PISTON. who does that to a bike that clean?!?!?
Should have used a vertex piston
It's a wiseco
Lol I used a Namura piston once.. Worst thing I have ever done to a bike..
I do not think that is the case. I have never heard of a Namura piston before. Let along had my hands on one.
Aaron Colton My bad then, could have sworn it had the Namura marking on the piston. Great bike by the way!
the old front fender looks good with the new rear end.
i like snickers ...I thought so to
Happy birthday
NICE 125 2BROKE!
First time watching this... and never comment on these but... that was cool bud
That is one clean bike
good job
6:50 is that a Anneke beerten?
livin' the dream
Dude sounds like he's 45 looks 18
Look how discolored that pipe is, you blew it because it's lean.
no, it's because it's titanium
Will, fmf does not make a pipe that has that much discoloring near the cylinder. It will be blue near the welds, where it was super hot, but not that much closest to the cylinder

When u change piston u gotta have least 4% mixture in the tank. Otherwise the bike will lock up.
Nice stuff
My 1995 yz125 is a one kick bike as well
Is there ever going to be a part 3?
No
Part 3 is the washing in part 1
3:57 intents racing I know the owners and the company. I use to work for them
Can you get me moto boots
Are you looking to sell the bike?
Is that race basically just a fun race and not competitive
running lean gotta have a puff of smoke when you blast it.
You have a brembo front master cylinder on your front brake for some reason.
I had a rm125 bored over to .167. Spent 500 bucks on a rebuild. My friend and I get done pitting it back together. He tells me to start it. I do. is it just me or does this dude make bad line choices
bjorn wisman considering he comes from road racing he’s done pretty good.
I don't actually think his a pro mx racer think he is a stunt rider
I don't know, putting a brand new piston into a worn out and scratched cilinder..
That was really a day in the fucking DIIRT
man I miss my yz 125!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Day in the mud
Do a ttr 125 something cheap for those who can't afford a new bike but there parents can afford some like a favor to those and parents thank for the clip bud
this was closer to a receipt than a build
what's up with the blurring of the "sending it" decals on the side shrouds, in some of the shots and not others. Mostly blurred in part 1 of this build. Great vids, BTW
I bet he put the piston in backwards the first time and it hit the exhaust ports.
Have you heard yourself?
I bet he forgot to put the two bearings into the cranc ax....and even the third bearing that fixes the piston..
I mean I know he rides street bikes but I was expecting him to be a little bit fast lol
You know: it's not easy to win the race with a scratched cilinder and a cheap piston made from scrap...
@@josevanrooy im talking about his technique not the bike
@Aiden Bowley motocross is an art form there is no type of riding that requires more technique watch some videos...
Hey where did u get that old motocross helmet in the beginning
thehungryOMNOM probably got a paint job from tld but idk where he got it
Why is the USPS logo on the shrouds blurred out on some shots?
Still questioning the old style front fender

@@iluvmx1977: Thank you very much my friend...

did you put a numura in the first time? probably why you lost the first one. wiseco or no go!
How would it have blown up that quick?
nice yz. ttr are fun two.
Steve Studley to not two
The_tech kid , too not to.... I'm trolling hard
He probably should of gotten a yz250 2 stroke or yz250x 2 stroke
Has the new plastics but not front fender
Nice
Is that gear 2017? Right now I'm rocking 2016.5 Fly Racing gear.
Yea no compression kicks no time on rebuild smart just smart
surely it seized because he hadn't run it in?? anyone can confirm this
Are those Oakley air brakes?
455 South Africa!
5 second break in time😂😂
Part 3 pls ;D
0:38 does the back tire turning when on a stand mean the clutch has an issue?
No completely normal
I wonder what the guy he bought it from would think
