- Hello everyone! In this video i'll be braiding my 3 year old son, Riley's 3c curly hair. I am absolutely in love with his curls but sometimes braiding it helps so much with it not getting tangled so quickly. So, I love doing this protective style to make the detangled hair LAST ok! lol. Just stumbled across your channel and at the perfect time too. I was actually looking for a style for my 5 y/o daughter last night and I saw this thumbnail. I saved the video yesterday and attempted the hairstyle today on my 2 y/o son. I was in desperate need of cute yet super quick hairstyle and this was just what I needed. We spent last weekend at the beach 🏖 and his hair definitely needed some TLC.

My daughter and so. Has hair just like your son! I have the hardest time taming frizz and if I don’t touch their hair for a few days sometimes it ends up so matted it’s like a dreadlock and I have to takes hours finger detangling so they don’t lose a lot of hair in the process. I have 4c hair so this is such a learning curve for me, but I’m going to try this style on my son and see how it goes!

My daughter has the same hair texture and I found what works beat is the just for me hair products line for kids . Every other day I also use rose water and aloe juice mixed and it makes her curles soft .
I spend all the time thinking (About) the boondocks cause Rayle and huey are sopose to be dominican and a lot of afro dominicans have 3 type hair so I laugh a lot when you said your sons name, Very Useful video you got cool Kids

What products/routine do you have for his hair before braiding? My sons hair looks like this wet, but dries into a big frizzy ball.

My son just turned 4 and has 3a/3b curls I his hair was a hit below his shoulders and decided to trim a bit and noticed the bottom section around his neck area his hair is more of wavy pattern and I’m trying to get it to curl up again . I would use deep conditioner on him not as often or do I co wash . I’ve used Shea moisture curl enhancer shampoo, conditioner and the leave in curl definer. I decided to try other products and kept coming back to Shea moisture. I just got the Shea moisture manuka honey & mafura oil deep conditioner and the kinky curl knot today leave in . I’m hoping this works imma be using the same shampoo & conditioner and I’m just ordered the as I am co wash . Any suggestions.
Im a successful hair stylist and my clientele are predominantly white, my husband is African and now of course we have the most amazing baby boy. I want to keep his hair but i have to admit im needing to learn how to properly care for his curls. Im needing help specifically with the styling products/cream/foams for keeping frizz down and maintaining twists or braids. Also, how do you keep the style when he sleeps at night? Please
My son is 18 Months and HATES when I touch his hair or try to put a hat on him or anything with his head 😩 your son is obviously older but he did such a good job and so did you mama! He looks handsome!

yes! they do curl up too. I haven't ever blow dried his hair straight first and then braided it, which would avoid the curling up but I don't want to put the heat on it. I've only always just braided it while wet.

How do you keep his hair from tangling at night? My son has the same curl type and it tangles so badly at night 😢
A silk/satin pillow is a lifesaver. And the braids help so much with keeping his hair detangled. But tangles are inevitable with curls
