Recalling the good old days when Mike cruised by the dumpsters on skateboard, put the scrap on the ground, and returned with Dottie for pick-up. Sometimes he biked the route instead of skateboarding.
Think there's just too much scrap these days to do that, just proves how bad the economy has become regarding recycling, a throw away society. I've picked up a faulty TV (fixed it bad caps) a free patio chair and table, chair just needed a nut and bolt, TV still going strong 9 months now.
@@jonathaningram4672…but it has NOTHING to do with a “bad economy”. When the economy is truly bad more people are more likely to hold on to things. Not throw away so carelessly. Just stick around a while. You’ll see it when the economy soon tanks.
Can we all just take a moment to say thank you to Mike ❤ I am very thankful for your videos. It's one thing that It's entertaining but from time to time I learn something. Have a great Thanksgiving, Mike and family.
Mike, as a child of the 60s,70s and 80s, I could totally see someone doing an awesome cartoon called "mike the scavenger" and all his adventures discovering strange and wonderous things in dumpsters, like worm holes to other dimensions, time machine parts, spaceships, little people that live there, strange animals, the sidekick would be a trash panda... it would be epic!
I giggle at the way he says floppy dicks every time but cringe when he throws him aside. It's tricky though, he'd have to take them back and check them out to make sure they're not moldy and that feels a lot like micro scrapping. Mike's not really into micro scrapping, he's into moving poundage.
I remember like it was yesterday becoming your first subscriber, back when you used to ride your skateboard or your bicycle and you rented your home. Now look at us, we have almost 600,000 subscribers and you got a new truck and you now own your own home and you learned how to sing. That just warms the Cottle's of my heart. What a great life we have, huh Mike.
Mikey, the VHS rewinders reminded me of a funny story. When Blockbuster was around and I was returning my rented DVDs, I would tell the clerk that I had forgotten to rewind them after watching them! 😂 Sometimes the clerk would actually tell me it was fine, the DVDs didn't need rewinding! I would act surprised to learn this. 🤔 I love your channel, it's my new obsession! ❤️
Mike, here, where I live, There is a scraper on every block. Dumpsters stay empty. It's so fortunate that you have an endless supply of quick money. That was an awesome run.
All these old items bring back some memories. At one point I had over 300 VHS tapes with three movies recordered on each! Had one of those record players too. 😃
Another good haul. Happy 10th Anniversary I hope you have many more. Enjoy hosting Thanksgiving dinner and time with your family. See you on the next video you so graciously share with us.
7:09 ,those old TV's are quite fun to implode ,got to open it up & remove the safety band around the tube & put it back together, then leave a small propane torch flame hitting the front of the picture tube & be far away, it will literally implode & its guts sometimes spit out the back ,or put a pellet thru it if you want ,but stay far back
An answer to your question is yes the blue does help keep the toilet clean. You still have to run a brush toilet brush I mean around the bowl about once a week Love your content
Well Magic Mike its another exciting day with you and l wouldn't miss it for the whole world 🌎. It really gets me on the things people throw away and you make the best use of it❤❤❤❤
Mike I can remember the old tvs in the 50-60's when the bulbs went out you could buy replacement ones at the store. I can remember going with my dad to buy them. I think there may have been a way to test your bad bulbs? We got a color tv for the moon landing!
I still miss the cat in the dumpster prank. I know you have difficulty making the noise, but you can always ad it post production. PS I would love to have that BetaMax player and cassettes.
The end of the video, when you findly got that big box out of the dumpster, after wrestling with it for a time, you slapped the top and said, " welcome to the truck." That was funny.
Keep Digging - You will find the whole Garage - ah ! Great Dumpster Goodies and Cool Black Metal Boxes - very Successful Night - well done Mike ! Many Cheers from Australia !

@jonathaningram4672 I lived next apartment over from a garbage man. Late 70s. He didn't care.
He had the best decorated place.
Ever.
I used to love watching him do that. I am still waiting for the spaceship. ☺️😊
I remember that too.
Love the sound effects when you break the blade's of the ceiling fans
Me too! Can make a bad day turn to good day!
That and the building, suspenseful music while lifting the real heavy items always make me laugh.

Guardians of the garbagebin
@richavic4520 lol, sumthin like that!
Ahhh yeah bruh, spark it up
🙂
I just started watching and those floppy disks would be something people are looking for as they are hard to come by now.

@@AlanEvans721micro scrapping is tedious.

Damn Mike those 8" Floppy Disc have some decent resell value on Flebay!
Those were 5-1/4 floppies. And yes they are old as hell and eBay able.
I’ll snag them next time
What amazes me at the stuff you can get on that truck by yourself
Happy Anniversary! And Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!🦃

I love how quickly you scavange wire pieces. Your hands are two blurs working at lightening speed. 👍
4:08 Betamax blast from the past!
Worth about $300 if working.
remember the "be kind and rewind" at rental shops and sometimes extra charges if you didn't. The kids these days will never understand our struggles.
Happy anniversary. Tell Mrs scavenger that she is a lucky lady.

Happy Anniversary to you both!!♥️
16:42 the pallet ladder suggests that someone picked the purple open top before Mike got there.
You can always tell the open tops that Mike has been in before - his pallet ladders are already set up on one side
Black & Decker and chainsaw, two words that should never go together. Truer words have never bin said.
Way to go on ten years of love in your and hers life.
I still miss the cat in the dumpster prank. I know you have difficulty making the noise, but you can always ad it post production.
PS I would love to have that BetaMax player and cassettes.
Happy Anniversary Mike and Mrs Mike. I hope you and all your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
One of your clips was used in Netflix Documentary called Buy Now The Shopping Conspiracy. It's a yoga wheel at 48:41
9:55 as you pick up the foot pedals and say “pedal to the metal” someone nearby floored it in their muscle car 😂😂😂
