From a Black Mom you do her hair Beautifully! I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where there are many interracial couples and the Black community always shutters when the child’s hair is matted bc the mother is not familiar with maintaining the texture -we always say I’m happy to give you tips, careful not to overstep boundaries. You have smashed that stereotype! Also your daughter is so smart & pretty🤩 My daughter is a Psychologist at Harvard I always forward your videos and she says what a healthy beautiful family! That’s from an expert. Your family is a model for all young families such as my daughter. You’re truly blessed and rich in the way that matters most. I love to see it! Your husband was very smart to choose you & you him🤍 Cheers!
Amber, you do a great job on Amaya's beautiful hair. The moisture at the end is very important for the scalp. I love the way you embrace the Kenyan side of Amaya's heritage; the Kenyan language, traditions, culture etc. Lots of love to you, Rey, Amaya and gorgeous baby Remi. 🩷💙🩷🩵
I just want to recognize mom for the way she is parting Amaya’s hair: 1. With the correct hair tool 2. In the correct manner Mom slayed Amaya’s hair! Great tutorial 🫶🏼
@@theveryplumdarcey The way black people's hair curls and the "coarseness" of it is MUCH different than most Caucasian hair. Many white mothers of mixed children get advice on handling it from black women. In fact, a HUGE difference between a lot of black people's straightened hair, and that of white people is: You can't get it wet or it will curl back up and ruin the style. That was the most fascinating part of the video to me. Yes, we are all humans, but this comment shows a SERIOUS lack of knowledge. People making aggressive, negative, public comments on people or things they have little knowledge of is THE MOST "problematic" thing going on in America today, in my opinion.
@WhutThu She is of dual heritage and therefore her hair is not afro. Your appraisal makes assumptions on my behalf. Firstly that l have no knowledge on the subject and its purpose. There is a sad history surrounding black women and their hair. Thus the initial comment is insensitive. I retain my thesis point that hair is hair and remain critical of cultural insensitivity.
@WhutThu I have insight and perspective you don't share. It is one of not making a spectacle of features and innate characteristics that don't concord with accepted standard of beauty. The unsaid and the hidden need to be brought to the fore and discussed to reduce the racial trauma that is historically associated with hair of black women.
Thank you, i will try this. My daughter is 2 years old and has the same hair like Amaya and I'm quite struggling with her hair... more hairvideos would be great 😊 Btw, my daughter loves to watch Amaya's videos ❤
Amaya's hair looks so cute! I wish we'd known about this when our daughter (she's Black) was her age. I did little pigtails and my husband learned how to do extensions, weaves and cornrows starting when she was 3. It would take several hours. He would entertain her by giving her toys to play with or he put on children's videos to keep her as still as possible. Also, for both of our kids, we used Tea Tree Oil for their hair and Lubriderm Lotion for their skin because they have no oil in their skin and it would get really dry. Now, my daughter (she's in her late 20's) prefers to wear wigs. In the States, that's fairly common for women...saves all of the work, time and money.
I'm trying that hair style myself tomorrow I use pawpaw for my Afro hair and coconut oil but will def try that new hair style out tmz ... fantastic 👏🏽👏🏽👩🏽🦱👩🏽🦱👩🏽🦱👩🏽🦱🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾❤️❤️
Mummy does a great job with Amaya’s beautiful hair, but I love her hair just left free, wild and curly like a doll (I know, hard to manage, not practical etc.) but the compromise with some kind of bow like thingies you had on either sides in her museum video was super cute too! It’s so beautiful that you can experiment with these different stylings for her ❤❤ love the double ponytails too! How about 2 pigtails? would look super cute too! would love to see that if possible.
I’m going to do this on my hair but with black elastic bands. I’ve been wearing twists for some time now and want a bit of break for summer. You’re so good, thanks Amber.
Wow for a little girl to sit thru all this fuss is pretty amazing! I know I've seen little girls with rows and rows of beaded strands and I know this must take forever. I also know kids by nature are impatient ,fidgety and just don't want to sit still . It looks nice but I ve always kind of felt bad for them. Me ,I'm old and I have never been one to fuss with my own hair, never cared to do elaborate ironing ,braiding, straightening, etc . If I wanted curly I would get a perm for awhile, care free short for awhile ,otherwise ponytail. Amaya sure is acting very mature and taking it all in stride, I guess she's used to it. She does always look adorable !
Mum got this down like a science! Nicely done! Amaya looks cuter than ever! Post Script, I thought I had already subscribed. Oops! fixed that error! (New subscriber)

Amaya's hair looks adorable 🥰
Brilliantly handled Mum - not easy for a white woman doing beautiful black hair but you do it fabulously
Well done Mum & Amaya ❤❤
Why and why? It's just hair and we are all humans. This comment is so problematic.

Looks so beautiful Amaya!❤
Well done, mama! Finger detangling is a great way to avoid breakage and they're likely to stay seated than when using comb/brush.
