Like others have said, you can't keep letting co-part get away with it, it's not the first time it's happened to you (or others). You've got enough visibility with the channel now that you can get them to play ball. The more people hold them accountable the more (hopefully) they'll sort their sh*t out.
Bought one from them as a running and driving car, running was all correct but not sure can say was driving with one wheel pointing wherever the hell it wanted… luckily I had noticed in pictures they were pointing in different directions. Still struggled to move it 10ft though.
They do so much damage using fork lifts on the cars and in general around yard, even after purchase. It should be as described but the caveat their contracts so theres no come back and its all on you, wouldn’t be to bad but their costs eat up nearly all the profit in the vehicle so you are left out of pocket.
@@geoffaries Copart no longer allow personal visits to inspect. They instead are happy to charge £10 for a 10 minute video call with one of their staff going around the car. I've done that with a couple of cars which I wanted for myself, but not worth it for a trader who's considering buying one of possibly many cars on their shortlist. Just another money earner by Copart, after a sale allowing them to tell an unhappy buyer that they had the choice of a video call inspection. Copart can't be trusted !
Yes! I bought a little mito and it had more damage on than listed, but I still got a decent car out of it, I do wonder though why the pictures are so poor quality. Looks like they've been taken on an ancient phone
Rob you are brilliant in your own right. Neither of you would be as happy or successful with out the other. The sum is greater than its parts. Thanks Gentlemen
I buy stolen and recovered Range Rovers/Land Rovers from Copart and 9 times out of 10, they need a new battery. AGM batteries do not like to be stood/discharged. Have recently just purchased a 21 plate E-pace facelift from Copart which apparently had petrol poured on the seats, turned out to be someone spilled a bit of diesel inside…. Got a bargain for that reason. Also just won a 71 plate Evoque today, will most likely need a battery! Keep it up with the content, it’s always enjoyable to watch!
I once watched a video of a guy on here with a stolen Audi which had been stamped and he ground that out and used an acid kit to bring the original number back through to the top of the surface
Rob there’s a dye you can use to enhance the number that’s been ground off I used it when I lived and worked in the states for the police on firearms and the likes of that it’s an acid based product
The number plate man didn't have stock to make a numberplate. Was his name Trigger? Love the enthusiasm. And the forklift nobber should have one inserted where the sun don't shine. Not up there, in the right eyeball.
Nice one guys I’m not only amazed at Chris’s skill level but also how the heck does he remember where everything is, I can’t even remember what tools I have, ( builders tools) that is , great post again guys really turning the vehicles around these days, when I think about some of the wrecked ones that you started the channel with, 👍
That means that copart can swap/ take any parts from vehicles, 'accidently' trash them and generally take liberties with those terms and conditions, who can complain and by your attitude to it who does 🤬, get out of jail free card.
Hello BOTH. Very interesting video, I found it frustrating as you did in trying to get the car to start and the electrics to work - eventually!! Always a concern when the chassis number has been tampered with, but a good and honest rectification. Looking forward to the next video. Best wishes from Lincolnshire.
Hi Rob and Chris, great work on this Range Rover Evoque.with a charge and sorted things out it started 😄.with reclomet parts it's back to a good car on the exterior.
Great video guys. Really love your content generally and this one was great for being a but different. Really interesting to hear how you deal with stolen and recovered stuff and how it used to be.
Interesting discussion on VIN number. I’d replicate what the local PD did on the engine compartment and create a new plate made up that includes telephone number of PD on it.
Used to use Number stamps like those 40 years ago marking dining tables veneered sheets before cutting into sections. Also an old boy had a letter and number sets he'd lend to mark your personal woodworking tools.
Looks like another good earner fellas with hopefully not too much hard graft and bodywork take care fellas and stay lucky and healthy 👍 looking forward to Sundays video 📹 already 😊❤
Hi Lads love watching the videos from Ireland. keep up the good work :) the chassis punches can still be bought new i only bought a set a few weeks back. looking foward to seeing the finished car :)
Hi Rob. The small grey stickers are POLEXAM stickers and are fitted by police stolen vehicle examiners when the identity of the car has been changed. The false id is removed and those stickers are fitted with a unique ref number. The telephone number is for a company called retainagroup who store the true details of the vehicle which is recorded against the unique ref number on the labels. 👍
I was beginning to think it was cursed, had a living spirit in it. Everything Rob told Chris about something not happening, it happened! Handbrake came off, ignition worked, bonnet opened! Lights coming on themselves was another! Weird one
The start of this video was comical Rob. I can't believe you tried to tell Chris it didn't run and the bonnet wouldn't open. Stop with the porkie pies mate. LOL
My aunt had an E pace with the same running gear she only did 900 miles in 2 years and it ate 3 brand new batteries. There's something about the electronics in them that drains the battery when not used for long periods of time.
In South Africa you are not allowed to touch vin or engine numbers. If the car was stolen and the numbers where removed or damaged, the police will allocate a new number that will be stamped on the engine or chassis. Also an engine number cannot be transferred to a new engine. You are never allowed to restamp the original number.
I remember you changing the battery on that jump pack.. and I done the same, I realised the wall charger doesn’t do it it any good and doesn’t charge it properly.. so now I use a 12v car battery charger.
A lot of cars now when the battery is low it dose affect the keys and comes up on dash not recognised just give the battery some juice and it will start 👍🏽
Rob-Chris; In the past where you had a car that required a routine service (oil-filters pads etc) you would clearly mention this in the video. I don't remember you doing this recently ????.
Reclemat are great. I got bits for my V6 Calibra from them at a tidy price. When I need bits for my E61 525d, that's where I'm going. Rangey poo guys - please spend your money better. The cars are great, when they work. Many of them are seen on the way to repair (Cotswolds) not due to idiot lack of talent, purely due to Solihull workmanship. Sorry if it offends, its just the way that I see it.
Great video as ever 👍 I've always been put off buying cars with altered/removed vins, but you've got me keen again now. Who issues the new vin number - is there always one of those little police badges when you get them from Copart? Cheers both for any advice 👍
I had a 69 911 that had a 'State of California Reassigned VIN' it had been stolen and all the VINs cut out so they riveted plates with the new VIN on it- could be a nightmare with a newer vehicle when you go for service they want the VIN
You could do with a,small yard, shunter....with recovery wheel lift on...surely one of you friends has the wheel lift off ,an old recovery truck....that you can adapt. I had a mate who decided to push vehicles the motor pool...till one day..he was found Brown bread...blew his main blood vein inside... Never risk it for a BISCUIT
Loving the plate stamp and consideration shown towards next owners! Did it read….S4LV4G3RE8U1D5 4R3 TH3 8E5T
Chris, is such a quality guy, a pleasure both listening to and watching him.

Rob absolutely Buzzing.. coffee jitters lol..see back of his head has been banging the head board again 😊
Lesson is, Copart's pictures mean absolutely nothing, and there terms and conditions are obviously all in there favour and not yours...
one way..thier way with copart.
They do so much damage using fork lifts on the cars and in general around yard, even after purchase. It should be as described but the caveat their contracts so theres no come back and its all on you, wouldn’t be to bad but their costs eat up nearly all the profit in the vehicle so you are left out of pocket.
I've bought cars from copart, but never without viewing them first and taking photos at that time, can still do this?

Everything Chris does is perfect lovely job on that number stamps 👍
Rob you are brilliant in your own right. Neither of you would be as happy or successful with out the other. The sum is greater than its parts. Thanks Gentlemen
What a shame we didn't meet Chris's dad, he must of given Chris so much knowledge. Great vid guys.

you could use the autel to check if mileage matches on the onboard computer and correct vin.

Wowzer 🤷♂️👊
What I appreciate with you guys, you have common senesce, which isn’t common anymore..! Great post as always, thanks 👍👍
So funny .. The Number plate man didn't have any materials in stock 😀... That reminded me when i went to Spud u like and they'd run out of Potatoes !🤭
The number plate man didn't have stock to make a numberplate. Was his name Trigger?
Love the enthusiasm. And the forklift nobber should have one inserted where the sun don't shine. Not up there, in the right eyeball.

You are both so honest & DTE with the boot V.I.N restoration 😊plate, thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom, Chris and Rob ❤
Looks like Deans GTR is going to get fixed at last 👍
Thought I recognised it from somewhere....
Always a pleasure watching you too is there anything that chris can't do the man's a genius.
Another interesting video lads, lovely how Chris explains everything nowadays, what a team you make. 😊
Always great to watch gentlemen, thank you so much. Do well with that one.
Fit that black grille. They really uplift the front end compared to those dull looking silver ones. Or you could always give the buyer the choice !
A brilliant insight from Chris and yourself regarding how cars are altered 👍
How come insurance companies need full disclosure when you get insurance, but will not disclose a stolen recovered car
HA - the old- 'DO AS I SAY - NOT AS I DO'
As Rob said its all about getting as much money back as possible
You can buy a new battery and fit it inside those red battery packs, only a few screws hold them together.
So that's where Saving Salvages GTR has gone for the rear quarter replacing! Working in partnership with other TH-camrs!
Chris, you are an absolute genius. No job is ever too tough for you
Always enjoy your channel best of luck with everything ahead 🚙👍👍👍
Cars seem to get worse at copart 🙄
well done guy's. Chris as usual with his magic fingers looking forward to the final result
Hi rob and Chris, great range rover, looks like one of the easy one lad's you have done. From marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless

I am enjoying this new motor and thanks for explaining about the chassis numbers.
Yeah back in the day stolen recovered used to go on a Q plate. Good old days lol, great video as always.👍
They only ever went on a q plate if they couldn’t determine the car’s original identity or if it was a kit car
Copart need to sort their act out. You don’t need this 💩..
It's definitely a cheeky sneek peak tease.... Robs a careful man with that camera.
The GTR looks like Dean's from Saving Salvage...
That car on the lift at the end of the video looks familiar. 🤔
Hi Rob and Chris, great work on this Range Rover Evoque.with a charge and sorted things out it started 😄.with reclomet parts it's back to a good car on the exterior.
Looking forward to you repairing Deans Nissan GTR!!! I spotted it sat there 😂
Great video once again guys. Nice sneak peek of the Nissan skyline gtr I will look forward to seeing more on that. Thanks again guys take care x
Good morning Rob and Chris, great video. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Cracking video chaps and great to see you doing some new and different stuff. Best of luck getting this one finished and out of the door.
Another fantastic buy guys, should be a quick flip !!
Great video guys. Really love your content generally and this one was great for being a but different. Really interesting to hear how you deal with stolen and recovered stuff and how it used to be.
is that a GTR rob...
keep it up chaps
[i used to make a tag with "service bodyshell" stamped in, that used to confuse people...]
Range rover: money pits. Together with Jeep the last on the list of customer satisfaction...
Top work again lads. hardest working men on TH-cam.
For the jump pack you need a noco GB150 you will never need another jump box again you will be very impressed

The number plate guy didn't have materials in? He only has to stock plates and numbers 😂🤣
Looks like another good earner fellas with hopefully not too much hard graft and bodywork take care fellas and stay lucky and healthy 👍 looking forward to Sundays video 📹 already 😊❤
23:25 is that a Nissan gtr?
23:14 looks like it 😮
yep!
I suspect its Dean's from Saving Salvage.
@ actually you’re probably right! Makes sense. He needed someone to do the body work.
Looks like one of
The chassis number is perfect for this channel
Honest people you are
I take my hat off to you 👍
Rob stop swearing!😉 Looking forward to the next one on this. Thanks as always.👍
Hi Lads love watching the videos from Ireland. keep up the good work :) the chassis punches can still be bought new i only bought a set a few weeks back. looking foward to seeing the finished car :)
Great video as always please you got a runner with not too much damage
I may have stated before. But you can get a honda engine with a car alternator work like a jump lead thingy but charges a car very quick and easy.
Hi Rob.

Extremely interesting video on cloned stolen vehicles it just goes to show there is still a massive loop hole in the system of such vehicles ❤
One day someone from the discovery channel is going to see what all us subscribers love about your channel and snap you up!
Another Range Rover, I'm beginning to suspect you have closets full of whips, chains and black leather.
😂😂😂 sounds like it
Quick sneak view of the Nissan!!
Smart Key not recognised May Ben just the key fob battery low.
Great point observation 💯👏🤘👊
The start of this video was comical Rob. I can't believe you tried to tell Chris it didn't run and the bonnet wouldn't open. Stop with the porkie pies mate. LOL
You took that copart smack on that front end better than I would
I bought the car with the damage what is there to moan about 🤷♂️
My aunt had an E pace with the same running gear she only did 900 miles in 2 years and it ate 3 brand new batteries. There's something about the electronics in them that drains the battery when not used for long periods of time.
Wow free Damage with all cars .
another easy fix for you guys great work as always, loving the content ,keep it up guys..atb Steve
Some Fords used to put the lights on when the battery was knackered to run the battery flat to deter jump starting.
Nice gtr rob 😁 is that saving salvages one ? Think he got stuck with his cos he doesn’t have Chris’s expertise to be able to fix it 😁
buy an odyssey pc545 battery and put into the jump pack will be better than it was when it was new

I know they weren't planned but the comedy elements add loads to the video!
Look on your face when that bonnet opened. Classic, made me proper laugh.
It seems another case of misrepresentation by copart.
They really need to be taken to task with their nonsense.
Rob fill in the VIN Number in the boot & slam panel with Black Sharpie lol 😂.
A lot of cars now when the battery is low it dose affect the keys and comes up on dash not recognised just give the battery some juice and it will start 👍🏽
Can't believe you are still dealing with co part after the audi debacle. You are just asking for it.
Did not see Chris looking for coffee money
Yet another top clip guys.
Rob-Chris; In the past where you had a car that required a routine service (oil-filters pads etc) you would clearly mention this in the video. I don't remember you doing this recently ????.
SALVA...on vin very close to salvage rebuilds ! 😉 was that a demo piece ..
No that’s how the landrover vins start 👍
Can do acid test on the chassis number location and X-ray the metal and get the numbers
you guys are always honest
Reclemat are great. I got bits for my V6 Calibra from them at a tidy price. When I need bits for my E61 525d, that's where I'm going.

Have you brought deans GT-R lads , very exciting as always
I had a 69 911 that had a 'State of California Reassigned VIN' it had been stolen and all the VINs cut out so they riveted plates with the new VIN on it- could be a nightmare with a newer vehicle when you go for service they want the VIN

great job as always lads looks pretty good this one next video please
Copart must pay peanuts. Chimpanzees would probably take more care.
A lot of stolen range rovers kind of tells a story 😫
9.16 rob the fibber does a comedy turn...😅
Bit concerned about the paint on the bonnet when Rob 'placed' the grille on there 😂😂😂
Lovely looking motor though guys 👌🏼
You can buy them stamps at a lot of places i had to buy a set when i got a new honda cub frame
